  1. This is the setup I've been running on my sohc 30 (we braced the bracket up after that pic). Ran a autronic 6-1 chopper disc in cas for cam sync. Went from not being able to rev past 4000, to revving out cleanly to 7. Plus just running smoother all round. Currently building a 30neo, am I able to replace the disc in the Neo cas?
  2. Cheers Darren I've already got the 35/40 from my sohc setup (it's a VL) and a re401a auto. I Got the manifold with a heap of parts and it has t3 flange so later I'll upgrade the turbo and manifold or just get flange changed. I plan on putting some type b poncams in it but would just like to see the difference from std cams. Close to 9:1 comp Specs of motor Spool I beams Wiseco pistons Asr 8.5l sump Arp main and head studs N1 oil pump with billet gears and crank collar Cpc plenum Steam pipe manifold Standard head besides springs and retainers Ross balancer Ian
  3. Yep got adjustable gear for exhaust. Inlet was right and exhaust was 4.5 degrees out or it might of been 4.5 on the gear so 9 on the crank, can't remember
  4. Got the standard cams degree'd in set them to 119 on intake and 115 exhaust
  5. Hey lcxu105 I think you may have messed up there with your gasket thickness. Because you're using mm but you are using inches measurement for the gasket. The gasket should be 1.295mm Using the calculator above. mine comes out to be about 8.94:1 using the summit racing calculator (which allows to you to change hg to inches or mm) I get 8.98: 1 Mind you I could be wrong
  6. I've got the bulk of my engine together now Rb30, Neo head, Spool I beams Wiseco 9cc dish pistons. .051" gasket Head studs main studs Standard head and cams to start with but has springs and ti retainers CPC plenum 6boost manifold gt35 6x LS2 coils Running a .001 deck height and we had to deck the head down to 46cc ending up with high 8 comp. I'm hoping to make around 400-450hp with the standard cams on 98 (auto)
  7. Hey guys I have gone ahead with this neo30 build. Instead of starting a new thread I'll just ask in this one. Have just setup the timing belt with one idler and a tensioner (one above water pump). All the marks line up pretty well. Is it worth while getting an Adjustable cam-gear for the exhaust side? I'll be keeping VCT so guessing I dont need anything for inlet side (Standard cams to start with) Cheers Ian
  8. Have a RB30 CPC street version plenum for sale comes with PFI fuel rail and msd coil $750 neg M&W pro 12 cdi $300
  9. Cheers mate. Standard cams to start with. Not sure what it go to. Want to keep vct though
  10. Anyone have any idea with the above deck height- head skim/ gasket combo if I Am likely to run into any piston/valve clearance issues
  11. From what I can workout, If i got .020" taken off the head and used a .030" gasket I would end up with 8.88:1 You are right. Different pistons would probably be ideal. Ive just had all this balanced... So if i dont have to it would be nice.
  12. They are a wiseco piston I was thinking somewhere in the high 8s would be ideal?
  13. ** Just found that cometic do a .030 head gasket.. So if I got them to deck the block to .001. and take the head to 50cc Should get a ratio of 8.88:1
  14. Hey guys, Building my rb30NEo and did some measuring and calculations today and came up with the following Bore- 3.408" Stroke- 85mm H/gasket thickness- .051" deck height- .008" piston volume- 9cc head chamber volume- 53cc We came up with a comp of 8.16:1. Is this abit low these days? Will be running 98 and later E85 at track. We are going to go with a .001 deck height and worked out to get somewhere like a 8.6:1 ratio we need to take the head down to 49-48cc, hoping to do this by milling the head down to get that value. Any thoughts on whether this will be possible? The machine shop will give it a go by just milling a bit and cc'ing as they go. But not entirely sure if we will get enough out of it or any other side effects Cheers Ian
  15. Cheers guys. I think I'll just run it with the standard cams for a while. Would something like the type b 260 poncams be a decent compromise?
  16. Hi guys, Just after some opinions on how these cams would go. They have confirmed 444BB Will suit NEO with vct. My setup is RB30, Neo head with springs and ti retainers Forged bottom end, etc etc Gt35 Wanting to keep the VCT for a bit more response, car is Auto and will be street/Drag Wanting to make around 500rwhp on 98 if possible
  17. Hey guys just wondering if this will be fine to use with the 30 gasket? Was supposed to be ready to go but it has about 5mm going under the gasket. If we use a bit of sealer around that area as well will it be good to go or does it need to be welded and decked again... cheers Ian
  18. What about the new GTX40-88? Haven't seen of too many using them yet, just curious
  19. Cheers man, I'll be using an aftermarket ecu and stepper motor so that won't be an issue. One other thing, how do you go fitting top feed injectors to the 25 plenum, just a case of the right top feed rail? Also great progress! looks good.
  20. Just seeing if any interest... Might build a 26/30 instead of neo30 Have a rb25NEO head in excellent condition ready to bolt onto rb30. Wiseco forged pistons to suit neo30 (done 800kms) brand new rings to suit in packets still, Brand new still in box RB25 ARP headstuds neo fuel rail with 700cc modded neo injectors and a set of neo coils. $1300
  21. Is that a plenum to suit a normal 25? If so how'd you go fitting it on the neo head?
  22. Post to Cairns, 4870 and around $1000 give or take a little Cheers Ian
  23. Looking for a complete rb26 head and intake side in good condition. Must be willing to freight. Cheers
