  1. its <86dba or whatever the standard is (i think mine came to 83 or 82 dba. Trevor tested it after it was installed with his sound meter and gives you a certificate to keep in the glovebox to prove its loudness. Theres no drone in cabin. Sounds quite quiet just cruising and driving normally but sounds pretty good when you get stuck into it. As i said, the induction noise is quite a noticable sucking noise which i like (as when i'm trying to save fuel i can hear the turbo sucking and change gears) (i couldn't hear this before the exhaust).
  2. The only dyno i have had done was a tuning run after the exhuast was fitted an i got 148rwkw. Which i spose is a 10kw gain (not sure)? But i wouldnt trust it as it wasnt a proper run. Not much but thats everything stock so should be much bigger increase with more boost etc. Boost comes on quicker, even when taking off quite steadily and changing gears @ around 2000rpm the bov will give a 'little' chirp, (3500 > 3800 rpm the boost is much stronger and feels punchier). Also the induction noise is alot more noticable at lower revs. Fuel efficency also got better by a little. Overall i am happy with it. except for the smell lol
  3. Hi I have had a full 3" stainless system fitted from CES and I am very pleased with it. The car (33 gtst) is stock apart from the exhaust so only minimal power gains, but the engine note is perfect and the best thing is it looks stockish with the twin tips. I went with the HPC (ceramic) coated split dump pipe. The only thing i dont really like is that it stinks when it gets hot? i dont know if its the hpc stuff or something else, but the smell has only appeared after the exhaust was fitted (it goes away quite quickly as the car cools). Anyone else notice this or can explain it?
  4. Hi peoples, Just recently got a huge crack in my windsheild from a passing truck . just wondering where the best place to get/or where other people have sourced windscreens. I've tried the local windscreen places but they mainly just humm and harr and pretty much waste my time. best i could get was a windsheild with the nanna spec blue tinting up the top...wouldnt be happy with that. i'm going to try wreakers, but before i sit down i ring them all, i though one of the fine folk at SAU would be able to point me in the right direction thanks John
  5. they are about $400 each last time i rang UAS but the meguires stuff sounds good i'll pick some up tommorrow, thanks for the tip
  6. I saw 50fft today, it looks great with the new mags!
  7. yes was a very nice surprise, very toughtfull of sau qld. so seasons greetings to everyone in sau qld
  8. saw this car at fast fours jamboree this year
  9. that looks the goods! whats the model of them? Advanti ..... ?
  10. yeah i'll have a play around with it tomorrow and see what i can acheive. Sikaflex is excellent....a dedicated automotive sealant (you can get household varieties as well so check the tubes) can get them from ordinary car places that sell sealants. i think you can get a tube of it (for a caulking gun) for around $14.... http://www.sikaautomotive.com/ind-auto/aut...roduct-flex.htm if you want to know more about it
  11. good thread! i have this problem too....(hazy vapour being emitted) I had a look at the spout....its a little wobbly. Also checked the shed and i have some automotive sikaflex. just wondering how you get the spout out? theres like a giant rubber seal surrounding it. Does that come off and then expose the sealing face of the spout? Our do i have to get in under the car to get the spout out to get some sikalex in and around the join? i hnfi lol
  12. anybody know of some reasonably priced digital guages of various types (i.e pressures, temps, etc.) Any personal experiences with them?
  13. ok i will check out the cap situation more. Is it possible to buy a new replacement? or shall i just search wreckers? re the service, it was just a complete oil change everywhere, a lube up and a general check to get the 100% health tick. nothing needed changing so we didn't change them.
  14. thanks for the replys. yep a brake cylinder brace makes perfect sense. i just uscrewed that thread and the bluey anodised bit is like a cradle. cool btw, it is a nismo strut brace, but i have never seen the brake brace b4. the fuel thing still has me worried. it seems like the fuel cap doesn't fit right. does anyone, or could anyone take a photo of the stock fuel cap for me, so i can see if mine is original or not. It has nissan written on it, but now i'm not sure because i have been told that it isn't a skyline cap. but i will try resetting the ecu later this weekend and see if it does anything thanks again for the help, muchly appriciated
  15. Hi all just wondering what this thing is attached to the brake master cyclinder assembly....some sort of adjustment. its attached to a bracket to the upper strut bar. is it standard? what does it do? clicky also i have noticed a sudden drop if fuel efficiency, from like 450km/tank to around 380km/tank. nothing has changed (i.e driving style, mods) and just had a recent service. I have noticed that petrol fumes/heat haze can be seen being emitted from the fuel cap in my drivers mirror whilst driving....this can't be good. I have also been told that the fuel cap cover (the unscrewable one) is not standard. could it be simply a problem of the fuel cap not fitting correctly, or is it a more serious problem. any info would be muchly appriciated p.s. stock as a rock manual 95 r33 gtst kthanxbye
