Sim Lim Sq doesn't sell Car stuff!! Only electronics like Digicams, Computer parts, PDAs, laptops etc. Pardon my vagueness in my earlier post. Other place to check out is also Garage R. They're somewhere in the Northern areas of Singapore - Upper Thompson Road area. I've been there a few times to look see. I've seen EVOs and a few R34 GTRs (there was an N1 spec there!). So it's another place. Not sure about how competitive the prices are. But remember exchange rate differences..AUD will win. And don't let them talk shit to you cos you're a westerner! As long as you know your technical knowledge about brands and cars.

Holy crap! Isn't that a rare 22B?!!?

Not all of us Singaporeans here can't afford new sports cars sadly. There are of course exceptions, as well as the indonesian or honkies students who drive expensive cars in Australia. The typical common car range in Singapore are usually - 1.3/1.5L+ runabouts (Ignis, Vitz, Corollas), IS200s, Mercs. Strangely I could never figure out why with car prices that high, the populous could still afford such luxuries. The whole point of doing this (by the govt) is so that we don't become another KL or Bangkok. With such small landspace, pollution and traffic jams would be exceptionally bad. Everyone's encouraged to take the clean and efficient public transport and owning a car is...quite a luxury actually. It's not 100K in taxes. It's having to buy a piece of paper called Certificate of Entitlement (COE), which gives you the 'right' to own a car. And that paper sometimes costs more then the car itself. Put it this way, a friend of mine bought a brand Mazda 323 two years ago for nearly $70K SGD. That's how expensive cars are. At that time it's probably $25K for the paper and 40 - 45K for the car. Something like that. COE prices vary monthly and are divided into two categories depending on cylinder displacement. RE: Car park rallying at Kallang Stadium - Hahaha, I remember watching the sunday morning motorsports section. All these EVOs and Wrxs duking it out at a stadium carkpark. There's quite a popular car parts shop on Geylang Road called Gan Motorsports. Prices are reasonable for brands like Blitz, HKS etc etc. And do remember to check out Sim Lim Square

Horus, I suggest you get yourself an APS CAI. It's just a small pipe extension that juts out from the stock airbox. You need someone to cut a hole for you on the S15 airbox though. The end of the extension goes into the hole where the radiator overflow bottle is located (right hand side looking towards passenger's side). There's a high pressure airflow point there with air coming in from the headlights area. It does wonders, I had one put on my S14, could feel the instant throttle response straightaway. Don't worry, it's the same item for the S14 and S15, even the airboxes are the exact same. ON hard throttle you'll hear the 'swhooosh' sound but it's still softer then the POD, and it'll keep you out of trouble because it's still using the stock airbox and it isn't exposed.

I saw a similiar 'uncivilised' incident on Williams Road a week ago. Friday night traffic, so it's pretty heavy down that road. Behind me was a chick in a barina. We were coming to some lights and there was this old geezer and his wife in an S-Type Jag on side of the road. Between me and the barina there wasn't any space because it's really bumper to bumper. So when the lights went green the guy in the Jag shoved his car right into the small gap between the barina and my car. He was horning and scolding the poor girl (I watched from the rear view). There was nothing she could've done as there wasn't any space for her to reverse. So he takes it out on her. I'm guessing he called her rude....and not giving way. But in this case, there wasn't really much she could do. Did he expect her car to 'go through' the other car behind? Some patience on the road would've been nice. It's just why can't he wait till the traffic clears up alittle but insist on shoving his way through. He didn't even asked politely.

Yup the thrust bearing came with the clutch. I've heard of S15s with the same problem after putting in an Daikin Exedy HD, so I assumed it was because of the clutch and thrust bearing. I've not done anything about it though, and it's bloody annoying. For your case get someone to check the clutch fork too.
-
Same problem I had when I fitted an Exedy HD clutch in. Before new clutch, no whirring sound, but with brand new clutch, whirring sound can be heard in neutral. Push the clutch in and it goes away. Nothing wrong with shifter too.

Since when have politicians ever been honest and smart? cops fly towards the rising sun when that happens. I meant real cops

Not only do we have the facilities already, but it's just a lazy excuse to say 'it's too far' 'too expensive'. Unfortunately these all come with the costs of owning such a car. What's $50-100 compared to more EPAs, Speeding fines and damage to your car and lives lost? I don't mean to be blunt. I know the Bracks govt sucks and police here abuse their powers, but it's no excuse to say since the govt isn't going to build a track means - "It's time to hit the streets!". It's like because your mum doesn't want to buy you a new toy because she doesn't want to spoil you, you'll say 'that's ok I'll go steal one for myself". And don't vote Labour the next time!! I thought Kennettt was pretty good..but I digress. And I'll quote INASNT: "that's what you get for voting a Leb". Hahahh ok I digress again....

Dude, it's never going to be free. Nothing's free. Unless you plan on taking out a few innocent lives in the process. And whatever damage to your car as well. Pay up at Calder/Heathcote/Sandown/PI/ at drag/drift to your heart's content.

I agree with some points the cop says. Teenagers in hi-po imports should stop whinging and start acting responsibly. Do the time, do the crime. Of course I see alot of cops doing double standards themselves.

With regards to: /It affects you because you're ignorant and selfish enough to not have any sympathy for others, regardless of whatever the circumstances were at the time As I said, you don't know what happened; but all you care about is how it'll affect YOU Take a chill pill my first post wasn't aggressive and nor is this one/ I do admit...some sympathy and empathy must come out of this. However, sympathy has to stop at a certain point because a minority group of idiots have caused the law to typecast the rest of the law-abiding/track racing group. Some sympathy - Young life wasted. But it's hard to learn when your peers are all doing stupid things. 70km/h only? Righhhhhhhht :bs!: He's got so much to loose by telling the truth. Soon we'll all have to drive camrys and magnas because things for import drivers will sooon degenerate.

Hi guys, I have a spare bottle. Bought it for my 200 but I don't need it anymore. It's unopened of course. It's yours for $15. I used it for my manual gearbox, it seems smoother after I used it, and not so notchy when cold. I used to use Redline, but it's too damn expensive and it doesn't last as long. After awhile the notchiness comes back. PM me..

Agreed. I bought an S14 after a Skyline, and I've never looked back since. It was the best trouble free car I've ever gotten. With good handling mods, you don't have to worry so much about the tail coming out. The SR20 is fuel efficient if you drive it nicely, and it's got great smooth delivery throughout the rpm range with very little lag.

RB74 Pads and Gear 300 for sale
Ait replied to Ait's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Hi everyone, With regards to the RB74 pads, I've just checked with RaceBrakes Melbourne, the pads will be a straight fit for any R33 - R34 GTST/GTT. They are not for GTR Brembos though! These pads need to be bedded in, and although it feels soft when cold, but they grip very very nicely when you need them. Excellent for the occasional track warrior -
Yeah I think it was Sat night. The worst bit was that this young chap tried to make it a hit and run. And being unlicensed and uninsured?! Hmmm..not good. It's quite confirmed that it was a GTR.

At corner of Koonang Rd (Carnegie) and Dandenong Road. Did anyone hear about some accident involving a white skyline (GTR?). Apparently the twit in the line drove through lights and hit someone which hit someone else and then tried to leave the scene but got detained by the victims. Ahhh that was a mouthful! Quite a drama I heard. Anyways..heard it from the grapevine..that this young twit in the line wasn't licensed nor insured too. Well..another dent in skyline driver reputation again.

RB74 Pads and Gear 300 for sale
Ait replied to Ait's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Thanks, not really a perl geekz0r yet, but getting there. It's useful to know if you get what I mean The pads are for my S14. But I've sold the car and they're untouched. I think they should be able to suit most Nissans except the GTRs? I need to ring Racebrakes about this. Price...$70? -
Hi all, A brand new box of Racebrakes Semi-comp RB74 pads for sale. There are 2 sets in them, it's still in the box. Brake fade? What's brake fade? A spare bottle of Motul Gear 300 oil I haven't used at all. Still in shrink wrap. $16 - Sold at Autobarn for $25 per bottle. Not sure how much I'll want to charge the pads for, but please PM me with offers. Thanks!
-
I know I sound like an opportunist, but umm I've got a spare set of RB74s. Umm does anyone want to buy them?
-
Nope it's never been on a track. I drive like a sissy. Re: Pics. The only good shot is the one several posts above. I need to get my arse down to taking some better shots of the engine bay and interior.

Hmmm the one I have is the BMI version, which is a collation of edits for HOT! and BM JP. It's called GT-R The Prodigy. Only the first 15-30mins are about GTRs, the rest are on the 350Zs, Touge runs etc.

Thanks BobJones! 12.5K is an insult honestly, I might as well off it at a dealer. The Ks are average for a car of that year.
