  1. all sorted today. fitted a 2nd hand R33 alternator's rotor into my alternator, with a pair of new bearings and all is well, charging at 14.7V... Justin...
  2. the rotor is open circuit on mine, which is one part you can't buy for these alternators. you can buy regulators and diode packs though, but neither of which help me. nissan CAN get a new one over in two weeks or so,but it'd be over $1200 at my price! I've bought an R33 alternator from just jap this arvo for $125,and the sparky at my work is going to pull it down in the morning to check it and see if it'll do the job. I'll likely end up with my old alternator with an R33 rotor in it. the 33 unit looks to be externally the same bar the 0V015 suffix on the part number,so hopefully it'll have a similar output and is in good enough nick to work on my S2. fingers crossed. Justin...
  3. Hi all, my S2 Stagea has popped it's alternator, and I require a replacement. nissan part no. is: 23100 0V017 it's a mitsubishi made unit,80 amp rating. a quick local search on FAST tells me it's the same as an R34 GTT's unit. if you have one of these available, please reply here, email me at [email protected] or call/sms 0418 663628. thank you, Justin...

  5. I was in my driveway workinh on my girlfriend's S14 I'd expect... will try and make the next meet. Justin...
  6. looking good. I'll have to turn up next time, add another S2 to 'team silver'. Justin...
  7. an R33 GTS-t console bolts in IIRC. Justin...
  8. my S2 Stagea RSFOURV ran 14mm bolts in it's std 2 pot front callipers. I'm now running R32 GTR callipers up front with 12mm bolts, and haven't had any dramas. once they're torqued up it's not going to make any difference. not ideal,I know, but there's not THAT much force involved that they'll move around once done up properly. Justin...
  9. east bear don't make them any more. the only item they list in their current catalogue for stageas is a S2 carbon bonnet. and don't bother with powerplay unless you have the patience of a saint. a saint who makes rollies with $50 bills. Justin...
  10. the front park light globes on the S2 are exactly the same in both HID and normal headlight models, small wedge type globes. you can get them in ANY parts shop. Justin...
  11. As soon as the two stagea pods, and the S14 pod I've ordered are ready, please let me know mate, and I'll send you across some cash. Justin...
  12. I'll confirm point 6, the stagea rear callipers use a banjo, the (32) GTR callipers are a flared nut fitting. (32 GTR) fronts are the same deal, you need a custom line. I'm using a Z32 master cylinder, which gives a decent pedal. the std master is not sufficient. Justin...
  13. it was tyres, not suspension. He told me he knew everything already,so I haven't seen a need to reply to any of his threads since. I have a theory for this one as well, but since yokota knows better than us,I'm sure he'll find his own answer. Justin...
  14. the intercoolers are the same. Shroud will most likely be different,as the front bar shape is different between the cars. I have a S2 SMIC and shroud available if you're after a stagea specific part. Justin...

    Score!

the ad says that they're aero fenders, and they don't know if they're normal size of flared. - "normal size?" they're most likely no bigger than your std guards, they just have some vents in them. they'll look pretty anyhow,so it's no loss. Justin...
  16. I don't know huh? ok,keep thinking that if you like. who works on cars and also fits tyres for a living out of the two of us? I know I DO,and have the licenses to prove it. do you? try finding ANY tyre fitter or manufacturer who will endorse what you've said. you'll be looking for a LONG time. the japanese have a VERY loose grip on the concept of safety. the state of their circuits and the way they run events is enough evidence of that, even without looking at the cars themselves. just because it's common practice there, doesn't mean it's a good idea. they'll wake up eventually. that,or natural selection will do it for them. I've run 235's on 9" wide rims before, and that's as far as I'd be willing to stretch a tyre. going down another 20mm is ludicrous, when the recommended width is 255. and while we're at it,a 215/40/R17 is smaller than the original rolling diameter by a good half an inch,so your speedo is out as well. and if your stagea is 4wd,you're slowly burning out you transfer case with the different front and rear rolling diameters of your staggered size setup. way to go dude, you're a pioneer. keep a wrecker's number handy, you'll be neding one soon. Justin...
  17. because that's safe working practice... 235's are stretched on a 9" rim,and you want to run even narrower? recommended width for a 9" rim is 255. 215 is a bit narrow. not everything the japanese do is a good idea. Justin...
  18. I run 17x8" +35 rims on my S2. the fronts are inside the guards by about half an inch, the rears by about a 1/4". the car is lowered with coilovers, and has castor rods up front, and camber arms in the rear, set to 1.25deg neg. I test fitted some R33 GTR wheels (17x9" +30) back when I still had std suspension and they were outside the rear guards by about half an inch. maybe with excessive rear camber on the rear and some flaring they'd fit under, but not with std gear. as long as you don't go crazy, and get equal widths front and rear,I doubt you'll have any dramas. Justin...
  19. that's not a problem ska. there's plenty of room to run gauge wires down around the centre vents and into the area behind the stereo. I have three defi gauges mounted where the clock used to be atm,and it took all of 5 min to mount them and run the cables down to the controller on my fuse box cover. Justin...
  20. they're actually seat belt DE-tensioners. they're loosened electically so you're more comfortable. if airbags go off (i.e. in a crash) ,they firm up,or when the ignition is turned off, you'll notice them turn off,and normal tension returns to the reels. celsiors have this as well. Justin...
  21. my S2 has the black leather interior, and I love it. my windows are tinted, and I use a windscreen shade when parked (to keep things cool as well as hide my stereo, gauges and such from prying eyes),so it doesn't get hot. on the odd occasion when I don't fit the shade, the seats get warm of course, but they don't burn you or anything like vinyl did in old cars. it's also nicer to sit on,and is easiere to clean than velour. Justin...
  22. Thanks for the responses guys, I've picked a master cylinder up. regards, Justin...
  23. How much for the complete wreck? Justin...
  24. the post-it says 'simulator test ok'. it may have been altered for 0.9kg/cm2 of boost, with whatever other items that may have been on the car at the time, that may or may not be there now. those wires were cut for a reason,it may have had an SAFC or fuel cut or speed cut defender or something similar in there before that was removed before export. you'll have to trace those wires back and check the pinouts to see what they are. justin...
