  1. Hi guys, In search for a stock V35 coupe or 350z cat-back exhaust. Also willing to trade with Xforce dual exhaust system (originally for 350Z, extended to fit V35) plus cash on top Prefer in Melbourne but happy to pay for interstate courier if price is right. Cheers, Peter Please PM for contact details.
  2. I have this system on my car...sounds nice at wide open throttle although it drones a bit around 2k rpm (auto).
  3. Anyone interested in a meet / mini cruise this long weekend?
  4. I have the ContiSportContact 2 on the front and they're pretty grippy. Much less understeer compared to previous jap spec Bridgestone Regno tyres and noise is minimal. Anyone out there have the Potenza RE050A and how long they typically last?
  5. Hey guys, Up for sale is the stock cat-back exhaust for a V35 coupe. In excellent condition, only defect is a rounded bolt for the mid pipe which doesn't affect performance. Pickup from northern VIC suburbs, happy to send interstate if you organise courier pickup. $250. PM me for further details. Cheers, Peter
  6. Spotted blue V35 coupe with LMGT4 wheels and Nismo wing? on little Lonsdale St.
  7. Have actually bought one from the U.S and it definitely makes a difference to my auto 350gt. Sure engine mounts are a more permanent solution though I like to adjust my damper so it isn't vibrating like no tomorrow.
  8. Spotted Silver V35 coupe with black wheels on Lygon st around 8am yesterday. Was that you Superspit?
  9. I've seen water/mud build up in the battery area and the problem was a blocked drain that exits to the bottom of the car. Remove all the dirt/leaves, give it a little clean and it should be safe again. Hope your electrics haven't short circuited and damaged something.
  10. Hey guys, Has anyone used or experienced using an engine damper to reduce the "rocking" when applying power/changing gears etc? Seen some on G35Driver forum and these are the most common ones: Stillen Engine Brace - Mounts lower to the block Weapon R Damper - Mounts to the plenum The 6 speed manuals would probably benefit from this more due to the shock in the driveline though I'm interested to see how a 5AT would feel. Cheers, Peter
  11. Think you mean the VTC gear that controls the variable valve timing.... They have springs in them which can break and cause the rattling noise you're describing and costs around $400 each.
  12. Spotted Silver V35 coupe on Little Lonsdale St and later tonight, a blue coupe in the CBD on Russell St. First time I've seen that blue colour in person.
  13. It's behind the glovebox where the fan unit sits. 27,000Km does sound pretty low but as everyone suggested, just match the condition of the car to the mileage and you should be able to tell if it's genuine. Another thing I found (not related to mileage) was a collection of weird looking leaves stuck between my lower plenum and the engine block. How the hell did it get in there? 0_o
  14. Bought my 03 Coupe with 50K on the clock and just found out yesterday for sure that the KMs have been wound back....found a sticker with 61,XXX written for when the cabin filter was changed. More obvious ways to tell if the KMs are suss are excessive wear on the seats and steering wheel for a really low mileage car.
  15. Headunit still available. Not many brand new units have as much features as this unit for the price and is still in excellent condition.
  16. I find the V35 autos are pretty smooth and responsive, more so in tiptronic mode. Had an automatic Supra and compared to the V, its quite slow by way of when to downshift and overall responsiveness. However the tiptronic sometimes won't shiftwhenever you want since the ECU probably protects the engine from over revving.
  17. The one that's usually faulty is on the left bank (when facing the engine) and has the rubber hose that feeds straight from the fuel line. Part number is 22675-AM60A - Fuel feed hose damper Another thing you can do to test if the existing damper is faulty is to touch the fuel feed hose from the damper during idle. If it vibrates a fair bit like the noise from inside the car, then its faulty.
  18. I used to email Tony@Riverside Infiniti but he has now left so not sure who is the best contact there. Any Nissan dealer should be able to install it for a fair price.
  19. It's a known issue with the VQ engine and I've recently replaced mine with a damper from Riverside Infiniti USA. They sell for about $120AU shipped. Local dealers wanted $300 for it...
  20. I sometimes get the startup rattle as well on my 03 V35 coupe and could be caused by the VTC sprocket (gear for the Valve Timing). From what I've read, it doesn't cause any damage to the engine and is mainly a noise issue. As Iseekool has mentioned, an oil change should help.
