First timers: Don't be shy, you'll love it.

Those of you that have been to one of these before will agree, this is the best money you can spend as far as driving time for an event. The event will be run after run until 3.30pm, and considering most runs are under 1 minute AND that we're kicking off at 9am, that's a lot of runs

This is a safe event where you only go as hard as you want to, there's no pressure, one car on a course at a time. Perfect for beginners to have a first try at driving their pride and joy off the streets.

Motorkhana is a low cost way to get involved in motorsport. You can get your first taste of motor sport in your standard road car, but this discipline also caters to the most skilled and experienced of drivers in highly modified or purpose built Motorkhana specials.

The competition is designed to test the acceleration, braking and manoeuvrability of a vehicle and the skill and judgement of the crew members.

A motorkhana may be conducted on a sealed or unsealed surface and involves manoeuvring through tight and twisty tests marked by flags.

Cars will be started individually and there will be one car on course at one time.

With that said, there's usually some friendly competition between mates, which is great to watch :D

    LICENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    CAMS L2S or Higher

Motorsport licence and current club membership card must be shown on the day at the sign in desk.

    How the day runs:

If you've never driven on a track before and want someone experienced to give you instruction and help with how to drive better, faster or safer, or even if you've done a couple of track days and just want to ask some questions (no matter how silly they may seem), we have this at no extra charge available throughout the day.

Firstly, when you arrive at the track, find a place to park and empty all loose objects out of the car. Ensure there's nothing loose in the engine bay and that there are no leaks, that your brake lights work and you have all your wheel nuts on and have tightened your sump plug etc. Next step is to go to the office and sign on for the day, take your licence with you and you will be given a scruitineering sheet. Once you receive that, it's time to drive your car to the scruitineering shed, it's the only building right next to the parking.

Your car will be checked to make sure it's safe to go on the track, and it will then be assigned a number which is your number for the day.

Once you've done all that, it's now time to wait for the drivers' briefing to begin (which will be announced on the loud speakers throughout the pits, and starts at 8.30am sharp).

Once the drivers' briefing is over, all the drivers are split into groups based on experience so that everyone is comfortable in their group. One group is then allowed on the track at a time for evenly-timed sessions. Once one group comes off, another goes on. This repeats until the end of the day with a short break around lunch so officials and helpers can get some food and drinks. Groups are small to ensure we have lots of space on the track. Groupings will be based on previous lap times and experience

    That's basically it!

Please note there will be no refunds unless the event is sold out and there are reserves

    Yeah keen to learn!

That sounds pretty good so it wouldnt be way too crowded on the track right?

May I please take #2 then :7_sweat_smile: I will make payment soon.

    Thanks!

With the GP circuit being so long, crowding shouldn't really be an issue.

I have put you down for spot number 2.

Just go to our online store, fill in the entry form and we offer direct deposit or Paypal.

On the day we will have you fill out a waiver form.

Please bring your Motorsport licence and CAMS affiliated car club membership card (SAUNSW is affiliated).

so tempting man.. only done a few track days at wakefield and still learning... but really wanna experience SMSP tho...

I will love to have an instructor/experienced driver to coach me through hahaha how many cars are on the track at a time/in a group?

P.s. why is no one taking number 2 hahaha

Yes having an experienced driver/instructor take you out around the track really helps.

We have allowed for a maximum group size of 20 cars, some groups will have less.

I just haven't assigned anyone number 2 is the simple reason, so it is available.
