  1. Hey rob - your gtr was a beast when I saw it at crd, have u run it yet? Roy - chev invested more r&d in power whereas nissan invested more in technology...imagine the gtr with 700hp? Horses for courses really, depends on what tickles your fancy, I appreciate both cars! Is the zr1 priced the same as the gtr?
  2. ^ what a list! MOV35GT is 1st place with 58 vehicles owned! Ironchef is a reasonably close 2nd with 43 vehicles...wow, ive often felt guilty for the time & money ive spent on my toys - thanks to this thread, i feel much better
  3. david - how is your drag r32 coming along? u can only imagine how much the guy pumped into the lambo to convert to twin turbo + other engines mods etc...i bet he has spent more on his engine than the purchase of a gtr heck - lets race a mild worked gtr with an 'off its guts' porsche, that would be another fair race too! besides that, the r35 smashes the lambo up to 230kmh? quick story: the guy that i bought my adm gtr from is a very good driver, he used to pull 1:07 around wakefield in my adm gtr on slicks, factory power (so now we all know he is more than capable). he recently bought the BSM gtr to add to his awesome collection of cars. he flew to philip island to track test the r35 & his words "i simply couldnt come to terms with the sheer acceleration, braking & cornering ability of the r35". i think i could giveway the gear shifter & clutch for a much better car. r13nismoid - comparing factory cars is a great test, they were engineered to run this level of power & not everyone modifies their vehicles (other than us donkeys on sau haha)
  4. Its funny though, track test a jap bike which doesn't have ohlins suspension and brembo gear and it is still quicker than the italian bike...now imagine if the jap bike was running that gear, how much quicker would it be? Yeah the rs250 was a good bike, I had 2 rgvs and they were no where near the aprilia
  5. Well I could say "why does it matter what I rode" but I won't (just jokes) U ready for it...it was an aprilia rs250 (yep, italian) My passion like many is the 1000cc and u can't beat a jap bike + they are cheap as the euro bikes are waaaaay overpriced (200%+) and when a jap bike overtakes u on power which is inevitable, it hurts the cafe cruiser hehe
  6. Am I talking about oem bikes that battle out every major road and track test, i.e. world masters, isle of mann, motogp, formula xtreme! I used to race production yyself so I potentially know I little more than you about 2 wheels
  7. Lol I ran that google search, don't buy a 458 italia as it might burn your ass! They call italian bikes 'cafe cruisers', why, jap bikes out perform them in every way (although the s1000rr is a beast)
  8. In 10yrs time, we will look at a manual gearbox similar to the way we view a carbi - it is sad
  9. I do like having a clutch under my foot, I do agree with u! R35 is playstation but this is where technology is heading
  10. Well it is a skyline forum, unless u own a lambo haha
  11. Fair enough, bang for buck u can't beat it for performance though. Zebra - what do u drive? I luv my adm r32gtr
  12. This is true but the zr1 has 700hp, the gtr is true engineering with much less hp we all want an r35, just admit it
  13. ^ yes! Finally...I here some common sense! Tell me what car pulls a 7.24 on nurburgring???
  14. f**k i find you annoying - who are you trying to impress HA! so u know your ADM GTR's? that is good hear
  15. the R35 IMO is 1 of the best looking vehicles to date
  16. time to put this thread to rest HAHAHAHAHAAAA! check this out! http://www.wimp.com/dragrace gallardo is not in this race, however, the gallardo runs a 12.4 1/4mile where as the GTR will runs a flat 11 (both in factory form) none of this converting to twin turbo stuff which would cost an absolute bomb on that car - long live the GT-ARRRRRRRRRR
  17. where are u paul - update please!
  18. manual makes it more of a drivers car IMO. i was referring to the gtr with my post, for me its the ultimate machine although it becoming a bit like a playstation (could also say the same thing about todays f1's) even todays bikes now have traction control ,abs, wheelie control, launch control - u can hold a bmw s1000rr on the rev limiter & release the clutch safely - its idiot proof BUT where is the fun...u cant do 100m+ rolling burnouts @ 100kmh in 2nd gear like an earlier model bike i definitely appreciate todays technology but its removing the added skill of a good driver & what sets that person apart from the rest
  19. I totally agree with u roy, todays cars are becoming very quick but also point and shoot! In a drag race, a better driver is no faster than a slower driver. And yes, nothing beats launching 700bhp @ 9krpm!!!
  20. I love the Lambo & would take it over the GTR, but bang for buck - you just cant beat the gtr Here is an interesting perspective... The guys who run Autostyle (Gerry/Dominic) have driven many cars they get in their workshop. These included the Lambos (Murcielago, Gallardo etc) Porsche and numerous Ferrari's etc. They believe that the R35 GTR is the most balanced and quickest car to drive. The only car that beats the R35 GTR is the Ultimate GTR. The Ultimate GTR is a kit car from England and can pull more G’s around corners than any other production car. Because it is a kit car, it has no aircon, no radio, no nothing. Even the windows don’t open. They are powered by a 350 Chev with Porsche gearbox & race setup suspension. Their Ultima GTR was street registered but they could handle not opening the windows. They installed aircon to the car but also added a T51 turbo to counter the power loss for aircon hehe. They sold the car but the new owner had the turbo removed as it scared the sh#t out of him. Overall Gerry believes there is no better car than the R35 (although you'll get far more attention in the Lambo from the girls HERM HERM).

  24. 10 4 - you're on a good roll, 18 cars @ the age of 19! ARTZ - i hear you about the 'mid life crisis harley'...that has been on my mind since i sold my last bike - i would only consider the nightrod though as it is a performance bike. there are some good old school cars here, pulsar ET, cordia & off course my dato 1600 which i greatly miss! that had an fj20t which i converted built in 1998, owned it for less than a year & was stolen with a tow truck as i removed the timing chain the day before to replace it (luckily i found it again & sold it quick smart). it simply was not the same car
  25. great to hear that you use your car & not afraid of putting kms on it i was leaning on my mate to offer you advice on the WMI - i personally have had no exposure to it. oh & say hi to paul! i spoke to him a few days & he'd mention that he was looking forward to meeting you! he has a PhD in GTR engineeering haha
