    You can use a soldering iron, but takes a bit of practice.

    That little grey box is weird, looks to be some sort of telemetry or data logging. I know team Sonic races in fujitsu cup etc, never seen that box though.

    mine is nogozone. In gt5 prologue was ranked 8th in time trial suzuka and 9th on high speed ring. Pretty much only play mw2 and rfactor on pc these days.

    Probably, I'd be more worried about what further damage has been caused by blocking the breathers. White smoke is usually coolant (head gasket etc), blue is usually oil (piston rings etc) and black is usually caused from running the engine rich (not necessarily a bad thing).

    Just remember a faulty cas will stop the injectors from firing.

    maybe your ecu or cas? Im just shooting in the dark though.

    Try cleaning the afm probe with some carby cleaner, fixed mine (although run map sensor now). But mine didn't cause any idle issues, just cut out randomly when accelerating.
