Hi SAUers, Just a quick question - I have wheels which have a polished lip, which when they got wet have left a stubborn water stain. How do I remove these? I have tried normal detergent/jif and other mild cleaners without any luck, am affraid if i use more severe solutions, that they will deteriate the finish of the wheels. What cleaning agent/solution sould I use? (pic below - but the problem is hard to capture) Cheers Peter

Can My Car Benefit From Larger Rims?
SEX-DR. replied to DrewII's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
ill tell you a little something about these wide (but most importantly low profile) tyres which you are considering. as these wide tyres are generally all low profile, and the tyre walls are very small, offering a significantly less play or give in them, as apposed to larger profile tyres (like the pro drag racers have) thus making them spin a lot easier. Sure there is a 20-30mm extra tread on the road/surface but only about a 100mm of that is actually sitting on the road at one time. so other than having a few bragging rights about the size of your wheels/tyre widths, for traction that is not the exact answer. what you gain with the extra width of the tyre, you could be losing with the minimized tyre wall. there is an optimum diametre for each individual application. Consult a tyre tyre/wheel place for their 'professional' recommendation/opinion. Hope that gives you some food for thought, Peter -
keen to come along, and by the sounds of things, other are also!!! some one get it organised.....me? i cant even organise myself, let alone an event like this!!!

Almost every man and his dog (figure of speech- females also) are going to say "OFF"!!! other than myself, i dont know any other r32 owner that believes that they need a wing... If not the original, than an aftermarket one, something to finish it off!! Thats my lil bitch sess. each to their own Caio

and tyre prices arent that bad now-a-days either, as 19, 20, etc are getting popular :PBJ: as you need to consider that too.

yeah mate, just rolled the lip of the guards, the inside of the guards are standard. at the front, i wanted to run 245s, but were scrubing the strut - therefore i cld only run 225s (but i will get some spacers when i need to get new tyres to allow additional space for larger width tyres at the front. and they dont scrub on full lock. My addvice is deffinitley get coil over sus. to get the car as low as poss, without scrubbing (beauty of adj sus - gotta love it) Peter
-
man i have the exact same wheels on my car. (19x8.5 up front - 19x9.5 at back) I run 275s at teh rears and they sit perfectly. i run c/o sus. so i got the car as low as possible (with the guards rolled) so they dont scrub, and teh car 'looks' low, but is well above the legal allocation thanx to the wonders of 19s!! go for it.... be bold, take a chance!! (I too was being pressured into going only 18s purely coz ppl said theyll be to big blah blah blah - but im glad i went with the 19s). And my car is a r32, which are smaller than r34s(you do have a r34 dont you?the car in the avatar has r34 wheels), so it wont look out of place!!! G/l with it all, post up some pics when done, Peter

you can actually get the genuine item from nissan, but they dont fit a gtst (they obviously dont have flared guards) so i think a body kit shop would have to be contacted. Or keep a close eye on the classifieds and wait till one pops up, and they usually do it just doesnt stick around for that long!! G/L Peter
