yeh +1 to DRD-00F its probably the RCA. Run it the other side and then re ground all the wires properly and see what happens. It shouldn't be too hard to fix

Whats the power rating on the jaycar coaxials? If they're going to pump harder then the stockies then you probably should get an amp. Just to prevent clipping if you do decide to push it a bit far

Well if you're running Alpine subs you might as well go with Alpine for the best results. Why not try a 2 channel PDX series amp? they should give you heaps of power whilst not taking up so much room =)

Im guessing coz its a car used more for driving then to listen to music in but yes i agree they should make it easier. I did a similiar job to my mates car if you can try and pull the battery out. If you can mark the holes properly you should be able to get a decent job

It really depends on what kind of speakers you're trying to put in man. Coz if you're going for more power the magnet will obviously get bigger meaning you'll need a bigger hole in the parcel shelf to mount them. Do you have 6 inch splits? or 6 X 9 inch splits? Me my mate are fitting 6X9 inches into his parcel shelf right now and we are using fibreglass. the best thing to do i reckon is to raise the speakers up a bit if you don't get enough clearance mounting them straight on the parcel shelf. Or just cut a larger hole in the parcel shelf make sure you know where the welds are though other wise the whole thing can come off
