  1. Another question. Does anyone have pictures of their alternator wiring for their RB20 ? When I connect the main plug on the back of the alternator (the one that bolts on with the 10mm nut) the battery dies, but when I remove it, the battery is fine and starts the car but doesn't run off the alternator.. Is the alternator dead or is it a wiring issue ? I just put the battery in to the boot along with the fuse box. Everything works the way it should when it starts, the only problem is the alternator (the battery light goes on aswell for obvious reasons after about 10-15 mins when its close to the battery dying since no alternator charge). What I also noticed on the RB20 alternator is that there is no physical ground connected to it ? Is this because it's already getting grounded from the motor or is another ground required via the body of the car ? Right now there is the plug at the top back of the alternator (the one with the black cap over it with 10mm nut) and there is the 2 wire plug that plugs into the side of the alternator and that's it. Total of 3 wires going into it.
  2. Can I use a CA18DE alternator on a RB20 ? My one seems to have kicked the bucket and I have a spare CA18 one lying around. The plugs are identical hence why asked. Cheers
  3. Acquired coil pack loom and Ignitor, the ECU I got was for a R33 RB25 AUTO, made my car run like shit and not idle so I'm still after a RB20DET MANUAL R32 GTST ECU! PLEASE! SYDNEY OR INTERSTATE IS FINE!
  4. still looking!!!!!!! By the way, I got 4 DEFI Style gauges if people prefer to swap. All brand new.
  5. Excellent. Thanks for the help mate, I will give it a try and see how I go!

  8. Hey guys got a quick question. Recently put an RB20DET into my S13, did a wire tuck while I was at it and put the battery into the boot. Now the problem is that when I turn on the ignition, the fuel pump doesn't prime. So what I did was hardwire the YELLOW/BLACK cable from the fuel pumps plug which is the 12v wire, straight to the battery. When I do this, the fuel pump primes but doesn't prime for only a few seconds.. It just keeps going. With this being done, I went to start the car and it only kicks over but doesn't start. The fuel lines are getting fuel and pressure (I can hear/feel the fuel pushing through the lines into the rail). What I'm stuck at is that the car isn't getting any spark. Everything is grounded properly and the cluster/stereo etc works, same as the headlights and what not. The 2 green relays next to the ECU also click when I turn it to ignition. I am yet to try a different CAS/IGNITOR but could these cause this ? The ignitor is getting power (tested with a multimeter) and so is all the coilpacks but the damn thing just don't turn on! Sorry for the essay. Any help will be greatly appreciated as this is driving me nuts.
