  1. 0% living???
  2. No worries guys.
  3. An R34 does not weigh 1590kg. How much electronics do you want for 200 kilos?! It better make some toast and service itself. http://linney.org/Nissan_skyline_R34GTT_info.htm
  4. I think Sindows on here is selling his gts.
  5. yes blown ferni. sometimes i think junkies are better off. man I am not going to spend any more money for a year after i rebuild this engine.
  6. I think it's gtrjason. Also I think he blew his engine maybe it's not finished or run in yet.
  7. The engine needs to be warm to do a leak down test so if it's not installed on a car you can't really do one. I would call 10 years and old engine. Dunno about everyone else though. As for 30-40% - I don't have enough experience to answer that one. Everything i've posted here I learnt on sunday from wrxhoon .
  8. That's right 38mm apparently. Plenum gets in the way of everything. And thanks John. I already have one but I'd rather not pay 17.5% on $5k until I pay it off.
  9. Yeah the shift kit. It's not that harsh. You get used to it and you can learn to drive it so it's gentle.
  10. Keep hoping then.
  11. So you got your money back then? If so you are square and there's nothing you can do. As for food poisoning - it's too hard to prove. About all you can do is ring the health department or something like that and if they have other complaints about the same place they will investigate.
  12. Yes you are addicted and no you are not alone. I was trying so hard to cure myself and then my engine blew. Just kick back and enjoy the beast you already have. Of course it's easier said than done.
  13. I will be taking pics for sure. The strut brace is almost touching the bonnet already. I would need to buy a Greddy front facing plenum and a new intercooler to suit which I certainly can't afford.
  14. Don't even think about changing the gearset of the auto. The R34 already has a cooler for the trannie too. It's alright for ordinary stuff but as I found taking it to the track often will kill it. I think you should look into a valvebody upgrade from MV. Check the group buy section. Apparentlt the faster shifts also reduce heat which is what kills autos.
  15. Thanks guys. I'll be calling Fatz. I've decided against RB30 due to clearance issues. I do not want to remove my strut brace or drop my subframe to make it fit and I can't think of any other way to squeeze it in there.
  16. Just something I recently found out. I'm told all the latest Wiseco's are teflon coated from the factory.
  17. I think I'm going to pull the engine out myself and get someone to rebuild it with forged pistons and about 8.6:1 compression ratio.
  18. Split hose maybe. Check the hose going to the boost sensor in particular.
  19. What else was included in that? Engine in/out? Forged pistons? What machining was done?
  20. Thanks cc. Ring lands would be broken. That's the bit of metal between the rings on the side of the piston.
  21. infected flow? I'm on msn now if you are available.
  22. A compression test should show reasonably equal pressure across all the cylinders. It's not really important what the readings are (within reason) just that they are fairly even. The leakdown gaugue that I've seen has a a green area that I think goes up to 30% meaning that anything up to 30% is fine. 20% is a good healthy engine and anything less is probably a new engine. It's worth getting a leakdown test done before buying the car but you need the gauge and air compressor to be able to do it. Both tests are done on a warm engine with the spark plugs out. For compression testing the gaugue goes in the spark plug hole and the engine gets cranked over. For leakdown the gauge goes in the same and the engine turned until the valves are closed for that cylinder. If you are watching Jerry - I was paying attention .
  23. Maybe not 300 but I would think that 250 is acheivable without changing anything else.
  24. It's blown. number 6 has half the compression of the rest. Interestingly, when we did the leakdown test one of the other cylinders was in pretty bad shape also and that wouldn't have been from the incident. I've decided not to go the RB30 because of the clearance issues. I do not want to remove my strut brace or drop my subframe. One messes with the cars handling and the other is plain dodgy. If I put a Greddy front facing plenum on and got a new intercooler to suit it might be ok but I just don't have the money for that. Are you ready to help me remove and refit an engine Ed? Big thanks to wrxhoon for the help in diagnosis yesterday. I appreciate it mate. Has anyone got an engine hoist they're not using for a little bit?
  25. I think there might be an air leak somewhere. There are so many hoses in there you just have to go throuhg them all. Try leaving your engine running and use your ears to find the hissing sound.
