  1. sure why not
  2. I *think* (not 100% sure) that the shabu shabu place in the top floor of Decks shopping centre at Odaiba is all you can eat. IIRC it isn't expensive either.
  3. Looks like it would be a +25 offset, front and rear...great looking rims
  4. As long as your suspension isn't too soft (in which case stiffening up one end increases grip), then the rule is Bigger rear swaybar = more oversteer, Bigger front swaybar = more understeer.
  5. "Unlimited" slip diff?
  6. Cheers Well at least you know that it's an excuse I can't use for at least another 9mths
  7. Locking the HICAS should also be in that list somewhere. My brother had a '32 with those same mods as you're planning, and that made a lot of difference, and took out a lot of the understeer.
  8. Looking after my two newborn sons who just came home from the hospital....mate I'm hardcore...but not THAT hardcore
  9. Me..try to STOP me from going
  10. Hmm..interesting question...hard to describe in technical terms One thing's for sure though, and that is that even when the wheel is locked, it is still providing some friction....so by increasing wheelspin (relative to roadspeed), then surely there is less friction?
  11. ...and a few pairs of Advan RG wheels too ....I LOVE Yokohama tyres...just LUUURRRVE them.
  12. Really? Did I mention how much I just LOVE Yokohama tyres? Did I also mention that I won 2 of the 3 CAMS-sanctioned drift competitions in NSW so far? .....and how much I just LUUUURRRVE Yokohama tyres?
  13. Oh yeah, I remember that. I figured the tyres had one lap left in them so I gave it a big bootful. Redline in third gear, cabin filling with smoke at the apex
  14. Glad you liked it (I was in the MX5)...it was a hell of a buzz with such a crowd
  15. Mine took about an hour...but wiring it up so that it was good to go just took the aforesaid 15-20mins. The hard part was mounting it so that it looked nice and the wires were hidden. $300 is a pretty good deal if it includes installation and dyno time...
  16. Errr...well "timing" can be a very good teaching aid for driver training And an espresso machine is actually, strangely enough, not a problem, since the pit building has powerpoints and a sink inside...so I think I can do the espresso machine. The timing, well...
  17. We were shooting for 25pp, in the end we had 23, so that's cool. Probably wouldn't want any more ppl than that, 'cos the queue gets a leeetle bit too long
  18. Thanks for coming guys, I think the Nissan products certainly were the class of the day Was there anything you guys would like to suggest to make the next event better?
  19. Still plenty of spots available
  20. Well, ok maybe I exaggerated a leetle bit But we did talk briefly about Initial D (can't not talk about it, since Initial Drift Australia was a big presence on the day), and the big gulf between the younger crowd and the traditional motorsport fraternity. For example, the CAMS guy was really surprised that 90% of everyone there was because of word of mouth over the internet...and a cartoon of course
  21. It really was such a great day. There were a lot of "older" ppl there who were just traditional motorsport fans, and they had nothing but great things to say about what a good spectator sport it was. I really did not think that 50 year old guys would get it, but there you go Myself, I had a good long chat with the CAMS guy that went kinda like this: CAMS: "So basically this guy has to get his cargo of tofu across the valley without scrambling it? Moi: "That's right...his Dad gives him this cup of water, that goes in the cupholder and he's not alllowed to spill a drop. But he goes really sideways anyway." CAMS: "And this...cartoon...is why everyone's here?" Moi: "As strange as it sounds....yes." :D
  22. It sure did happen, and while there were tons of cameras there - HPI, Serious Performance, plus about 5 professional snappers wandering around - pics and video still haven't popped up anywhere yet, AFAIK. Check out www.initialdrift.com.au every now and then, that'll be the most obvious place to look. Basically the day was absolutely awesome, the standard of drifting was very high, there was a huge enthusiastic crowd of about 250 and the whole event was well deservedly won by Mick from QLD in a URAS-kitted green 180SX. Second place was Adam from Full Lock in Victoria in a red R32, and third was Mick (NSW) in a new Monaro. The field was of 17 cars only by invitation, and the drift judging was by Ben Ellis and Luke from Full Lock in Victoria. Most of the field were S13, with also 2 R32s, 2 R33s, one AE86, 2 new Munros and one MX5. The competitive section of the day was run D1-style, with nose to tail tandem drifting, and with only a section of the track closed off for judging, with the competitors progressing knockout style to a Final Four. There was very close drifting, but no bent panels. Highlight of the day was the Final, when the 180SX literally went up the inside and passed the R32, while both were completely sideways, pouring smoke off the rears, to a HUGE roar of the crowd. The Top 3 won some very nice prizes from Roman Autotek (Momo steering wheel plus other tasty bits and pieces), and there should be some media coverage of the event in the usual mags in the next few months. The day was the first ever CAMS-sanctioned comp, and CAMS and Oran Park had representatives present to check it out. I think both parties gave a very enthusiatic tick of approval, so it'll be very interesting to see what happens in the near future...all in all, the feedback seems to be that it was a great success for all involved. You shoulda been there
  23. Oh yeah, I should also mention that if you're going the $20 cams one-day license option, you don't have to be a member of any club...the $20 deal waives the requirement to be a CAMS club member...
