The thing that pisses me off the most is the fact that they were following me for a good 5kms before they pulled me over, all the while that taxi going over the limit as soon as the unmarked pulled out of a side street and behind me. Their excuse? "We can only do 1 thing at a time mate..." Yeah, well how about do the obvious thing and fine the dickhead taxi driver who is BLATANTLY breaking the law instead of going on a fishing expidition with me over something I have proven you wrong with. Wonder what would have happened if I had refused to open my car and let him put the sticker inside? Telling him to shove off I have proved him wrong. I would be inclined to wait it out, however they have given me till the 10th to get it over the pits. Unbelievable.

I've just had a good look at the slip I was given for it (as I've never had a yellow before) and they have not put the correct rego plate on the docket. They have stipulated [1CEU 856] when my car is in fact [1CEU 656] Does this mean that this yellow sticker is invalid? Mods note: I accidentally posted this in "forced induction" section aswel... tired and ticked off. My bad.

Hey guys, Wondering if there is anything that can be done about this. I was travelling home tonight along canning highway when I saw a VE with persuities pull onto canning highway behind me, knew straight away it was unmarked car. So anyways, travelling along for about another 5kms to my house and meanwhile theres a f**king taxi speeding and weaving in and out of traffic, tailgating etc, all for this 5kms. Chuck a left onto my street, sure enough, micky lights. Shit, pulled into my driveway and copper straight away, license etc. Yep sure no worries mate here you go, why you pulling me over? "Your exhaust is too low..." Uhm, excuse me? What the hell? I go inside and grab a measuring tape and come out, measure it for him while he is standing there and he said, no your car is too low it does not meet ADR's. I said how the hell does that work when I have just proved to you it's legal ride height? He said he doesn't need to see for himself he knows its too low. f**k that. So he yellowed me. I took a photo of his license plate and shit because I am not going to take this lying down but what, if ANYTHING can be done about this? He lets the dickhead who was speeding/tailgating/high beaming me for 5kms go, to pull me over to yellow me for something completely false. I don't buy it.

Ah nice one. Yeah from what I have noticed it will hit full on the boost guage, then drop down a little and bounce back and forth as you said. I changed out the coilpack on #1 cyl yesterday too and she seems happier at higher revs now aswel. I know that on Rb26DETT motors the front 3 cyls power the front turbo and same for the rear 3 cyls with the rear turbo, could something like limited spark from the dodgy coilpack cause the front turbo to not fully spool or to pike out a bit at high revs/high temp? Rather random thought but still thought I'd ask it hehe.
-
Ok, seems like I havn't regained all boost again. It holds full boost most of the time but when she hits around 75-80+C water temp, starts "flapping" at about 14psi+ (like hits about 14-15 and the needle sits there swinging back and forth a little). Wondering if this could be a cracked hose or something that is expanding to let air out when it's hot as opposed to being constricted when it's colder?

Okie dokie, done. This was dead easy. The bracket holding the rod at the top was loose, so I had to hold it, push it to the right and tighten it up. This allowed the motor/mechanism (far right with the rubber collar) to actuate far enough to fully unlock the door and stay unlocked. All in all took me 10 mins. Chris, you're a champion, many thanks -Chris
-
Hey MrC, I spoke to Chris a few days ago and he suggested that the rod that actuates the lock opening/closing has re-adjusted itself somehow. I will be pulling the door trim off mine tomorrow to have a look, but from what he told me, basically requires a hex key (allen key) or some such just to adjust the rod so as the lock can fully open and stay open without closing automatically and therefore locking the passenger door at the same time. Will let you know how I go I'll take some pics too if I remember... need to find a memory card heh.

And just to keep the actual topic ON topic, this has been posted on Antilag today for those interested: Meet: Morley Galleria Undercover Carpark. Time: 8pm meet, 9pm leave. All cars welcome NO - Dickheads

Thanks for the heads up mate, greatly appreciated. Will be stripping the door trim off this weekend.

Hey guys hoping someone can help me out with this. Recently my immobilizer has been acting strange. I'll disarm the immobilizer/alarm and go to open my door, won't open. I have to use the key and open handle at the same time to get the door open. When I am in the car, door closed and insert key in ignition, it starts beeping at me as if I have left my door open, however when I turn the key/start car, the beeping stops. All the while the locks inside the car have locked again. I can sit there hitting the "unlock" button all I want, it disengages the locks on the door, they they re-engage themselves again. I noticed that the lock on the drivers side doesnt move much at all but the passenger side does. I own an R32 GTR and have an AutoWatch alarm installed. I have tried resetting the alarm but to no avail. Also, and I think this has something to do with the alarm issue, when I am driving, after say, 2 mins of driving, the audio from my car stereo will cut out. I can eject CD and put it back in, will play for a few seconds then stop. All the functions on the deck still work fine and the CD is still going through the tracks ok, just no sound. This is driving me round the bend -Chris

All you fellas are immediately putting the blame on the truckie, but did you ever stop to think that he was just a victim of circimstance? Did any of you actually see it? Too many dickheads cut in front of trucks these days and then hammer the anchors and think "she'll be right..." then this sort of stuff happens. Not saying this is the case, but keep an open mind.

The speed limit in the NT was changed a few years ago after some dudes in a Fezza crashed their car and killed one of the Gumball Rally(?) marshals on one of the ONLY corners/bends on the entire stretch of road that was raced on. Was from memory a Fezza F40, the guys driving it (doctors I think they were) survived it but they changed the speed limit shortly after that if memory serves... As for roads I enjoy driving on, South West Highway is a bloody nice drive Also Caves Road along the south west coast, REALLY nice to drive down there. (I know I know, they aren't really in Perth )

Nice one I gave her a little boot today on the freeway on the way into work (sat back at 80, 3rd, foot down to 100) and hit full 16psi again. Was an exhaust issue. I'll probably do that too Travis. The only thing I am worried about is that when I pulled the cat/front pipe apart, the actual internal diameter of the front pipe is about 1inch larger than the internal diameter of the cat pipe. So I am just worried that it could be a potential bottle-neck in the system. Wouldn't mind some people's thoughts on this too (if you have any thoughts that is considering barely anyone raised an eyebrow of interest to help out in the first place).

Replaced the front pipe -> cat gasket yesterday. The old gasket on the flange was black as night and was on both the top and bottom, back and front of the gasket. Definately blown out. Replaced it with a nice shiney new one and fitted it back up with high temp gasket goo. Beautiful. No more leak coming from the gasket. However! One of the f**king welds holding the Cat pipe itself to the flange where it marries the gasket to the front pipe flange, has a bloody leak in it It's not a huge leak, VERY minor but could feel it when I had my hand over the join when I had the motor running testing it. Damn. Well, I've re-gained about 2psi aswel and should hold till I can afford to replace the system heh.

Have only read a few posts in here, got a little past 2LV8ETR's post and had the mental image of his avatar stuck in my head.... think I need another glass of red now Find out who has done all the work on the car or was the last shop to service it and if possible, speak to the mechanic/tuner of the car. The more often than not know EVERYTHING about the mechanical runnings of the car and what to look out for if anything, bribe them with a carton for their knowledge if you have to hehe. Other than that, what everyone else has said etc...

Going to grab a replacement gasket from Xspeed this week and replace it on saturday myself. Looked over the zorst last night and from what I could tell there was nothing leaking past the cat itself (on the back end). Replace it and see how I go
-
Requires new cat though aswel, so as the front pipe can marry up to cat properly. At the moment it's 4" front to 3" cat, hence the extra price. Well, doesn't actually require a new cat, but different cat will supposedly be able to marry up to the front pipe better
-
So! After taking it to see Aaron at InTune, turns out not only has the gasket gone on the cat, the flanges and gaskets back from the cat are leaking aswel. I've lost about 2-3psi top end now coz of it heh. Looks like I Have 2 choices, either I can replace the flanges and gaskets, bout $500 total, or I can get a 3.5" xforce system cat back stainless steel system for bout $1500 installed.
-
Taking her into see the boys at Intune Performance tomorrow morning, can't get anyone at x-speed to call me back, have called like 3 times in the past 2 weeks and no joy.
-
Lost top end in my GTR with the leak? Yeah, I seem to have lost a bit of top , I though I'd accidentally set my boost controller down to about 12psi hehe. Looks like I'm going to be getting a gasket replaced then .... I havn't had a chance to get the bolts for the timing belt cover so I havn't put it back on yet heh. Glad to hear your's is all good, love that machine... aaaah GTR's ... nothing but the best will do
-
ooohs, that could be fun heeh. Might get someone to do that one for me. But yeah, I replaced the spark plugs and idling better at the moment, not hunting as much. But still definitely sounds like a leak of some sort from under the passenger floor well. Going to take it to a zorst center on the weekend and have it looked at because I can't see where it's coming from if anywhere at all. But also reason I believe it's exhaust related is that it has a weird wrx-like burble while feathering the throttle during downshifts and the like, hard to explain. Meanwhile, hope you havn't had any further issues with yours
-
S'ok mate, you'll fit right in with this lot. There's still hope for them, really...
-
Okie dokie. Plugs swapped out. Still has slight rough acceleration and idle and noise still coming from under floor passenger side so seems most likely gasket. Worth replacing it myself or taking it to a zorst center? can't actually see/hear exactly where it's coming from myself.
-
Clarification, blown gasket somewhere on the exhaust.
-
Just checked spark plugs, the tops of them are corroded as all hell, going to replace them tomorrow. However, just had a mate come round for a 2nd opinion, took it for a drive and we noticed noise coming from the dump/cat area, sounds like I've blown a gasket somewhere, reckon this could be causing rough idle and rough acceleration?
