  1. I'm guessing that the meet up got moved to Stones Corner because too many people were being absolute dicks while there and when leaving? If it's at a store/cafe whatever people should at the least show a little respect for the people who run it, play nice, buy some product all that jazz.
  2. So it's 7:30 at Baskin and Robbins, Chapel Hill tomorrow at 7:30? Hopefully I get off of work early enough tomorrow to make it, going to be a bitch of a long day being my final one before I take three weeks leave. Hope to see a few people down there!

Just got my new baby, a black R34 GT-T, today. I'm in the inner west area (Indooroopilly, Toowong et al) so hopefully I'll see a few of you around from time to time.
  4. I picked up my car today and it has a set of Tein coilovers and an EDFC already installed, yay for me! However the car is a little low (I think) as when I hit a bump while cornering, or while cornering at speed I can hear what sounds like the wheels rubbing on the guards. It has stock wheels fitted so I doubt it's the size of the wheels causing the issue. Is there anything else that could be causing this noise or do I just need to get the suspension raised slightly to eliminate the rubbing?
  5. These meets still going on or did they get canned after the floods? I'd be keen to come along and meet a few new people.
  6. That's what he gets for being a douche I guess. Still a damn shame to see such a beautiful car get ruined
  7. Picked up my new baby today Pic below. Happy as a pig in mud, took it out for a nice long cruise, figured out what most of the switches are for (got a couple of switches I can't figure out as yet, one with a picture of a steering wheel near the gear stick surround and a weird little potentiometer installed under the dash but in an easy to reach position), can't figure out how to make the sceen/CD player work... I'm guessing it's stuffed or I'm just an idiot. All in all I couldn't be happier. Getting a new alarm/immobiliser installed on Friday then it's off to get the gear box overhauled before I start chasing down a few more ponies to cram under the hood
  8. To get that all changed over (stock system removed, new AC controller etc) that would also require the double DIN face plate, new brackets and something to stick into said DIN slots (as well as the new AC facia.) The AC unit it's self is the same for both positions, just with the different facia and brackets to hold it all in correct? At least getting all new face plates would save me the trouble of repainting them all The car I'm taking ownership of in a couple of days is showing signs of peeling/scratches on a lot of the plastics. Got to love the shitty pain on the R34's...
  9. So after doing a bit of reading (thanks search function!) it is fairly obvious that the Xanavi unit in the GT-T is more or less uselss as a GPS, but can be used to pump out DVD's/TV if the unit is still functional. I was just curious as to what other people have managed to achieve with the screen. I am sure that the combination of time + loads of cash = whatever the hell you want but I wanted to know what people have done to get different functionality out of the unit so I can start to suss out my options. From what I have read it seems like the main options are: - Ripping the whole thing out and sticking a triple gauge cluster in. - Hooking a converter or after market DVD system up in the boot to at least get video options. - I have seen a couple of fancy pants in car computer setups as well. What else has been done? Has anyone successfully managed to get GPS up and running using a system such as this. I love the idea of having the in dash Nav/DVD as an option but if it is too much hassle to get up and running then I might just go with the triple gauge as a replacement instead.
  10. Hi all, I will be taking ownership of an auto GT-T next week and the first thing I want to get done (after a full service and new fluids) is to get the gearbox overhauled. I'm looking for recommendations for good workshops in Brisbane/Gold Coast that can install a shift kit and give the box a thorough going over. I want to bring the final power up to around 220-250wkw and want to make sure that I have all my ducks in a row in regards to the drive train before I go chasing more power as the last thing I was is to blow up my gear box because it wasn't able to handle the power. I'd love to get it done by the guys at MV Auto's in Adelaide but I'm not sure a trip there and back is really feasible so if anyone knows a good workshop in SE Qld that can do similar quality work that would be great.
  11. Hi all, After the floods in Brisbane claimed my DC5 Integra (thankfully that was all the floods claimed off of me, too many others lost far more then I did ) I have decided to come on board with the RB brigade. If all goes well I should be taking ownership of an automatic '98 R34 GT-T by mid week. Almost entirely stock apart from the exhaust and a lovely set of Tein coil-overs and EDFC. The car needs a bit of TLC but it's hard to find a Skyline, or any 13 year old car for the point, that doesn't need a bit of loving from a good owner. It's in decent shape according to the guys at APC at Underwood (to quote them "About what you would expect from a 13 year old Skyline and in much better condition the many of them on the roads." They were good, friendly guys, will definitely be going back) so hopefully it will be the start of a long and loving relationship with my new car as I slowly try and coax it up to about 220-250rwkw. First stop, new rubber, shift kitted and strengthened gear box and new intake before a full service and a tune on the dyno to see where we stand! Hopefully I will get to meet a few of you up here in Brisbane as time goes by and share some good times and the odd cruise/meet up as well.
