Thanks... i will definitely look into it. Btw, does TPS mean Throttle Position Sensor? And what did Mofo's-R-Us do to your car?

Hi guys, would anybody have experienced rattling noises from their engine bay? I am driving a R32 and this rattling noise seems to be coming from the throttle body. The sound comes and goes and the worst part is, it sometimes whirrs when I am accelerating. It is similar to this problem as quoted : http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=25954 and i quote: "I am experiencing a weird tapping noise that appears to be related to the engine speed and temperature. When the bonnet is down, you can hear it pretty clearly just by standing behind the front wheel. With the bonnet up, it's drowned out by the engine noise / injector clicking. It goes away eventually when the engine's warm. It's louder while idling." What is the cause of such a problem? Is it the lifters or throttle body? Anybody knows how to clean lifters and throttle body? Or recommend any good workshops that can do it? Many thanks to you guys. I totally appreciate it. Any advice and info would be helpful.

Hi. I am a fellow skyline driver and have a similar problem to yours (as below). I am wondering if you have found the cause of the problem. I would like to hear from you soon. thanks.

wat is the brand of your boss kit? Are HKB ones inferior to those from autospeed?
-
PM sent. Thanks
-
Thanks... but are there any alternatives? I tried at Autobarn. They had one that comes in a pink coloured box. I forgot its product code number, but did check with the forum here and found that it is not actually a Hicas boss kit.

Anybody know where I can get the above Boss kit in Victoria? If not, the original steering wheel for R32? Many thanks.

Koni Sports Adjustables
Nismo_286 replied to Nismo_286's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thanks Mick. But, you have adjustables (with knobs) for both fronts and rears? Are your dampers of the same kind for both the fronts and rears? I am recommended a set of four with the fronts having knobs for adjustment. But for the rears, I have to take them out to adjust. And I do not really like that. I was hoping that I can, like the front dampers, adjust by using knobs. My feelings go out to "slip" too. I understand that the ones I was recommended are of the twin-tube kinds and based on what I read on the whiteline page, they are the more economical versions of sports dampers. Mono tube dampers are better for sports driving, albeit that they have a more "bouncy" ride to it. Kindly comment. -
Just wondering how many of you guys are using Koni Sports Adjustables. (The ones with knobs for the front dampers and none for the rear dampers) Firstly, does anyone know if the above mentioned are twin tubes or mono tubes? Anyone having mono tube Konis on their Skylines? Secondly, I was told that for R32, the Koni Sports dampers are derived from the S14. The bushings meant for the S14 are changed to fit the R32. Can anyone verify this? Million thanks.

Can u PM me too? I own a R32 as well... Have been feeling paranoid eversince i got my skyline.

R32 Parts, Gotta GO
Nismo_286 replied to Eddie's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Sorry to hijack, but is your air-conditioning not working? By replacing the sun sensor and other sensors, would it make your climate control work? -
You mean Nissan in Lilydale? When did you last see it? I might give them a call on Monday. Thanks mate.
-
Thanks man... Does it come with an air bag? Cos' mine doesn't.
-
Hey, can you PM me the ways of breaking into skylines... I am worried for my car as well... Thanks...
-
Appreciate it... Here is a pic which was sent to me by another guy from this forum (apologies, I forgot his name). Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Yoke

Thanks for the prompt reply. Sorry, but wat is the meaning of "pox."? Is your stock steering wheel in good condition? Hopefully i can get it off you. How much are you willing to part it for? I am driving a R32 GTST. You are lucky that yours come with an aftermarket steering wheel. It can be a bitch when it comes to installing them.
-
Hi guys, Anybody in this forum from Victoria (preferably within zone 3), can give/sell a stock steering wheel and air box? My steering wheel is worn out very badly - so much so that I have got to get a steering wheel cover to cover over it. Kindly email me at : [email protected] Or message me. Thanks alot. Looking forward to hearing from you guys. Yoke

Help: Tyre Scrubbing
Nismo_286 replied to Nismo_286's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thanks to all of you for your input... FYI, I have gone back to the shop that sold me the rims - the staff has promised to change my fronts to a +35 from a +45 offset. -
R32 GTST: 17" Wheels offset
Nismo_286 replied to Nismo_286's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thanks... I just saw your reply with regards to offsets. Why didn't you have the rears at +38 offset (the same as the front)? Is it because they would actually rub against the wheel arch? I am contemplating if I should get my 17x9 rears (at +45 offset) changed to +38. Kindly advice... Thanks - once again.... *lol* -
Help: Tyre Scrubbing
Nismo_286 replied to Nismo_286's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thanks nissky. R your offsets the same for the fronts and backs? What is the size of your rear wheels? I am having +45 offset on the rears, but they r not rubbing against anything. Do you think that I should change them to a +38 or +35 offset? Thank you so much. -
Is it normal to have 2 different kind of offsets for the front and the rear wheels of a R32 GTST? I was told to have an offset of +35 for the fronts and +45 for the rears. Kindly advice. If possible, can any of you state your offsets and size of wheels that you are having. It would be nice to make a comparison.
-
Hey mate, what kind of offsets r u running on both fronts and rears? 18's r sweet.
-
I fitted 17x8" wheels in the front of my R32 GTST. However, the tyres keep scrubbing onto my front strut arms (or is it the steering arm?). Thus inducing some tyre noises everytime i turn at tight corners and brake hard. Are the wheels offset wrong? I read that an offset of +38 is used for the stock wheels. And my aftermarket wheels are having an offset of +45. Kindly advice. Also, because this wheels are just 2 months old, do I have the right to complain to the tyre shop. Afterall, they were the ones who mentioned that fitting the mentioned sizes would be of no consequences. Last but not least, if i stiffen the springs, would it reduce the tyres scrubbing? Thanks guys for your input.
