  7. try some led tail lights probably one of the only ones i know off for the r33 coupes EDIT: try just jap imports for those they shouldn't be too hard to find but expect to be paying a good price around $360
  8. hey skyline lovers, had to travel to the other side of town the other day just to get a damn signal amplifier which i payed through the roof for $160.. as i was told the 5-7 square volt wave coming from my ecu (pin 7) yellow and blue stripe wire isnt enough to give me a rpm reading i currently have the tacho grounded and hooked up to me acc it has power but when connected to my rpm signal no rpm reading when the car is started, just when i thought i had it under control with the signal amplifier when it was connected there was still no reading... im ready to smash the tacho and fkn signal amplifier with a big hammer if any body knows a easier way feel free to let me know thanks for everyones time and help chris
  9. someone correct me if i'am wrong but the rpm signal coming from the ecu pin 7 (yellow with blue stripe) is only a 5-7v square wave and isnt enough to power my drift digital rpm gauge there is power feeding through it but when connected to pin 7 and once the car is started no rpm reading so i had to go out and purchase a bloody vdo signal amplifier so i can run my aftermarket digital tacho any enlightenment would be appreciated
  10. its a multi cylinder gauge can be switched once the power is fed to it with a click of a button... went out today and purchased a signal booster for my ecu for $160 as i was told that is my problem as the current coming from the ecu is only 5-7v and the tacho is 12v when i power it to a battery it lights up/illuminates but when the signal wire is connected to pin 7 no rpm reading once the car is running and the gauge is set for 6cl mode
  11. for days on end i have been trying to connect a (DC12v) drift iridium series rpm tacho.. after hours of reading and a few pointless/useless comments i have come across a thread from years ago just to give everyone a rundown on this tryed connecting my electronic rpm gauge to pin 7 my rpm signal wire behind my dash cluster and the + and - to a battery lying around started the car and no rpm reading... will i need a tach booster for my gauge as i have read, along with a resistor to make up a new circuit or should my gauge be working i currently "have" power to my gauge but no rpm reading can anyone kindly shed some light on this i removed the previous tach and flush mounted the new one because the old one looks like shit! i also dont need anyone saying "why did u buy a monster tacho what is wrong with your old one" i'm happy with what i got and some helpful answers will be appreciated ALOT! much appreciated chris.

  13. was reading over a thread a while ago and im not sure but dose anybody think i might have to attach a resistor and a tacho booster i have no signal from pin 7 which i connected behind the dash cluster which is the yellow with blue striped wire i will re-connect it tomorrow to pin 7 from my ecu any ideas/thoughts much appreciated chris
  14. found a interesting thread that makes me think i have the wrong signal wire could it be pin 7? which i allready have tryed behind the dash cluster or could it be pin 53 "which is the Vehicle Speed Sensor signal is basically engine rpm's"i have read to connect it closer to my ecu for a reading but i would have thought if i have the yellow and blue striped wire (pin 7) behind my cluster i should get a reading the gauge is electronic/digital if that makes a difference? here is the thread anyways http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Rp...ed#entry4042455
  15. yeah my advice would be that but as mentioned make sure you prime it not long after to avoid rust as other users have mentioned and try to fill up and low spots/dints
  16. had it connected to pin 7 (yellow with blue stripe wire) behind the cluster and temp to a + and - on a battery i got lying around and no rpm reading will it have to be conencted closer to my ecu for a rpm reading? thankyou for everyones time chris
  17. hey, the rpm gauge that i currently have is flush mounted in my old cluster it has a inbuilt shift light about the diameter of a pencil if not smaller i believe this one looks 10x better i was just wondering if anyone could help with the wiring and how to connect this electronic rpm gauge to which signal wire if not wires cheers chris
  18. this is a head case and a half i really am starting to get pissed off haha, tryed attaching my tach signal on my digital rpm gauge to the yellow wire with the blue stripe after i stripped it behind the dials, also tryed the yellow and the green striped wire and just connected the + and the - to a battery that i got lying around, started the car and no luck... the guy at autobahn said i have to connect it to my leading coil im in a real pickle at the moment my whole dash is apart and from 7p.m-2a.m ive been trying to sort this motherf*%$#r out and it wont work... will i need to connect it closer to my ecu or have i got the wrong wires completely?
  19. hey skyline lovers, purchased a drift electronic rpm gauge just trying to find my tach signal i have flush mounted my gauge and now trying to find the tach signal from my coil ive unscrewed the allen key bolts on top of the head and am now stuck with the signal wire and finding my leading coil can anyone please shed some light on this or will i have to wire it up to my ecu somehow
  20. is the car manual? could i interest you in a straight swap? EDIT: sorry found the answer im looking for... good luck with the sale cheers chris
  21. hey guys recently purchased a SII R33 now i was having a look at the market value for stageas and i was interested in doing a straight swap for a series 2 manual stagea market value is around the same price and think it would be a fair trade just need to line up a swap with someone just a quick rundown on the 33... 96 SII R33 gts-25t low km's only 90,000, hks hi power exhaust, trust pod filter, not many mods fairly stock car well looked after very clean interior/exterior, full soundstream front and rear speakers system including 2 6x9 picasso tarantulars, 2 front speakers of the same sort not sure what size the two front are but currently installed, momo gtr gear stick, isotta gear stick leather cover embeded with zirconias in the lettering of isotta plenty of cash spent only run on bp 98 octane premium fuel full owners history anyone intrested in a straight swap, iam currently living in S.A near noarlunga centre get back to me much appreciated chris
  22. had the same prob with my 33 headunit not working and either are the accessories in the boot pulled out the deck reconnected the wires then everything started working except no power on the screen it still remained black put was powering up making the little noise when you turn on the car and was ejecting could anyone possibly shed some light on this?
  23. just like to get opinions on this looking for a stagea but whats everyones thoughts like the luxurious feel of a stagea cheers chris
  24. i got a kind of different suggestion spent several years in painting/detailing cars have come across alot of different situations before but i suggest to paint strip the whole car, fix any dints/low spots as previously mention, ededge prime it the car,hi-fill it and so on ect, ect, ect this way your car will not have a thick layer of paint weighing it down even further you will also observe that you will get a more nicer smoother finish. hope this has helped cheers chris
