  1. Don't have a spare? Most immobilisers can be turned off by turning the key in timing with the flashes. You should have a card with your immobiliser..or a tag that came with it..with a 4/5 digit number. Say the number is 1 2 3 4 5 turn the key wait one flash turn the key wait two flashes turn they key wait three flashes you get the idea. You might be able to get another one made up from anywhere that does alarm installs....no idea on the cost...probably just as cheap as getting a new one installed?
  2. Will need your own jack and tools, but if you're without something, fellow drifters are always friendly enough to help you out. Shouldn't need to worry about chaining up your wheels and whatnot, some people do, but again...drift community are pretty cool blokes.
  3. Yeah coolant, same thing, different name
  4. If its been sitting unstarted for that long, you're head gaskets are probably in shit shape. It will take a couple of oil flushes (dont just change oil, get an additive that thins it out before you drain it) to get all the old shit out...good idea to change your water too. Oil in the diff and gearbox are probably in bad shape too.
  5. +1..all stamped right on the bell housing, down low, behind the turbo. To read mine, I had to remove the heatshield...and because it was hard to read...I had to setup a worklight under the passenger side wheel, shining pretty much side on to that flat section with the number...only just barely readable then...I've gotta get around to engraving the numbers deeper.
  6. Stiff? THIS IS SAU:WA Technical questions really should be put in the other sections mate, just go back and read the last few pages or search in WA here, you'll find there isn't alot of help here...but Disturbed does raise a point...if you're a mechanic you should have this sussed out before hand...especially a project like this. You don't want to go and buy a halfcut and body panels, only to get stuck in and find half of it may not work. Do some research before hand. Gearbox mounting will (without a doubt) have been covered somewhere on this forum before.
  7. Yeah sorry, that's what I meant Less height clearance from top of strut tower to bonnet compared to S13s Likewise, the AWD versions have less clearance than the R32s
  8. Bring atleast 2x pairs of tyres...and have a third pair to drive to/from the event on. Don't even think about trying to get home on a pair you've used. Can of fuel, if you're gonna be hammering it with rich tune. Make sure you're all set up to pass scrutineering: Fire Extinguisher (floor mounted, passenger side of the gearbox) No loose shit inside the car. Long sleeve shirt and pants, enclosed footwear Decent tread on front tyres Battery tied down, marked by sticker Tow points marked by sticker Assuming you have your membership and CAMS license, you only need to pay for entry. http://www.driftwa.com.au/
  9. You think a VK will fit? I've seen a VH fitted in a ceffy (with no bonnet)...but theyre smaller and heavier...the VKs are a bit bigger but alot lighter...would be keen to measure one up and see if it'd fit for a track car. The primer that's on now is 2 pak..but its copped it bad being outdoors for soo long...and I've been using the bonnet as a workbench, so I've sanded that down a few times and its uneven, even down to the metal in some spots...I'll even the primer down as much as I can, but when it comes to paint time, I'll get them to redo the primer if need be...paint is another thing I'll be paying alot of attention to. What about the stuff I have painted already? I've done underside and inside the wheel wells in chassis black...engine bay in acrylic chip resistant black..and with inside the doors and shit..I sanded it down, 2 coats of acrylic primer...3 coats of black, 2 coats of clear coat (but it still chips really easy...so I might sand that back as well and just fork out more $$ for 2 pak when I get the whole car done) ... reckon I can get away with that? or sand it down and go the whole 9 ?
  10. Engine to ECU, including the internal connections. No rewiring in the bay...I can see some patching (possibly WAS rewired at some point in its life) at the ECU end though.
  11. Transmission is still irrelavent...walk int oa car yard and ask for 2-4 grand LESS because its an auto...it doesnt work like that. Even for sports cars. Since Eps hasnt provided recent pics, here's some from 2006. Feel free to repeat that THIS is worth 4 grand. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ho...ro-t111431.html Since you havent made any digs into me or Ceffy owners recently in WA threads, I'm sure you just wandered in here to try and stir the pot a little more.
  12. You guys got the VQ30DE and VQ30DE-K in your Maxima's..from A32 to A34
  13. ImportMonster...it's all still cheap as chips on there ay.
  14. Has anybody used factory R33 brake lines and affixed them properly on their A31? I can secure to the caliper fine, and I can secure into the hardline (and the brakcet where the hardline exits the chassis), but in the middle, where its meant to secure to the bottom of the suspension..its totally different. Has anybody had luck bending the clip on the base, or making up a bracket? or is it easier to get some lines made up with the slip on tab on the middle, to suit the S13/A31 ?
  15. It's a 20 year old auto in great condition, and has barely been f**ked with. Consider that there are alot more than 100-150 R34 4 door auto's in the country too. What does age have to do with it, the KMs on this Cefiro in mention are still low..and I see R34s incoming from Japan with more KMs on the clock. "Bear in mind" that most idiots think their R33s are worth about 9 grand as well...just jump on CarSales and have a look at the prices people ask for cars that are as abundant as oxygen...while you're there, check out the average price of any Ceffies that are in this condition...even over east, they're worth more than 4g's.
  16. ^ you're trying to be a funny man, right ?
  17. Even then, it'd only be the connections to the internal harness' that need modifying...provided they're using the loom that came with the engine and its ECU, nothing else would need modifying.
  18. Joe...why would they need to rewire 'everything' putting a 1JZ into a supra? ...its their native engine ... Bubba, if you can do that it'd be much appreciated. Cheers
  19. Need to get the loom rebuilt in the Ceffy (no, R32's don't fit straight up ). All the connectors are fine, just the wires are all stiff and alot cracked when I removed it, so just the wiring to be replaced, and need to get it some thermal protection. Already tried contacting 4-5 "wiring harness experts" over East, all but one had no interest in the job, the one that did wants $1500 to rebuild it with high end / V8 super car shit...so, before I start stabbing in the dark and calling these YellowPages numbers one by one, does anybody have a suggestion for a specific business that can do this?
  20. VQ30 Made of alloy, newer version of VG VG are made of iron...but still, even VGs have way more potential than RBs.
  21. Fuel should go stale after about 3-4 months and it'll struggle to hold revs up with stale fuel Is it burning up straight away or as soon as the car gets hot? Could just be some spilt oil on the turbos/manifold from install..oil takes a while to burn up even when its on a hot surface. Give it a quick clean with a high pressure hose, if it comes back, then check the gaskets on the oil return lines...the water lines and oil feed don't have gaskets but give them a check anyway..could be leaking anyway.
  22. When did I promote street drift? No news recently about the Bullsbrook one, but if they ever did build that, 24 hours a day 7 days a week it'd be full of 17 year old bogan white trash and their Falcons/Commodores...great place for all sorts of shit to break out. There are a couple of people in Perth that have their own private slabs...only one I know of off the top of my head is Slydr (Sam), DriftWA/Antilag.
  23. You're a driving instructor with a car? Asking this question, of all questions, on a forum? .......... Bring on the flaming. BTW Barbagallo was a shit suggestion. Doubt these guys want to pay for membership + cams license + everything to pass scrutineering, just to do some skids.
  24. Just an update on this...I'm currently doing some research, and pretty sure I'm going to ditch this heavy-ass RB20DET and go for a VQ30DET (possibly DET+T)... depending on how many legal hoops I have to jump through and weather or not IM240 emissions testing returns any time soon. Been tidying up the car a bit the last few weeks, no major progress..just waiting for more money to throw at it (hence the silly idea I've got in my head in the mean time). Will keep you all posted
  25. The internet is a big place..dwell around here if you like boys, or hit up Google.
