Sorry Quinton, couldn't believe the interest in the car, and had to let it go to the first to put money down. All the best in your search Hefty deposit taken Shaun -

Terry, I should pay you a commission Its funny how this car came to my attention earlier in the year... Bakes posted up a for sale thread over at rexnet (WRX forum) and we were all gobsmacked at the car. A few weeks later, I was sitting at the mechanics with my STi getting some attention and was reading a Jap Imports mag in the office drooling over the black R34 GTR. I realised it was Bakes car and felt the pressing need to have it. Too many coincidences! Truthfully I'm selling the car because I'm worried that my kids will walk past it and scratch it accidentally one day. I have OCD about car care (as my wife will attest to), and with 3 kids under 7, it wasn't the smartest purchase at this stage in my life. We could also use the money for some house renovations and to expand my GP practice. Hope the car sells and goes to an appreciative owner. I have a tuna/cray fisherman from SA flying up today (spur of the moment) who wants my R34 and a black R35 in his garage.....sounds too good to be true but you never know I'm downgrading to an Evo for shits and giggles - can fit 3 kids in the back (unlike the GTR with only 2 seatbelts!) -

Found a pic prior to engine bay mods, shows how clean the car must have been when imported in '08 and supports a probable genuine odometer reading of 42k Also a dyno graph after engine work complete -

LOL about the getting the wife drunk bit. Good technique that one Cams are standard, all setup for some new ones to liberate a bit more poke - seriously considered it but was scared I'd get on the slippery slope of neverending engine mods and an early divorce... The HKS EVC has 2 switchable in-car maps, 1.2 Bar at 260kwatw and 1.4 Bar with 300kwatw. Inherited a few dyno graphs that show this. Takes a little while to spool up, but coming from an STi, I am used to being in the right gear when planning overtaking etc. -

Could do with an extra lung! Might take you up on that offer if you could give me your liver, mines a bit fragile -
Regrettably I offer for sale my GTR. The car is likely well known to SAU members as "Bakes" black GTR. I purchased this amazing machine off Bakes in April this year after being smitten on its presentation/setup/condition/history and low kms. I have enjoyed every minute of my ownership but family/business circumstances have conspired against my longterm ownership As the topic description suggests, it is a 1999 Black BNR34 GTR V Spec imported by Bakes in '08 with a HKS exhaust and about 26K on the clock. He opened his wallet and intelligently setup the car to show off its potential and maintained its near showroom condition. He spent 20K on parts/labour/tuning to build a stunning car. Mods (list copy pasted from Bakes FS thread as nothing has changed) Engine/Engine Bay/Clutch * OS Giken Cam Gears * Garrett 2860-5 Turbos * HKS SPL Hard piping * HKS Power Flow Pods * Nismo Fuel Pump * Turbosmart Fuel Regulator * Hypertune Fuel Rail * Siemens 610cc Injectors * Splitfire Coilpacks * HKS EVC 6 Boost Controller * Vipec V44 ECU * Tech Edge O2 Controller * Trust Clear Cam Cover * Hi Octane Oil Catch Can Kit * Greddy Air Diversion Plate * HKS Billet Oil Cap, HKS Raidator Cap * Nismo Twin Plate Clutch * Greddy Strut Brace Exhaust * HKS Front pipe 3.5 Inch * Metal Cat 3.5 Inch * HKS Reap Pipe 3.5 Inch * HKS Hi Power Muffler Brakes/Suspension/Wheels/Tyres * Project MU Brake Pads Front/Rear * Tein Monoflex Coliovers * Greddy Strut Brace * Work Meister S1 19x10 +10 Wheels. 93mm Dish Front Wheels. 110mm Dish rear Wheels * Work Wheel nuts * Dunlop Direzza DZ101 Tyres Exterior * Nismo copy side skirts, rear pods * Nismo clear Indicators Interior * Nismo Dash * JVC Head Deck * Window Tints Doors * Black Widow Alarm Since ownership I have installed some Genuine Nissan V Spec II aluminium pedals and changed the oil with a fresh batch of Motul 300V Chrono and Filter a month ago. It has been constantly stared at, gently caressed and regularly waxed within an inch of its life and its exterior and interior condition can only be described as immaculate. The engine has never missed a beat, the gearbox is slick, the clutch is sharp and when the turbines spool - it goes like a stuck pig. I have never tracked the car in my ownership. It will come with NSW rego, plates GDZ 34V (costing $90/year renewal in NSW) Price: $55K with 42K kms on the odometer Contact - preferably after 7 when the kids are in bed 0412801165 drsj007@hotmail.com The car is located in Coffs Harbour, but km's shouldn't deter a genuine buyer - the car is that good Happy to negotiate paying the airfare for the buyer

After reading Tangomatts R34 build, I went looking for CF Nismo one and choked on my coffee when I saw the price.......US $1400 http://www.nengun.com/nismo/carbon-rear-spoiler-flap

Thanks for that info. The nismo side skirts (I think that the ones on my car are "copies" of the Nismo ones) have the jacking points cut out of them but it still contacts the skirts before engaging the groove in the jack. I wonder if it has something to do with how low the car is on the coilovers? It may be that by raising the coilovers a touch, the jack will create a deeper "v" and clear the skirts.... I'll give that a go first Cheers

Cheers Terry I sourced some tonight through Yahoo Japan/Import Monster. Not sure if the price was ok but the coins have been sent

Hi, I've bought an R34 GTR with Nismo sideskirts and can't get the OEM jack to work in fear of damaging the skirts. I will buy a low trolley jack for the garage, but need to have a solution for a flat on the highway if it happens. The Nismo sideskirts have a cutout underneath (to accommodate a jack), but as the jack rises, the jack arm hits the skirts and starts to bend it. Not so good.... I've thought about getting a small piece welded to the jack to give it some clearance but thought this issue may have come up before? Any help appreciated Cheers Shaun

Hi, I've had a look around some of the vendors and some overseas parts sites, but haven't seen anyone selling the later model pedals. Anyone with any clues? I've also searched for the installation of said pedals onto a R34 GTR, but I'm a bit confused. Are they an easy swap from the OEM rubber ones? Cheers Shaun

Hi mate, any thoughts on a price for the rims only? Cheers Shaun -
I absolutely hate thinking up usernames, so typed in Godzilla - looked up the Wiki info and it spat out Gojira Would be pretty cool numberplates. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godzilla

I wondered about the relevance of this panel I was going to try and source a carbon fibre radiator diversion plate like the Garage Defend one - maybe you can put your monicker on it if we catch up in the future. Linton, If you get keen in the next few years give me a bell. It's likely that the car will be in "stasis" as I've got 3 little kiddies and don't get a lot of opportunities to rack up the km's. I suspect it may do 3-5,000 km's/year, and a track day would be nice (although the chances of this are small) Anyway, anyone know where I can source some new V Spec II pedals? Cheers Shaun Addit: I'm not sure why my photos of my rexie have dissappeared from the opening post, hope they weren't nuked by a mod

yeah, still love my rexies. Back to back comparison between the GTR and the STi are interesting. My Subaru had a chip/exhaust/tune (about 180kwatw) + AP brakes/Tein SS and rims + clear blinkers. Other than that, it was stock, had 78 original kms, and weighed in at 1295kg. I think it was in about as good condition as Bake's (apart from the engine bay looking standard). The GTR has 300kwatw and feels generally slower in daily driving, must be due to later spool up. But...as soon as you wind the GTR up, I've soon learnt that I need more road to play The rexies gearing is really short, but it feels like the GTR will pull well beyond 200. One of the 400 Version 6 MY00 STi's. They came out here in 1999 after 400 of the 2 door STi's were sold. They were Aus delivered and sold for about $63K from the dealer.
