  1. im playing normal mode, act 3 and Ive had enough money just collecting blues and yellows and selling approx 70%, salvaging 30% (salvage the low value blues the blues all give the same ingredients and quantities). Only sold 1 thing on the auction house a unique? (Dark gold/brown named item) witch doctor mask i got 10k for. But i always explore areas fully and loot everything. Selling magic items isnt that lucrative where I'm at, better off with gold drops. Both jeweller and blacksmith trained up to the point where i need the pages found in nightmare mode to go further.

  2. changing region = new character so not really worth it. I had friends say they could get on intermittently through the night but got DC'd alot. Like many players that have been with the series long term I work full time, have a partner i need to spend time with, have other obligations too. If I get to put in 4 hours of weeknight play total across the week and 6 or so hours over the weekend that's a fair bit of gaming time for me. So being unable to play when I have time is frustrating, if i paid for an mmo i'd understand but this isnt an mmo.

  3. pings were fine here....but why should it be an issue at all in singleplayer....

Battlenet servers are down :( it says to all games...but wow works fine.

This game is constantly online, so even in a private game by yourself you are dependent on a constant connection to battle.net . Because item drops, characters, etc comes from the server side congested servers or a bad connection can bugger the whole thing up. Hoping it is better when I get home tonight.

  4. Tried playing last night and most of the time my ping was over 500ms, frequently over 1200 ms. Was totally unplayable and i was playing solo too. My connection isnt amazing but it isn't that bad, judging by the battle.net forums i'm not the only one who was feeling the pain. Hope they get it sorted soon, although I'm a little shocked over how many people are kissing blizzard ass on this one and telling people not to complain. I paid good money for a game, launch day or not I expect it to be functional - maybe not perfect - but functional.

And before someone says it, I'm pretty certain it isnt just my PC. I reduced all the quality settings to minimum and my PC exceeds recommended requirements, drivers are up to date. Connection wise I can play other games, use xbox live, browse/stream ok.

  5. Hi people.

As you may or may not have heard/read on "Ask Bird the wise man thread" I was originally in the market with $30k looking for a FG XR6T or FPV.

However shit happened (for one thing certain parts of the Skyline is broken again & since I'm retarded & can't use a spanner this means it is that time of the year in my life to pour crap load of $$$ to get it fixed) & my budget has dropped to $20k, which at this range can only get me old BA or earlier BF XR6Ts which all had the aging 4 speed auto box, which from what I have read is garbage & I'm trying to avoid.

The BF xr6t autos are all 6 speed.not 4 speed and you should be able to get a decent one for 20k. I'd love to get 20k for my 06 with 75k on it but I just wont. I know being over west changes the market a bit though.

As for the 380 I'vr got a mate with an early model and it seems like a decent car, nice features, comfortable, reasonable pull.

  6. signed for sure!

seriously though, wagga wagga is 6.5 hours from newcastle.

when you have people driving from newcastle/central coast to wake field park for their only fair priced track (4 hour drive for me) theres a market for it on the central coast and i cant beleive someone isnt pouncing on it.

There was talk of doing something out behind wyong somewhere but as always too many people whinged and didnt want it anywhere near them. But I'd agree a full sized public track between the coast and newcastle would be a great idea.

As for the track layout I'm glad i'm not the only one who thought it looked a bit basic.

  7. It would want to have some major points of difference to have any chance against the established players. I cant see many gamers willing to go past the next gen playstation or xbox for an apple device, maybe nintendo might feel some pressure in the casual gamer/budget market.

Apple has gotten where it is through clever marketing and making devices more accessible/less intimidating for the average end user. I doubt most gamers need apple to come in and dumb things down.

  9. the main reason for my comment was to highlight that he should check the capacity of the 6 speed auto before he jumps into anything. No use having a 2300 kg capacity if it results in a fried ZF gearbox and a hefty rebuild. And I believe the rebuild cost for the 6 speed is not particularly cheap.

  10. What cars are you towing though?

    RX7s or GTRs?

Towing an RX7. Trailer and car would be pretty damn close to the 1600kg tow rating though. I wasn't suggesting it would be a good idea to tow a full weight GTR with one, just that if you are towing within the rated load they aren't as bad as some here are making out. Not arguing they are the best tow vehicle around just that they arent as bad as some people would have you believe. Having a dedicated tow car or a pricey late model 4WD for a daily doesnt suit everyone's needs or circumstances.

  11. I am looking at getting a new car and will need to be able to tow my R33 GTR, has anyone had any experience with the new Kia Sorento. I would be looking at getting the Platinum in diesel. 2000KG towing capacity

There is also a G6E turbo coming up soon at work (ex company car) which has a heavy duty tow bar. 2300KG towing capacity

Would any of these cars be good for towing??

    Cheers in advance

Ive got a bf mk2 6T and the towing capacity is 1600kg. I'm pretty sure the manual says the 2300kg kit is only for the 4 speed auto. The 6 is limited to 1600 unless it changed going to FG

That said I havent found it bad to tow with, certainly not as bad as some here make out. You have to make sure the car being towed is loaded up correctly or it can get a bit dicey but thats not rocket science. No problems doing 110 on the highways down to wakefield with a car on the back as long as its far enough forward.

  12. Mixing it up with other car clubs is always a good idea for extra numbers, though the NSCC guys make me look slow.

as a side note a lot of clubs had very close bookings over the last few weeks. RENEW was there the week before SAU, so was circuit club, then there was another club on the same weekend as SAU, etc.. I'm not sure if the allocation system is different this year but it certainly hasnt helped anyone to reach the numbers they were after.

  13. I haven't had problems with the 595SS over the time I've used them. In a previous car (a turbo FWD) they were a lot better than some pirellis that cost me a lot more and performed worse. Not hard to control in the wet at all.

At the moment I have 595 RSR's on the front of my XR6T and they never give me an issue either even when its pi$$ing down. There's gotta be something else up with people that are having massive issues, whether its driving style or car setup or something else again. Not saying that better tyres wouldnt help, but considering a very significant percentage of cars on the road (id imagine at least 75+) run worse tyres and that you dont see people spinning out or crashing at every corner in the wet, then maybe it's not just the rubber.

  14. If anyone is still worried about the track I can confirm it is in good condition. Went out yesterday and managed to run a PB with no changes to the car. The only difference the recent rain has made is making the in field harder to get out of without a tow, fortunately we had no one go that far off.

  15. I'm very keen, but I'm little worried about a very small oil leak I have (about 3 drops of engine oil every time I park).

I'll call the track tomorrow and see what they say, if its no worries, I'll pay tomorrow.

I would speak to the guys here running the day. It's not the track that will check your car its the SAU scrutineers.

  16. been done for it before...... got a noise test then elected to go to court .... pleaded not guilty .... and gave the noise test papers over..... fine and charges dropped, if he is legit then follow what i did if it is over and obnoxiusly loud then tell him to cop it and quieten it down

Cheers for that. Gives some hope. Waiting on him getting a test before seeing how to follow it up.

  17. he offered an engineering report with noise readings but i know how little value they are given.

We have a funny legal system, traffic (strict liability offences) are one of the few areas where innocent before proven guilty doesnt apply. Being sent for an inspection at your own cost is one thing but subjective fines is even worse.

  18. Just got a call from my brother, he was fined for his exhaust being to loud (approx $150). What interests me is that he said there was no test done or measurement taken yet a fine was issued. Apparently he will get an epa notice in upto 6 weeks but we'll wait and see what turns up. Being a green p plater in a sporty car though i've warned him to expect this kind of attention at some point.

This isnt a police bashing thread, just an enquiry into what the process is to be issued a fine for noise. I have done some googling but mustn't be searching the right terms. I know workshops need to test at load and on back off as ive been through it for engineering in the past, I would have expected a similar standard from an officer to be able to issue a fine. If the legal limit is 90 db it is extremely subjective whether a car between 88 and say 92 is over the limit. Especially when a car has only been heard at light load and idle whilst pulled over. By all means send them for a test but an on the spot time seems tough -although i can see the logic behind it.

I'm expecting the whole 'do the crime pay the fine' argument but if I can save him $150 that can go towards a new muffler, then why not at least look into it?

    Thanks.
