  1. Franks, I'd do it when I got home, but I'm not too sure what would be the best card to capture the video. Any idea what a decent card costs too?
  2. I think I have a copy back home in Newcastle. Unfortunately, I'm away until December, so if you REALLY want it you can break in and take it before then. Just don't take anything else please. Seriously though, if noone comes up with a copy for you I suppose I could arrange for someone to pick it up and send it to you. I'd prefer it if someone else did get you a copy though, as it'd be a bit of an effort to find it.
  3. LOL. Now THAT is an investment.
  4. The Magna sure sounds good, but what about a RX Impreza? Are you after a bigger car?
  5. Summoner, why do you say this? Now from what I've read with some Edit work and an exhaust a GTS will run around a 12.9, right? With the same sort of work on a GTS25t (ie computer, exhaust, on the stock turbo etc), you'll get a 12.9 as well. I think it was BOOSTD on this forum that has done this. BTW I'm a validated regular over at the LS1 forums so I'm not one of these Holden haters. I'd be quite happy to see myself in an SSX in a few years. Cheers, Michael
  6. That's exactly what I was thinking. I'll keep checking it out though, as people would pay me a mint. It's a shame it's not a GTR.
  7. I suppose I could just call it a show car and that would work. That could even be true considering the rarity of Skylines here. EDIT: I read more about it, and there's pretty well no chance it would qualify as a show car. Reasons are here http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/import...osd05-2003.html
  8. I found this in a doc file from the US gov. There's a heap of info in it. You can get it here: http://www.cbp.gov/ImageCache/cgov/content...portingacar.doc Anyway, here's the bit that interested me - Nonresidents may import an automobile or motorcycle and its usual equipment free of duty for a temporary stay to take part in races or other specific purposes. However, prior written approval from the EPA is required and such approval is granted only to those racing vehicles that EPA deems not capable of safe or practical use on streets and highways. If the contests are for other than money purposes, the vehicle may be admitted for 90 days without formal entry or bond if the Customs officer is satisfied as to the importer’s identify and good faith. The vehicle becomes subject to forfeiture if it is not exported or if a bond is not given within 90 days of its importation. Prior written approval must be obtained from DOT. A vehicle may be temporarily imported for testing, demonstration, or racing purposes. A vehicle may be permanently imported for show or display. Written approval from DOT is required and should be obtained before the vehicle is exported from the foreign country to the U.S. Information on how to import a vehicle under show or display is available at DOT’s NHTSA Web site at www.NHTSA.dot.gov/cars/rules/import. A vehicle permanently imported for show and display must comply with all U.S. emission requirements as well, and in general must be imported through an EPA-authorized ICI for modification and testing. EPA will not allow the vehicle to be released to its owner until ICI work is complete.
  9. Are you serious? That'd be awesome. I'll check it out but I've only got another 5 months or so here. If it makes sense financially then I'll do it. I could always import it then have it get "stolen" and then sell it to someone j/k
  10. Damn, I can't believe I missed this post. I could have gone to the show. It's not bad here in Brookline, but there's no way I'd be staying here if I was paying the rent. It's absolutely ridiculous. I can't imagine what it would be like in the Back Bay area or downtown. Oh, and a free bump for your flywheel question
  11. I am pretty sure mine isn't wound back. It came with docs showing servicing and it had just had the 100,000km service (also, doc'd). Either that or it had just done 200,000km .
  12. Cool. I hope you get that 12 then. If you were local I'd let you use my 255 rubber, but Perth is a little too far away .
  13. hehe now a squadron of gold R33s cruising down the freeway would look sweet.
  14. rev, you've got some excellent results out of the stock intercooler, but I can't help but think you'd get that 12 with a FMIC. My car was a totally different drive when I put it on. Unless my stock IC was unusually more restrictive than most, I'm sure you'd experience the same thing.
  15. computer tweaks, 206kw vs 184kw (but some of that may be because of the slightly bigger intercooler on the R34). I'd say someone else will fill in the rest.
  16. Hmm, well Sub Zero certainly knows what they're doing. I'd trust them over me
  17. KamikazeR33, If you find the code (or a close colour) from some other source than the forums, can you please post up the result here? I'm also kind of interested in spraying my car as I've got a compressor and HVLP gun sitting around doing nothing.
  18. If you were offered a FMIC, rev, would you take it and install it? I think you'd be quite pleasantly surprised
  19. Are we talking RB25DET Neo or RB25DE Neo here? I haven't heard anything about either being hard to tune. As far as I know they're basically the same as the R33 engines. I reckon an RB25DE would be a nice cheap upgrade for a Q's Silvia or even a K's CA18DET. Have you checked out how it will affect the weight balance?
  20. When I put my combo dump/front pipe with a separate wastegate line I noticed a fair difference. I already had a catback system too. Although I don't have any dyno figures to back it up, I feel it really helped my midrange as it felt kind of flat before hand. Probably the best thing about it though was that the turbo was now audible EDIT: Almost forgot - My combo pipe was HPC coated, so that may have made a difference. Apparently it brings on boost sooner with the coating. If anything I felt it came on boost later, but harder.
  21. I would have said a 94 with 100,000km wasn't bad at all. It suggests it hasn't been wound back. That said, you're coming up to your 100,000km service, which will add to the cost (assuming you plan on doing it). I bought my 93 GTS25t with 99,900 km on it, but it had just had its big service. The one you're looking at may have had this done early. Check up on it.
  22. Cool, I'll give it a go then. I think our burgundy red seems to show up the swirls more, because that's all you can see on mine. I'm sick of the red anyway, time for another colour
  23. Even though Pioneer doesn't sell a converter for it, have you asked around at places like Dick Smith Electronics? There's bound to be something that you can do with it.
  24. Has anyone got a pic of that awesome Chaser that was the poster in HPI? It definitely had street presence.
  25. OT: Your paintwork looks awesome Shell. What do you use to clean/polish it? Mine's terrible. I was thinking I might even repaint mine.
