  1. ETA/specs on rims?

Mid July sometime hopefully. At least I have the tyres ready to go so that will not take long. Got 18x10 +5 (max on a 10 inch rim that Work make with O Disk)

In other news.......ended up de-badging as the black looked pretty mediocre to be honest. Took me the better part of two hours to get the badge off with a hairdryer, thread and a precision hobby knife set...and then some good ol' prepsol and heavy buffing and it now looks sweet :)

This was when it first came off and left sticky marks.

This was after prep sol and heavy buffing

Used a layer of colour cure plus rubbish that I had lying around in the shed too.....must say for a cheapish brand it worked wonders....quite impressed

Also....my mirrors have suddenly stopped adjusting.....so went to check the fuse and realized I had about as much chance as scoring with Ellie Goulding as I had of deciphering the language. So I proceeded to print this bad boy out..........

Which was too big....so reduced it and laminated it

and gave the trim a freshen up wittttttttthhhhh......you guessed it.....black acrylic from supercrap

  2. The bling bling "S" in the middle of my bonnet has been bugging me for a very long time.

So I decided to do something about it this morning. Going to paint it black with a clear overcoat. If this does not work I will just remove it altogether.

First step was to mask up the surrounding areas.......Thought about it but did not bother about the gaps in the middle as I am fortunate enough to be painting black on black which will go unnoticed.

Second step was to get out my dremel and sand paper and lightly agitate the surface so that it would hold the primer and paint........

    No pics..

Third step was to give it two coats of primer

    No pics..

    Currently drying....

I am such a messy painter....not to mention entirely wasteful !!

  3. Monkey bar installed....not without a fair bit of monkeying around though - the bloody thing was a pain in the ass to bolt in with the carpet which I had to cut in places :(

I did however put in new carpet inserts which I will get my little sister to stitch to the existing bits.

Looks awesome though and I am well on my way to having my own personal go kart

Annnnnddddd.....got my other bootlid back all painted and shiny.

Will mount the carbon wing on to it and we are back in business.

  4. I would go with Mclaren Orange...and yellow....orange on the rear and yellow on the front joining in flames at the middle....with black carbon bits and black rims etc.

However my dream colour for a track car (if I ever get one) is bright fluro lime green with black carbon bits.

  5. The rear sits just where I want it to which is great. The fronts could do with being 5 - 10mm lower. This is not much I know but I would love it to be perfect. However I might hold off till I get the new rims and then get all the fiddley bits sorted once and for all.

In the meantime....picked up this bad boy - or one like this actually...no pic yet :)

  6. Hey Jez :) how you been? Love the progress. Wide stance is wide.

Was just wondering, are you happy with the current power set up, or do you have plans of achieving a few more horsies down the track?

    Cheers man..yeah all good

Well I will soon have the grip to run a more powerful setup...I already have shiny new custom rocker covers....

    So

    ...e85....front facing plenum...bigger throttle body..bigger turbo and some fun...who knows ;)

  7. Ok I need help on this one please.

I am currently running 18x9 +35 with a 35mm spacer to get the rims sitting the way I want them.

Looking at ordering / sourcing some 18x10s but not sure what offset to get.

Apparently the O disk versus the A disk affects offset as well...i want max dish so going with the O disk.

What offset should I be getting if I want the rims to match my spacer set up atm?

    Ppppphhhhanks :)

  8. Spacers yes....well it was weird....the "package" was delivered first thing in the morning....I was expecting it so had left the door open with the flyscreen locked...I saw the van pull up and an Asian chick jump out with this mysterious object wrapped in black...she just left it outside the door and shouted "arsehole"...I was walking to the door so basically reached in time to see her rush back to the van having just called me an arsehole with this bomb on my doorstep..LOL

Turns out she must have said "household" and it wasnt a bomb it was my spacers..and she was just in a rush :P

  9. Update:

Going to go with the current rim setup for the moment but with bolt on spacers at the back so that I can ditch this sunk look asap. Spacers have been ordered and are in the mail.

Saving again for a pair of wider meisters with lower offset and more dish which I will run on the back and swap the rears to the front. Want it to look mean  !!

Got a coilpack cover bit from Jarrad (thanks mate) and gave that a lick of high temp paint. Probably not going to do anything to that and just leave it black or its going to get too "kiddie" with too much colour. I like the way it looks at the moment even though it might seem a tad "quirky" for some. Will give it a penultimate and then a final coat before going over it with clear.
