  1. how do you plan to tune on a 2wd dyno, when the car is 4wd? pulling out the relay will burn out your transfer's clutch packs. I wouldn't recommend that. Justin... p.s. Wolverine: because the power was already tapering off. no point in going any higher if it's making less power.
  2. that's exactly what i was referring to,right at the very end of the curve, where it the power tapers off quickly and it dips mega rich. he's lifted off the throttle at that point, and the bov has vented, causing it to sink into the 9's for mixture. I agree,it needs a power fc to lean it off safely. Justin...
  3. what type of dump pipe are you running? split, blended,or std? what else is done to the car? where it runs really rich up top would make sense if you have an atmo BOV,and the majority of the curve makes sense if it's a std ecu on a car with the usual mods (exhaust,FMIC,etc). mine has an exhaust, pod, and boost controller, and it doesn't run quite as rich as yours does, and makes more power. I would put it down to the intercooler, and any differences in our exhaust systems, particularly if you run a blended dump pipe,as they tend to run richer on cars with std ecus. Justin...
  4. the fronts on the S2 are clear, the sides are orange from the factory. if you have clears, they were changed in japan by the previous owner. I have my std orange ones at home in a box,and every other S2 I've seen over here has had orange ones as well. Justin...
  5. Am interested in the front and rear discs if you'll separate them. would appreciate a thickness measurement as well. regards, Justin... 0418 663628
  6. you have a pm. Justin...
  7. I can't help that they're ignorant at CRD....and can't read. they did run the car and give me a graph though,so that's something. Justin...
  8. I ran my SII yesterday at CRD. made 154kw atw with the restrictors still in the mufflers. mods so far are: *K&N Pod on a custon intake pipe *profec A boost controller *Advan split dump pipe *X force 3" cat *custom dual 2" cat-back wth twin resonators and cannon. it's not the nicest graph in the world, but I reckon it's putting out decent power for an un-tuned car with a crappy EBC. will run it up again once it's copped a bit more work. am still thinking about just how far I want to go with the car. Justin...
  9. fair enough. so.....what's the MAP sensor there for? purely for the optional gauges that aren't an option on the stagea? while we're talking the whole panic mode thing in the ecu,I've seen that before as well,at about half as much boost as I currently run,as I had too much base advance dialled in at the CAS (thanks CRD...). if it detects pinging,it winds the boost and timing back, and goes rich,as you've described. that isn't what happens at 1.0kg. it CUTS. like I said, you're more than welcome to experience it for yourself, and then talk to me about it. Peter at Advan refers to it as a boost cut,and was adamant about why it's there, and why they don't run a std turbo above it. I may be a newbie to you guys, but I've been around cars (nissans and otherwise) for quite a while now,and actually know a thing or two. being that I'm also a qualified mechanic,I reckon there's a chance that I have at least half an idea about what I'm saying. if I'm not sure of something,I'll say so. if I say it's a cut, there's a VERY good chance that's what it is. anyway, the offer is there mate, and I'd actually not mind your input. I'll be putting my car on the rollers on sunday. if you want to meet up and have a chat about this,pm me,and i'll let you know where I'll be. Justin...
  10. Wolverine: yeah, they use an afm to control mixtures. on the neos though, there's a map sensor that's there to monitor boost, and the ecu then triggers the cut at the level I mentioned earlier,as reported by my the peak hold on my digital boost gauge. if Sk can sucessfully dispute this, great, maybe I'll learn something. Alex: if the cut is actually the AFM hitting 5v,how do you guys with larger turbos handle the problem? are you running Z32 AFMs? guys with far more power than my car makes have been running the std AFM for a long time and still have plenty of resolution left in their airflow maps. I've felt an AFM 5v cut out before on an S14 I owned a while back, and it's way more savage than what the neo does at EXACTLY 1.0kg/cm3 of boost. it's a limiter in the ecu. anyone who doubts this is welcome to meet me somewhere and experience it for themselves. Justin...
  11. So I guess the factory MAP sensor that's connected to the intake is just there for show, and the cut out my engine hits at exactly 1.0kg of boost is all in my head huh? you do know we're talkin about the SII Neo engines don't you? the older 33-based engines might not have one,but the neo sure as hell does. ask anyone who works on R34's and they'll know about it. Justin...
  12. I hit the boost cut fairly often as well,as my controller is set to just below it. it's set at exactly 1.0kg/cm3. Justin...
  13. fergo308....Series II....With scoop....Black and black....With engraved double unicorn....delivery to Sydney. regards, Justin...
  14. you can fit R34 coilovers if you also swap to R34 rear knuckles, otherwise, you're buying two sets,33GTR front, and 33 GTs-t as alex said. I'm fitting a set of tein HR's fairly soon to my wagon. Justin...
  15. And why is that? different outlet flanges? different position? Justin...
  16. I'm running a split dump made up to suit r33's from Advan. is stainless steel, cost me $350,and needed a 1/2" thick spacer to mate up to the cat properly,as it's shorter than the std dump. Justin...
  17. S15's use a different plug design to the S2 stagea for the side repeaters, they fit the guard, but don't connect to the wiring without modification. you need R34 nismo units. I have a set in my car, were $80 on sale from powerplay imports in Sydney. Justin...
  18. I'd be interested in that,as I have been looking to upgrade to HID's for a while. Please pm me to discuss it further. Justin...
  19. I reckon the biggest problem is that it's a C35. if I wanted an NA V6 wagon I'd buy a commodore.
  20. I might be interested in the over fenders,if you're in Sydney and somewhat negotiable on the price. Justin...
  21. thanks for the interest guys, but the unichip was sold first thing this morning. regards, justin...
  22. Hi all, I have a unichip left over from my last car for sale. good condition, and includes the boost control unit. priced for quick sale,at $100. Justin... 0418 663628
  23. well, since whiteline have altered their S14/33 GTSt rear bar, changing the width of the straight section,it's now quite possible that they will fit on,where the ones I bought back at the beginning of this year did not, necessitating the re-packaging and swap for the correct part,as they were approx. 20mm too narrow between the radii, which prevented the front D brackets from being fitted. in the suspension thread that I read earlier in the year the pictures of your first rear bar showed that the links had been filed out to offset the bolt holes, and that the D bush was sitting halfway around the radius on the bar, which to me,is not fitting up perfectly. now,I bought bars based on that photo, using those part numbers, and they didn't fit. the front was fine,as I said above, but the rear did NOT line up with the front mounting brackets at all,and wasn't all that close to the control arm mounting points either. I'd like to see a photo of under your car,and when I'm back at home on the weekend and have access to my digital camera, and my own PC,as well as the receipt from the suspension place that sold me the bars so I can give you the part numbers of the rear bar thatdoes bolt straight on,I'll post up my own information, and we can compare notes. Justin...
  24. I have previously, and found some of the information contained in it to be wrong, particularly the sway bar part numbers listed for whiteline components. I learned this the hard way by ordering them myself based on Sk's listing, and then finding that they didn't fit,and had to then return them, pay a re-packaging fee,and wait a further week for my sway bars. I can provide the part numbers of the bars I have fitted to my series 2,as well as photos of how they bolted in to compare to the photos in that thread of how the wrong parts have to butchered to make them fit at a later date if you require them. Justin...
  25. agreed. front shocks are R33 GTR,the rear is S14/S15/R33 GTST. sway bars ARE R33 GTR FRONT AND REAR. do NOT let someone sell you an S14/S15/33 GTST rear bar,as it will NOT line up with the D brackets on the rear subframe. front radius rods are R33 GTR,and aftermarket S14/S15/33GTST rods will NOT fit, they'll foul on the sway bar links. rear subframe collars will bolt straight in. this is all from my personal experience on my own car.
