  1. after going through the fuse box to find the one that controls my ignition system we found a broken fuse. after replacing it the dash clock works (hoorah!) but now my car beeps when the key is in any position apart from on. this is going to drive me insane so im tempted to take the fuse out and just be clock less.
  2. could the lack of pintle caps be causing any issues?
  3. haha yeah. had the injectors out again this weekend and made sure the vacuum line was on the right way this time.
  4. not sure if this will make me or the mechanic sound stupid but if i remember correctly the pintles are the little caps which go on the ends of the injectors? the mechanic who did the injector cleaning said that the pintles wernt needed so he didnt bother putting any on. would the lack of pintles be causing the injectors to flood the cylinders. and what tool should i use out of my basic as f*ck toolbox to pull injectors out of the rails?
  5. as the title says i got my injectors cleaned by a mechanic on the central coast and now whenever i go to start the car after putting the rail back in the car hydralicly locks up and wont crank. the ideas myself and some friends have come up with are as follows: > bad spark plugs > bad fuel pressure regulator > bad injector that is stuck open > ecu having issues for no particular reason > crank angle thingy is set too rich i know how to check my spark plugs, fuel pressure regulator, the ecu and crank angle but the electrics of the injector have got me stumped. ive removed and reinstalled my fuel rail twice and i cant figure out how a wire would be shorting making them stay open. anybody have any suggestions on how to fix this or any other ideas as to what can be causing it. cheers.
  6. I'm taking today off fighting with the skyline. Need a break. What would cause my injectors to be stuck open?
  7. nah. the liquid we got out of the cylinders was petrol for sure. used my towel to cover the spark plug holes to stop fuel from spraying everywhere and it stinks of petrol now.
  8. they looked fine when we pulled them out. one was burning a bit of oil but nothing serious.
  9. another update. so i figured out my fuel in and out was backward on the rail. so i reversed it and then tried to jump start her. cranked for 5 seconds but no ignition. so i gave up. second attempt it hydralicly locked straight away. any ideas?
  10. im in birmingham gardens. it was suffering from hydralic lock which has been cured by accidently spraying a mate with petrol (he is okay now). the new problem is it is cranking but not igniting. so im thinking when the bosch spark plugs got submerged in water they died. we've called it quits for today. it also has a semi flat battery. its at 11v with the ignition off and drops to 3v during cranking so weve been using the forester to jump it. so at this stage im thinking ill invest in a set of ngk plugs, some new oil and then i need to get some fuel to my place from the servo as im running too low to make it to a servo when she does come back to life. also has anyone had any issue with bosch plugs?
  11. was checking to see if my ignition fuse was broken as my 33 is cranking but dosnt have ignition and i found that the fuse labbeled electrics in the in car fuse box was blown. what does this fuse control exactly. so far all ive found that it does is make the car beep if my keys in the ignition without being at the on position.
  12. when you turn the key it makes the sounds that ud expect if u had a flat battery. but i have 12v at the battery. and the injectors shouldnt be clogged seeing as i just paid 120 bucks for them to be cleaned properly.
  13. so a friend sent me a link to how to diagnose no start, no crank issues. and we went through his first couple of steps. the next one is to check which cylinders are up and down and if my case follows to the one in the video (on a civic though) it looks like my motor is toast. think if thats the case i might need to go on my japan trip early to relax. but anyways tomorrow will tell us. i dont know why my motor would die seeing as we serviced it completely 3000km ago and it was running fine when we took the fuel rail out and 24hrs later when we were putting it back together its buggered. and yes i talk alot. and yeah i didnt have much room as my mate had stopped about 10m infront of the wombat in his 80,000 dollar bmw so i figured stuff the lancer and put it up the embankment. either way i came out on top seeing as i own a skyline now.
  14. and no that wasnt me. my fevo (fake evo 6) got destroyed out near wollombi. came round a bend and there was a wombat on the road and i swerved, went up an embankment and smashed the front end on a rock and then it got trailered home.
  15. hahaha well dad taught me pretty much all his electrician skills but im no professional. plus i grew up on a farm so im an all rounder. thats the reason we meet early in the week. before i got the skyline i use to hang out with the foreshore and kooragang croud but now i avoid it like the plague.
  16. hahaha yeah. well im thinking bout asking around for even some unpaid work at a mechanics before uni goes back and maybe a day a week. and we havent had any trouble yet and we've been running meets for about 6 months now. supprisingly ive been pulled over alot in my lancer (its dead now) but not once in the skyline.
  17. hahaha fair enough. i figured there would be a mechanic in the group somewhere. guess we're all just backyard home schooled genuises? anyways i have some ideas for tomorrow so if that works id like to meet everyone before she dies again. im part of a local group called Mighty Car Mods - Hunter Region, we are having a cruise up to mount sugerloaf on monday night. we arnt your usual burnouts and f wits. so if anyones keen ill post up details closer to the date.
  18. ive got a mate who is a 3rd year apprentice and owns a 33. and then another mate who is fully lisenced so i might need one of them to come assist. unless someone on here can offer. and honestly im not sure what the starter is ment to sound like. im too dumb for that. i think i should just quit uni and get an apprentiship as a mechanic. from what ive read fixing hydro lock shouldnt be too hard as ive removed my plugs before. but still if anyone is free tomorrow id really appreciate a hand
  19. after putting it back together we went to start it. it cranked for a second and then there was a not loud but still audiable bang from the engine and now it wont crank. we all thought it was just not cranking cause of a flat battery but thats deffinately not it. so the conclusion ive come to using forum trouble shooting is the possibility of hydrualic lock. but im not a mechanic so im going to jump to conclusions. this was all after the injector rebuild which is linked to hyrdro lock in many cars?
  20. hey everyone. took the injectors to get cleaned today and after some mates and i put the car back together it seems that the starter motor is having a hissy fit. but i dont know exactly what the problem is. i was hopeing that someone local would have time to come and teach me whats wrong with it. also id love to borrow a diagnostic tool/software to fault find the issue plus all the others. anyways ill check the forum again later and then ill inbox anyone who is keen to help my adress and phone number. cheers everyone.
  21. Just after a simple answer as to how much power steering fluid i will need to flush the system and then refill it. Simple question but i dont want to go to supercheap and buy not enough and have to make a second trip. Thanks.
  22. i enjoyed it cause its probably one of the bigger meets ive seen in newi. the sydney meets i go to are awsome though. and there was one cop at our first stop on the cruise who asked us what we were up to and then caught an 86 and a bogandore.
  23. hey everyone. decided to put the alarm unit out of my lancer (i murdered it in an accident before i bought my skyline) in my r33 gts. my main question is what colour wires on the skyline do i need to find and where they are hidden. bellow is a link to the installation guide which has a wiring diagram on the last page. http://www.directeddealers.com/manuals/ig/hornet/N742T_09-04.pdf i also have a door lock actuator ready to go into the drivers door as it didnt come with one stock. any help would be great. all i want is for the doors to unlock when i press the botton on the remote and lock and then for the alarm to go off if someone tries to steal it.
  24. i was at the meet. didnt take my skyline. was with a mate in the yellow pannel van mini but ended up cruising in a blue celica and a hsv senator. was a pretty good night.
