  1. Yep, the clutch/car is a pleasure to drive. My grandma could drive the thing... All PM's replied Original 289.9kw dyno graph attached. Pics of interior coming soon. Thanks Daniel (PS, find out about the promotion today - fingers crossed for me!!)
  2. Bangaz Boy - not a problem mate. More than happy to meet up with you on the weekend that you're here if it's convenient for us both. There is a little bit of lag with the -5's, but nothing unbearable. I notice it mostly (for example) when I'm caught off boost going up a hill, but shifting down resolves that issue. It is quite comfortable cruising off boost at low rpm's and doesn't take too long to spool up if you don't shift down. I find that there's plenty below 4000, but it's not stock turbo response down low. Ben, The economy surprised me as I had expected it to be worse. Of course, fuel economy is best controlled with your right foot I've got both dyno graphs available. The 290kw dyno was done by the tuner on their hub dyno and i wasn't present so unfortunately I can't comment on it. I was there for the ISMR dyno run at 243kw (sorry, the 248 above was a typo) - I've added it here for viewing (both boost and AFR's). It was a hot day and the car had done a few 'diagnostic' runs before the power run which may have affected the power output. I'll scan the other one tomorrow and post it up. The nismo 'sport' clutch is quite light and very easy and smooth to drive with. Infact, I would maybe prefer it to be a bit heavier!! hehe. My old S15 had a nismo super coppermix clutch and that was pretty light and friendly to drive with too, so maybe it's just that nismo clutches are nice and gentle
  3. Ben, it's actually not too bad at all (considering the mods).. The last couple of tanks have been a good combination of city/highway driving and I'm getting to ~350-400kms with the needle close to empty (but before the fuel light turns on - filled it with 54 litres at this point, so it still had another ~10 litres in there). I don't like letting the car run too low on fuel, so I haven't pushed it to see how far I can stretch the tank! I'd expect that on a full tank of highway driving it should see close to 500kms. This is all on 0.8 bar and driving relatively 'normal' most of the time (well, as normal as possible with a car like this ) Bangaz Boy - I live near the Hurstville area (~25mins from CBD), but can also be at Drummoyne (~5mins from CBD). Where are you going to be?
  4. All the differences I know are listed above. I've got a series 3 for sale if you want one. hehe
  5. I've only very recently bought my 1997 Series III R33 GTR V-Spec, however a likely promotion means that I'll need a car that I can drive clients around in, which means unfortunately (very unfortunately), the GTR has to be sold. I find out if I've gotten the promotion by the end of this week, so I'm pre-empting the good news and placing the car for sale as of now. This is a genuine GTR, genuine V-Spec and genuine Series III - in rare black. It has a very nice compliment of mods already performed, with easily over $15,000 spent in both maintenance and modifications in the last 8 months. There's really nothing more to spend as it's a great, powerful and complete package as-is. Details: Black Series III 1997 R33 GTR V-Spec - 83,500 kms. NSW rego till August 2010. Series III V-Spec factory fitted goodies such as grey trim with red highlights and red stitching; dual airbags; lower front lip; V-Spec suspension; Xenon headlights (lenses slightly discoloured, but will be cleaned/polished to clear again). Original adjustable GTR spoiler Factory Series III rear R34 brake light pattern + rear fog lamp (and the odd single reverse light! ) Standard brembo brakes front and rear Original GTR floor mats (front and rear) - excellent condition! Nismo gear knob 18x9 Volk GTC wheels (Top Secret Gold) with 265/35 rubber - in excellent condition. Alpine CD/MP3 player with I-Pod cable and aux-in functionality High quality alarm system (particular details will be disclosed only to the buyer) Engine/power mods: All mods were performed ~5,000kms ago (at ~78,000kms). I have paperwork (receipts and/or proof) for all of the mods performed. At the same time, the engine was given the major 100,000km service (all new gaskets, timing belt, water pump, all water/heater hoses replaced etc), as well as: Garrett GT2860R -5 turbos 3" stainless steel Hi-Tech exhaust Apex'i power intake kit HKS adjustable cam gears (dialled in to 'N1 spec') Apex'i Power FC Greddy B-Spec II Boost Controller (low boost = 0.8 bar / high boost = 1.1 bar) Nismo fuel pump Nismo 555cc injectors Nismo fuel pressure regulator Nismo 'sports' clutch N1 oil pump New water pump (plus heaps more maintenance/preventative service work done - all receipts available) After all the mods were fitted, the Power FC was tuned by 'TuneHouse' in Marrickville and it made 290kw at all four wheels on their hub dyno (on 1.1bar "high boost"). A subsequent power run done on IS Motor Racing's very conservative dyno saw it make 248kw at all four wheels, again on 1.1 bar. Make of the dyno figures what you will. Needless to say, there's plenty more power available at higher boost levels if desired. The car has just been serviced by the workshop that did the work, as well as checked over by another workshop - both have given it a clean bill of health. The car is ALWAYS driven on low boost - in fact, it's only ever been on high boost the day that my mechanic had it on the dyno. It's more than powerful enough for me on 0.8 bar. As you can see from the pics, the car is built to look as standard as possible (apart from the wheels, of course). There is nothing in the engine bay (bar the filters - of which the intake adapters have been painted black) to indicate the mods that have been done or the potential the car has - everything from the exhaust tip through to the placement of the boost controller is discreet and sensible. Asking Price: $30,000 No deposit = no test drive. I'm more than happy to take potential serious buyers for a drive, but please don't ask to drive the car unless we've agreed on the price and you've paid a deposit. Please post questions here or PM me for any more details. I will get pics of the interior tonight (which show the red highlights in the seats/door trim and red stitching on the steering wheel). Thanks Daniel
  6. Sorry, but I did not offer you $200 - you must be confusing me with someone else. I was happy to pay the asking price and had only asked you for your best price for shipping to Sydney. Anyways, doesn't matter. It's just not a very good/honest way to do things.
  7. Interesting news wutoworx - I had been speaking/emailing with him at svi as recently as mid September...
  8. So you sell something that I've said I'll take to someone else pending payment?! I thought it was sold to me pending payment. Nice work
  9. Hi guys, Did a quick search but it's hard to narrow down an answer: Im terms of offset and brake clearance, will R32 GTR wheels fit onto an R33 GTR? I imagine it's a simple yes/no answer. Thanks!
  10. Anyone know if they will they fit over R33 GTR brembos??
  11. Great. Thanks. Can I please get pics to ensure it's the same as my series III cluster?
  12. Is the gauge cluster working? Any issues with the tacho needle etc? Pics? Willing to ship to Sydney?
  13. Mick and the team at SVI are excellent. I've used them twice to import cars for me (a 1997 180SX Type X; and an R32 GTR), and both times i've been MORE than happy with their service, honsety, commitment, price and business processes. I often email Mick just to ask about prices of different models and he's more than happy to send me a few examples of 'live' cars at auctions to give me an up to date estimate of the market. Can't recommend them highly enough
  14. hehe, yeah his experience and reputation speaks for itself! I managed to get him on a Monday in a couple of weeks (which I was very surprised at). I expect that he'd be booked out on weekends for months though..
  15. Thanks a lot for the information Dave - I ended up booking with Mark - Dr Detail - after I had posted here. Glad to know that Scott is good too though.
  16. Just checking if anyone has used Scott from "Superior Shine" mobile detailing? www.superiorshine.com.au Any experience, thoughts, opinions appreciated!! Thanks Daniel
  17. hmmm... If i can find some wheels/tyres for my R33 GTR i'd be super keen on this...
  18. I'm in Sydney mate. PM me your price/availability please
  19. Thanks Terry - I'm trying to avoid the need to buy a set of 20 nuts just for the 4 lock nuts I require - but if I have no luck sourcing the lock nuts on their own, I might need to look at buying the complete set...
  20. Thanks very much mate - I'll look into it! I've found a US website that sells the genuine rays lock nuts for the GTC, but they won't ship to AU...
  21. Anyone out there managed to find lock nuts for Volk GTC wheels? I'm having lots of trouble finding a set. I've checked with the usual sponsors and have scanned ebay etc for days with no luck. Surely people out there with GTC's have lock nuts!!??
  22. Will do mate - I'm hoping to pull it apart this weekend so I'll report back once it's done. I'm hoping to avoid putting in a new cluster too so fingers crossed it's just a loose connector.
