  1. Funny thing... I thought I'd take the car for a spin tonight and whatta ya know, the battery is dead. Car wont start. Lights wont turn on etc... So went to get my tools and jumper leads from the boot... I CAN'T OPEN THE BOOT! The in-cabin button to pop the boot wont work and even worse the boot doesnt have a keyhole so I can use my key. Not what?? Any suggestions? Thanks guys.
  2. So annoying this feature. Japs make such fast cars then limit it... My speedometre stops at 180km/ph. On one track day at Eastern Creek, was over taken by 2 cars down the main straight cause I was just bouncing on 180. I didnt feel any cut off jerks or the feeling of slowing down, the car just wasnt going any faster. So yeah, back to what T4NK was saying. How do we fix this? And when the limiter is cleared, how would we replace the speedometre on the dash so it reads above 180 (like from an US market G35) and also reconfigure the dials so the needle is acurate with the speed of the car.
  3. The 350Z and the 350GT have the same engine so you can probably also check out the 350z forums. There is huge following with these cars in the US so G35driver.com is a good source for mods. But as for all my readings\research, that we can get about 200rwkw NA just from Jap bolt ons. We can also achieve 250rwkw+ on a max of 9-10psi if you go FI with the engines standard internals. Can't go higher as the compresion is too high. (Edit) BUT if you've got cash $$$ I've also have read from HPI magazine this Aussie dude putting in a stroker kit combined with a TT and making 500rwkw. From Factory (besides the weight issue)... I love it. Will be my project car till I am an old man.
  4. Thinking! Dammit... Its coilovers or this. Not both.
  5. Guys, how much does it usually cost for installation?
  6. Buddy Club just told me thier premium Racing Spec Dampers are 14kg / 5kg and their a well known brand. Confused here...
  7. What about Buddy Club Racing Spec Damper kit? But thats my whole $2k gone. Worth it? Anyone have experience with Buddy Club Racing Spec Damper kit on a Skyline? (NOT BC)
  8. Even though the car is 1500kgs? And even if I want to use the car for mostly track days?
  9. Ok so this has nothing to do with having my first kid... Just that since we're having a new baby on the way, we've decided to purchase sensible family car for my wifey to drive... Which leaves my 2004 350GT coupe all mine to do whatever I please... finance allowing that is. First up is suspension. I've done searches but no-one seems to have the same question as me thats so specific so I hope you all can help. This year I have a $2k budget... I have choosen to buy one of the following: help me chose! - HSD HR $1349 (spring rate 12kg (f) and 10kg ® + a set of front & rear sway bars $500 = roughly $2k OR - BC Racing ER series $1700 (spring rate 10kg(f) 8kg® + maybe 1 strut bar = roughly $2k I am not sure really if the spring rates will be a factor. I am not technical enough to know how much this will effect the car. If someone can explain. Also the BC ER series have rebound adjustment so if someone can explain that too, that would be great. Note: The car weighs about 1500kg and standing weight distribution is almost a perfect 50% front and rear. I will drive it on track 70% of the time and 30% on the road so stiffness is not an issue. I want to know whats best for the track for that budget. Thanks in Advanced.
  10. Thanks for the offer Dale. I am definately interested but your April deadline is too early for me.
  11. Has anyone found any where in Sydney that sells and installs any of these?
  12. If you're going to try a flush, when you replace your fluids, you might want to try mix the product WaterWetter from Redline. I've heard great things about it. YouTube it. Im going to try it out next week when I service my car.
  13. Ouch! I hate damage like this! It's big enough to annoy the sh!t out of you but too small to lose your no claim bonus over!! I feel your pain! + 1 for taking notes on cars I park next to. Camera phone is a handy tool for this. However, such a minor damage like this would've hardly if even made a dent or scratch on the culprits door so it will be hard to prove. I feel your pain!
  14. A quick press of the VDC button turns traction control OFF from 0-60 kph. The VDC OFF indicator light will turn on. VDC will automatically switch itself back on (regardless if the VDC OFF light is on) after you reach speeds 60 kph and beyond. Pressing the VDC button for 3 or more seconds will switch it off completely (I usually count to 8 just to make sure). The VDC OFF indicator light will turn on. I have taken the car on the track with this setting. Pressing the VDC button for more than 10 seconds will turn the VDC OFF indicator LIGHT OFF and it will remain OFF (you can't turn it back on just by pressing the VDC button again where in the other settings you can) until you turn the car Off then On again. I dont know what this setting does but I have tried launching the car hard on this setting and the traction control kicked in so I dont know it's purpose.
  15. I had a similar problem. Get the thermostat checked out. After the dealer fixed this, all was normal. Sits just below half way mark on the gauge. Either that or get your radiator flushed and tested for leaks.

  19. Thanks for the suggestions guys. The brakes aren'y sticking at all. Well doesnt feel like it. I took it to EC a week after installation, and the car stopped lol, so I think it's installed properly. As for the Throttle body, unless there's a YouTube clip on How-To, that's too advanced for me! Will need to get someone to look at that. Doing a self service on it next month. I'll see what I can find.
  20. Nothing. Changed to braided brake lines, slotted roters, new pads and new brake fluid. Thats all. Also changed my oil just over 5000km ago. Using Mobil1 5W-30 and Mobil1 EP oil filter. I doubt any of these are a factor?? I dont carry much weight in the car, only a few things like essential tools, spare tyre and a pillow. Maybe I lay off the carbs and charcole chicken with garlic sauce for a month. lol Would a tune help with my fiuel economy?
  21. Just recently, I've noticed a few changes in my car. Firstly the Cabin gets really hot even without heater on. I know the engine is F-Mid mount which means its closer to the cabin but I only recently noticed it. Any ideas? Secondly my fuel consumption is very high. I filled up 20 litres last week with BP Ultimate 98RON and only did about 80 km on it. That's insane. I posted here sometime last year that I was doing between 10-11 Litres per 100km. Now I can barely reach 100km per 20 L ! And honestly, I was not driving hard nor was I on the track! Kept revs at low 3000rpm before changing gears (although in heavy traffic last week). Time for a Tune you think?
