  2. the reason why most people dont do it is because the chrome has to be stripped off to find out what type of metal the rim is, which is a pain itself.

Once its repaired its got to be re-chomed which i think wont look the same. Which is the reason why MOST tyre/wheel place dont touch it.

Thats what ive been told by a metal expert.

  3. you got to remember they only have 4 injectors.

when buying rx7 injectors, you will need 2 check the ohm with a multimeter as roy said.

s5 are 550cc made my denso.

s4 are also 550cc but earlier model s4 are low impedence.

People say there red tops others say there purple tops.

dont worry about injector colour tops.

Just beware as i seen a few people buying the wrong injectors.

  4. sorry 2 hear that 2 your mate, i will look around as i work in the ryde area.

Every1 been raving about the brant alarms then 2 others alarm system, but ive been told some of there installation work has not been anything impressive.

  5. is it worth risking 2 licence point for not wearing your p plates?

you get a maxium of 6 points.

I was only ever targeted once & that was on old pacific hwy.

I was doing legal speed limit of 110 but they pulled me over because i had my p plates on, P platers are legitimately to do a maxium of 100khm.

I been told that in a european country you have to pay $3000+ to get your licence with 1 point. Its a smart idea, once you put value on something people will start 2 take care of it. I seriously wouldnt speed to loose $3000.

  6. From what ive been told that Stainless Steal (SS) will be heavier

due to the mixtures of alloys & chromium, Weight wont be a big difference to lets say aluminium or titanium, Your lookin at 1-5kg difference.

Well i never really knew different metal made differnt sounds but the muffler itself, eg apexi dunk sounds different to a apexi n1, well it might be the case that different metal do make different sounds, but u gotta remember legal db level is 90.

Mild steal will rust & will last a good 5years+ if anti-rust was spreyed on the metal.

Quality of workmenship between of a custom made or workshop.

98% of the exhaust ive seen is MIG welded together, dont get me wrong MIG is fine (people MIG submarines together) & it doesnt take a genius to weld just a steady hand (easy 2 use, hard 2 master)

The only real advantage of a workshop is that they have all the tools & a hoist to easilly lift up the car without using jacks & jackstands, to be honest i cant see any real advantages if u go to either one, but the price. if the home doen job knows what his doin.

    Hope this helps a bit.

  7. sorry late reply,

but did u end up getting it fixed?...

    i have the same problem

funny thing is that it goes to normal after a 30min drive but sometime it doesnt, its so unpredictable

most of the time i feel like pulling my hair out & packing the power fc away & put back in the factory ecu & some other days i dont take notice of it at all.

it normally goes 1200rpm then drops back to 750rpm then rise again.

Some people has said it was the wrong selection of your AFM, my settings on afm meters are correct so i dont know.

If you have solved the mysterious idle problem please let me know ;)

  8. Yeah i have no doubts it will take me into the 200kw zone

the only problem im worried about is the spread of the power.

I mean its built for the road so i just dont want top end power which i think this setup will do hence killing all factor of mid end power.

But who am i kidding, can hks get their spec's wrong?

Worst thing about it when i spoke to a few people about the spec they said it was more like a t3/t04 hybrid, & have not seen another turbo with the same spec that ive got so i dont know what i expect to get.

Back in the early 90's hks never made there own turbos so they went to garrett & ask them to make a custom turbo for them, so thats why there are hks t04e's around.

  9. Hey Boys/Girls,

Question for you (if you got the time/knowledge 2 answer it)

I found myself a t04e turbo kit comes with hks manifold & wastegate

turbo spec is .5 a/r compressor, comp wheel ???& .63 exhaust housing, exhaust wheel is 56mm (so just under 2inch) The exhaust housing also has airearch imprinted on it.

How you reckon it will go on my r32 or even an r33

The manifold has a split pulse flange which i heard helps speed up spooling time hence decreasing a bit of lag...is this true?

    Im also fitting 550cc injectors

    & an os giken clutch.

The car currently is producing 162rkw withc FMIC & fuel pump from R33 GTR, HCR32 POWER FC & a few other things.

How do you think it will go?

P.S This turbo is a hks spec t04e turbo for the r32 gtst, so i cant see it goin to bad, i checked the spec off hks catalogue & the hks t04e kit i have & its identical.

    Thanks Joe.

& alpine 6' for the rears

    Info.

Rego i just renewed last weekend.

Few sour note to the car as i wont lie to you, it had a battery leak in the engine bay (easilly fixed), a few dints here & there & a broke left side skirt.

At the moment its producing 162rwkw at 0.9bar

I Would like to trade it for a Gen3 MR2 turbo with neg of cash adjustment or some sort of car, as im nto 100% sure of what car i really want next, post what u have to offer. i do not know if i want to sell the car for a price as my perfered option is a trade.

Car is in sydney. I dont really have many pictures of my car as im not a huge photo person, but will have some if requested.

This is an expression of interest only

    Thanks

    Joey.
