Hi guys, just a quick bit of info as to why I want to get some info on special paints for car panels. I am nearly finished in year 12. Today I went past a smash repair shop and got a nice wheel arch panel with two average dents and many scratches. I took out the first dent, sanded the entire panel down, then filled the second dent with bog (remember, just practice) and filled a few other cracked areas too. I am going to apply putty, paint and clear coat to this panel to see just how well I can respray and fix a panel (so far so good). What I would love to know, is how to spray shops achieve those AWESOME paint jobs where the car looks like one colour, but when you see the car in the sun, the light makes it look like a whole new colour. For example, I went to the Sydney tattoo convention a few months ago. They had a nice Orange Falcondore, but when you looked at it from ANY angle, the centre of the car was purple and the rest was orange??? If anyone can give me any clues or links as to how you can achieve this paint job I would really appreciate it, as I have a spray gun too, so would love to be able to test it out. Cheers.

Hey guys, just quickly wanting to know whether anyone knows is there are any boss kits to fit a saab 900? the reason I ask is because my steering wheel is SO worn that a huge chunk of the rubber foam stuff has been coming off the wheel, now thereas a huge gap with just a betal tube showing, so I really want to replace the steering wheel? Also, many peaople tell me both sides of the story, but are aftermarket NON airbag steering wheels illegal? Thanks alot for the help.

OK, so I was able to sit in a supra today, and my GOD was it great I sat in it for atleast an hour lol. I know this is only the comfort side of things and I havnt driven any of them yet, but from what I can tell, a supra aint bad when I sat in it I thought that its impressive its p plate legal cuz its just soooo beautiful what I though would be the PERFECT match would be the supra with the R34 gtr stock seats (the greyish purple type ones with the small grey dotas all over them) (if u want I can post a photo of the ones I mean). I believe those seats are unbelievably comfy lol. anyway, wen I am ready to find a car I want, where should/ can I go to test drive them? just dealerships I guess? Cheers.

ye haha, I was with my dad when he called the insurance company a few weeks after I did stuff to my car. He told them that I had a few modifications on it, they said that they do not need to know what has been done, so he asked if the conversation is being recorded, she said yes, so my dad proceeded to just say everything I had done to my car without them wanting to know, then hung up lol. He hates insurance companies cuz he knows what they do, theyr are your best friends, then something happens, and they dont remember anything u say lol.

All gr8 advice, I rly do appreciate it all. I may just get somewthing like a little trueno or something in manual till the years are up I dunno. And in regards to p platers, it seems to me that all p platers where I live (Hornsby, Sydney) do nothing wrong, I havent seen a single p plater do anything wrong in their cars yet, I know they are out there, put just putting it out there, not too many ppl around my around are car nuts except the full license drivers anywho

Ahh ok now i get it, and u still cant go past it a whole lot cuz u can do a turbo or engine mods, so NOW I understand how they are keeping p platers under the powerful level what a pain Do you think chipping an na car is worth it? and wuld it be p plater legal do u think?

by that do u sorta mean that u cant by a car if its factory tune puts the car higher then 200kws?

REALLY? extractors are illegal? dam, my mate got them done but in all honesty, HOW would a cop know what is illegal and what isnt? unless he was like, some mad import nut, then he may know, but how would they know? they cant take your care for testing on 'suspicions' can they? and I know this is dumb, but they say p platers cant be over 200kw or something like that, again, can cops tell if your gonna be like, 5 kw's over? thanks for the fast reply btw

Hey, quick question. If I was to get a supra sz and got the entire exhaust system done with wider piping etc and then put a pod filter with cold air intake. If I was to get it dyno tuned, how much, or would there be much, of an improvement in regards to the kw's it puts out?? Cheers.

Im on p's aswell. Right now am driving an auto saab 900s its ok though, cuz i drive it in the '1,2,3' gears hahaa I was soo hooked on modding it, so I got a cannon put on, ripped out the airbox and put a pod and did a complete cold air intake. then for boredness sake I chucked in some iridium spark plugs. Anyway, the car still seems to JUST keep up with the granny infront of me, even htough I am gunning the shit outta it and THINK that I am going fast, but in reality, I am just a turtle with loud movements Anyway, I am trying to decide what to get after year 12 as I will have a bit of cash to spend. my car atm is srsly coming apart, the brakes crunch when I turn, theres always something having to be fixed etc. and after ALOT of thought I am PROBABLY, probably gonna getta na supra sz, cuz its manual, rwd, and I personally LOVE the interiors 'fighter pilot cockpit' style int. I ofund these stats on supra sz, not a whole lotta info regarding 0-100's etc but still good to have bookmarked. Either way, if its looks, I would want either an R34 or a Supra. Interior, DEF supra, but thats my opinion I am also in the understanding that a supra will be faster then a skyline if both are NA. BTW I have never been pulled over for my cannon (my p's are visibly showing too, AND I live in Sydney, so the cops are real prix). I have only been pulled over once, that was for driving like a maniac only because earlier that day I got a ride in a V8 supercar at eastern creek, so the adrenalin was still pumping. the cops breath tested me and said NOTHING about my muffler, and didnt even bother checking engine, just checked p's were showing I might be too late sending these links, but anyway, gl

Funny you should mention this car. me and a mate went car searching (I was helping him find a car since he crashed his civic) and he ended up getting a 300gt (p platers cant drive 350gt). he got it with aftermarket rims for $15800, and it had only done something like 29000 km's. it has 191kw and it very nice inside and out. but in all honesy, I just do not like its size and its 'luxurious' interior. believe it or not, I hate luxury cars, I love the interior of a race/ sports car lol. were picking up the 300gt on wednesdya, so I will be able to give it a good drive then (hes letting me drive it), but ye, I appreciate the thought and recomendation, but I am not really into those cars. I know its a very safe car and all, just not my style. AND I know what you mean about it picking up ladies, thats why he wanted it But I dont really care what appeal the next car I get is to the woman haha, I mean hey, girls dont mind my saab that im driving right now anyway

Gr8, thanks. so basically a 5 speed manual supra is the same as 6 speed, except the time spent in each gear will be slightly longer? (if that makes sense)?

Although I have noticed that all, or most of the sz supras (the non turbo p plater friendly ones) that they are only 5 speed manual. What would the top speed be? and are there any real draw back, or any advantages to having a 5 spped manual over a 6 speed manual? cheers.

Oh ye And actually, around where I live (Hornsby/ Asquith) I see millions of rexs, evos, skylines and falcondores, but I have only ever seeen 3 supras, and one wass out near turrumurra, so I reckon it wuldnt be too harmful to see another supra poppin around Hornsby

I dunno bout hondas, never really liked em too much sorry Still between a skyline and a supra now haha, my minds changed a million times in the last 4 days, so whos to know what I will be wanting in 5 or 6 months time But I do like the sound of 160-170kw NA supra with RWD, sounds awesome

HMMMMMM...... Now I am also thinking about a supra that is also one of my favorite cars haha. The Skylines and supras are my favorite cars of all time. is it hard to find a non turbo supra? if so, how much would you be looking to spend one a good quality one? there are 6cyl 3.0L non turbo ones yeah?
