  1. 2 things, 1 double check the entire ring gear for worn teeth, its possible that if the engine comes to rest in the same position as where the worn teeth on the flywheel line up with the starter motor it won't mesh, 2 the starter motor may throw out the drive gear but will it take a load at the same time? It's possible the one way bearing is stuffed hence it will work fine on the bench but not when it's in the car. Something as important as a stater motor you have already wasted time and effort with trying to save money having it repaired just do it right and replace with new. Hope this helps
  2. If its breaking down under load most likely it will be an ig fault. But have them double check cam timing and cas timing, If the locating key on the intake camshaft has broken without them noticing they may have installed the cas one spline out. If timing is all correct with everything sounds like you've got a def ig fault if its under load.
  3. Which part is broken are you saying its the cam cap or actually in the cylinder head? Also how is it broken and where? If its the cap then there is a possibility you can source another but you will need to then have it line bored at a machine shop to make sure it's true, but by the time you do all this it may end up cheaper to just source another cylinder head that is in better shape. Don't forget that it won't just be the line bore expense but also a skim, pressure test and while your at it have the valves checked, guides and cam clearance also checked and adjusted add required. I hope when you say its cheap its $200 cheap because it can add up quickly if you want it to be right. My advice find a cylinder head that has low kms and start with that, or if you can afford it new is best. Hope this helps you

  5. This is an old topic but i had to say something about the attack to weeds, why so hostile towards a guy that has a real tk? Just because it doesn't come with your "one size fits all" parts list does not mean its not as real as your inability to do some proper research on the topic of tk cars. Are you aware that before tk changed hands and everybody who worked with the company left, there were many "demo" models for actual employees at tk made hence the vast range of mods made to all 400. You may also note that the "type" section on the mod plate matches the chassis number. One more thing to add, why dont you prove that its not a tk instead of just throwing accusations made because you read 1 info list on 1 tk!! Honestly if you had a vl commodore verses a brock vl commodore its clear to say it holds far more value hence why this tk is worth more because it is authentic and your paying for the placard at the end of the day
