  1. when was mick doohan driving something like that around bathurst??? id love to see mick doohan drive anything, if hes half as good a driver as he was a rider ..
  2. the position of the cam has little to do with how much technology has gone into the engine, but i think most people might have trouble comming to terms with that
  3. better knock on wood theres a cyclone heading for japan right now
  4. i now have a set of GTR injectors, they were even delivered to my door thanks Player_Hater
  5. not much between a S4/S5 rx7 and a skyline tho, cept maybe a backseat LOL
  6. i recon the most dangerous driving i see on the roads is done by V6 commodores 80% of the time. seems they have the most to prove, for some reason i drive a commodore myself so im not entirely biased either... tho its not buick powered
  7. lol, im sure the unichip is fine for drivability and idle etc... and it proved its power potential long ago, but it will never be "better" than an edit, so long as the tuner knows what they are doing... just had to mention that when others suggested the unichip might be a superior product just because APS charge a lot for it (and they have the right to) if you have ever had a close up look at APS's exhaust, its a work of art... but the fact is, its just not necessary. jap cars & ls1's get a huge power bonus from freeing up the exhaust restriction, but on a XR6T its just not there.. .the stock dump pipe is similar to most aftermarket items fitted to other turbos, and the rest of the exhaust is of a fairly decent size... 260rwkw with just an edit (or unichip) valve springs and injectors says it all and nizpro make a good 330rwkw from their stage2 (or is it 3?) and that still uses the stock exhaust
  8. the beauty of the rotor is that import motors are cheap as, about $750 for a S4 13BT which you can make some pretty big power from without even opening it (250-300rwkw isnt impossible, and thats easy 10s in such a light car) BUT, as far as i know there are bugger all good import motors comming in any more, all of them need a rebuild... which is gonna be a few bucks like with any motor, but once thats done its done B)
  9. i know that the first time i had a drag with a rotor i lost all faith in my S14A that i had at the time. it was a capella/rx2 covered in primer with a cannon zorst and 155 cheese cutter wheels.... my car was kinda mild (fmic, 3" & 1bar) and from a 80kph roll on it was as if i had jumped on the brakes... he was about 50m ahead of me in what seemed like 2-3 seconds i then wanted to sell the 200 and put a 13BT into a KE55 corolla... pity that never eventuated since then ive had a passion for shitbox sleepers nothing hurts more than being burnt by a shitbox hahaha
  10. i drive a aussie car with a jap engine, so ill leave it at that those hemis may be ok engines, but even with displacement on demand they are still pretty thirsty. LS1's and LS2's dont have that but they are damn good on the juice. often better than a n/a R31 lol
  11. lol neither are centrifugal superchargers either positive displacement or turbo all the way... the gen3 needs it to really wake it up, as its not the torqueiest 5.7L around, tho the edit does help it a lot. turbo kits are still a bit exotic and therefore have very APS like prices... but things are only getting cheaper and cheaper these days... and considering a lot of these turbo kits retain the standard fuel system and just use an edit, maybe upgraded MAP sensor... hardest part is the custom headers... GT42's are dirt cheap these days and would work niiiiiiiceeee on a LS1
  12. i also think that the LS1 commodore will be just as much the VLt of the future as the XR6T any way. both are absolute bolt on weapons
  13. in 10 years time the xr6t will be the VLt of tomorrow
  14. you get even better idle quality, drivability etc etc with the edit over a unichip. apparently APS are working on their own edit, dont know if thats ready or not yet tho. but unichips are no comparison to the edit the 9k dosnt include the engineers cert tho, that costs extra but it is available AFAIK. personally if (when ) i have an XR6 i would take it to HPF in dandenong
  15. APS have a very good product, but they have nothing to do with "bang for buck" .... ie, they charge like a wounded bull. you can get the same kinda performance as a stage2 kit with just injectors, valve springs and an edit, which can be had for $2500 without even doing any of the work yourself. to go to stage 3 power levels the only difference is the intercooler, again 2k for that is a bit rich .... these days even $200 hybrid copys have been running 9 second passes in VL's... so one of them or something better still would have it up around 330rwkw or more, which is a high 11 on street tyres for not a lot more than $3000 to $4000max
  16. the guy was apparently trying his best not to wheelspin voodoo had a big quote from the owner/driver on the OCAU motoring forum on the same subject
  17. its getting very close to 3 years since ford released the BA falcon, so some early XR6T's will soon be out of warranty... but that hasnt stopped any body, there are plenty of big HP XR's around, and plenty with just edits/basic mods same with LS1 commodores... tho holden are a bit better than ford when it comes to warrantys & mods, so i hear
  18. a guy i know bought one late last year, he earns 65k they arent thaaaaaat expencive... 45k+orc brand new for a sedan, 40k+orc for a ute... im sure there are plenty of people earning less than $60k driving around in R34 GT-T's or R32/R33 GTR's... but that doesnt mean they can afford to either
  19. bare in mind that to make 250rwkw in a XR6 all you need is an edit.. still stock cooler, exhaust, etc that is on the limit of the injectors and valve springs tho, need to upgrade those to go further for edit, valve springs and bigger injectors is about $2500-3000 for a drive in drive out service with 3 maps supplied (usually stock, fast & octane-booster) upgrade to a bigger/better fmic and your well into the 300rwkw club i want one
  20. to those saying it'll be too heavy, or heavier than a VH45 ... the car with LS1 & T56 now weighs 10kg less than it did with the RB25DET ive seen a Z32 300ZX with the same conversion and it dropped 150lbs from the VG30 OHV all alloy V8 = very light
  21. after a set of GTR injectors preferably ones that you have used and know the condition of recently cleaned and flow tested is always a bonus and im in melbourne, but will pay postage from anywhere cheers
