Hi guys, Just wondering about something here. Boxer engines e.g. the WRX have alot of low torque but less top end right? As compared to our cars that is. So even if they get the jump on you, it's easy to claw your way back. Let's say comparing stock cars.

Yeah 33s are too common nowadays unfortunately. I'd say go for an S15, beautiful handling cars, bulletproof engine.... Yes I have to agree, Chasers are a really good car. Can't go wrong with Toyota engines.

Nada dudes, it's about 15 secs on the 1/4. Wheels and Motor tested the Z and the Rx8, the Z wins on straight line performance, but the Rx8 wins on handling and ride comfort.

IMHO, I think the guys here look after their cars pretty well and may want an upgrade to something else, so it's a good opportunity to take their 32s off them. I think nark's got his car for sale? Yeah I think..probably 1 demerit point is not worth the legal fees. He's just not happy about the way they pulled him over without any proof and with that 'condescending' attitude that most of them have. Could be worse. Thanks for the advice guys!

Hi guys, need some advice. Actually..this question is for a mate of mine. He got pulled over by two cops a few nights ago in his car. The cops asked him "Do you know how fast u were doing?" *classic question* He wasn't sure and didn't know what to say. So they gave him a ticket and said something like Oh you were doing 80. And he was quite baffled. Throughout this whole time, they didn't show any proof of a radar gun trap speed, nor was there a radar gun in sight. Now...what they next said was something to the effect that 'we're going to be nice and write it as going at 70' and promptly issued him a fine. I think the road speed was 60 if I'm not mistaken. But I'm guessing they must've tailed him for some distance before pulling him over. And if there was no radar gun shown, that means there's no proof! What's irritating is that they gave this "we're so nice we'll just fine you for a lower speed" thing. Of course..being gracious for their 'mercy' is one thing..but there's still no trap speed, hence no proof. Is there a possibility of disputing this in court? Or via a letter to the civic centre? Advice? Thanks!

Is it true because the GTRs waxed the holdens and fords at Bathurst, that's why they banned all other cars? Sorry, am not very clear with aussie car racing history. If that's the case, then well....hahahaa...sore loosers. Looser with a capital L.

So let's say, if they pull you over and asked "How fast do you think you were doing?". Do I say, "I don't know, I was watching the road and not the speedo". Or give a rough speed limit e.g. say it's a 60 road, but you say "Oh probably about 55-61?" This applies to getting pulled over without a radar gun. Or do you always insist to see the gun read out?

Remember guys...on the track only. Not on the streets. It's a sad story whenever someone runs a kerb/lamp post or even worse a human. Besides think of the amount of suspension work and money wasted if you hit a kerb!

If you guys love comparing, then why not compare a modded skyline to a modded mx6? And why not compare track times too? Bottomline: Stop bragging (and that's not only directed to you TripHarn but your 1st Gen people). And start being realistic. Naturally any car can go as fast as the owner wants, provided the pockets are deep. No one likes idiots who do the following: 1. Takes a crappy car and tries to win a higher performance car when the results are obviously against your favour. 2. Proceeds to brag that your car could win a better car when you didn't even race properly on a track. Let's no count public roads. Of course it's entirely possible anyone can win, but look at what you've just said: It's a close race to beat a GTR? I think you'll be smelling his fumes. And nobody here ever said anything about superiority, but to even come closely and hint about how your super duper cars (talk about pot calling the kettle black), can win just about anyone you like to drag off on the streets. Correction my little 1st gen mx6 kiddo, the thread was started because someone discovered on the mx6 forums how incredibly insipid, inadequate and mentally challenged SOME 1st Generation Mx6 drivers are. How a modded Mx6 can 'supposedly' beat a skyline. And how no one did mention whether the skyline was modded or not. Now of course as some of the people on thread have reiterated over and over again that people like you and your type should go to a track instead to race. And as also pointed out, have a look at the track times, before you go on saying you could take a close race to a GTR. I think you will many GTR owners highly offended that your tin pan turbo car can win a GTR. Now run along and go have your 'kills' before mummy takes the car keys away.

Ahhh so now a modded mx6 will win a GTR? Pass some of that weed you're smoking dude
