  1. I'd planned on sharing a build thread once some parts get in. Won't be any updates until they do, anyhow.
  2. Iain: V35 centre console will be installed at some stage. Still a work in progress, heaps more work to be done. Scotty: Yes on all counts. Thanks guys.
  3. What you see in the picture is a 34 getrag shifter with custom shift linkage and a modified transmission tunnel. And a clutch pedal, but you saw that one.
  4. Yes we are aware aftermarket cams will do that, and we're looking for far more than 400kw, on a stroked 3.5 block, custom manifolds. The 2.5 was fitted on the 3.5 block by a previous workshop. They gave up, job half-done (needed engine management and tuning). The car drove, albeit in limp mode. It's not my intention to keep secrets. Far from it, I just dislike babbling about things that aren't finished. Once I'm confident everything works I'll be more than happy to share. Results > talk. A picture > 1000 words
  5. There's not a whole lot in the way of aftermarket support for our platform. Some workshops I approached didn't have the balls to touch the Stagea. However, my current workshop has done some amazing work on the car, turning the seemingly impossible into reality. Those two times I've made enquiries on here, that's just me doing some private research, exploring certain possibilities. My workshop will make it happen.
  6. Jetwreck: More revs required to feed a bigger turbo... Scotty: They will bolt together, yes.
  7. Thanks for the info guys. 25det heads will fit on the 35de block. But you're right, the evct could complicate things. I'll be swapping to the 3.5 head. Setup is in an nm35.
  8. Thanks for that, but i'm in qld. I'm looking for 8000 rpm with new cams, valve train and Nismo oil pump. 25det head on 35de block, turbocharged. Guess we'll just have to try and see..
  9. There doesn't seem to be any aftermarket cams available specifically for the VQ25DET... Does anyone know if aftermarket cams for the VQ35DE are compatible with the VQ25DET heads? What differences are there between the VQ25DET and VQ35DE heads?
  10. Angus Smart: 34 GTR gb adapter please
  11. Pnmad: sorry couldn't tell u, as the kit is still in the 3 boxes it came in. Don't worry abt the intercooler piping too much, what's more interesting is the exhaust manifolds... But I *think* they will fit. I haven't had time to closely inspect it yet but I *think* the turbo will sit in the passenger side of the engine bay.
  12. Pardon my noobity, but isn't the bellhousing basically just a cover for the clutch and flywheel and doesn't serve any mechanical purpose? If it's essentially just a cover, can't a suitable one be custom fabricated quite easily?
  13. desperately need a m35 manual conversion solution...
  14. pn-mad: nop, it's just sitting in my garage atm... still waiting for the performance shop to get some time to work on it i'm in bris btw
  15. The engine will be built, and it will run a bigger turbo. Firstly though, I need to sort out the EMS and get a manual conversion happening. My tuner tried on the Haltech and said it isn't compatible, something to do with the pulses, I forget what exactly. Has anyone made any headway in manual conversions for the M35? Is the R34 GTR gearbox with bellhousing modifications the go?
  16. I didn't bother taking engine bay pics. It looks almost stock. The only visual differences are some new piping, airbox out and pod filter in, and the intake manifold inlet pipe swapped sides (was on the left before, now it's on the right). Might take pics if I get half a chance tomorrow. The engine is internally stock. Is it true the VQ35DE has forged conrods and crank?
  17. Glad to hear the offsets should be fine, thanks! It's running on the stock M35 ECU atm, apparently the A/F ratios were spot on. Been advised I'll need a Motec M800 to get the whole show going since the stock ECU won't play nice with the 35's variable valve timing. I was driving around everywhere in gears 4 and 5 (Tiptronic), luckily the engine is tractable enough. Other than that there's not much to report, but if you have any q's just ask away
  18. The SAU forums are definitely a great resource on our cars, thanks to you guys. I've had the AFM fail on me once before, on the highway no less. The engine simply cranked out and wouldn't fire up again. I was under the impression the stock turbo had munched itself, and consequently the engine, but the guys at APC here in Brisbane correctly diagnosed it and fitted a new AFM at a good price. This time round though, I think the reason for the engine misbehaving might have to do with the fact that there's a VQ35DE + stock M35 turbo lurking under the hood. Sorry, I should probably have mentioned that earlier. The Meisters are from IM. They stick out a fair bit, so the fenders are in the process of getting pulled. I'm hoping the very slight variance in front and rear offsets won't upset the ATTESA system...
  19. Thanks for the positive comments fellas. I never thought my front bar was anything other than stock standard. What do the Aero sides and rear bar look like? Haven't got the cooler in yet, but that's going in once the car's out of the bodyshop. That, and a tune are my main priorities because the car won't rev beyond 2300rpm right now
