great little tool if you don't have access top a drag strip!! They were a little pricey some years back (G-Tech)...wonder if they're more accessible now? They are purely 'indicative' of an actual figure though....not an exact science, obviously...(make sure the G-TECH is mounted correctly and is allowed to 'self-cal'.) But the main thing is that they can really only provide a controlled test, for you only, ...you really can't compare readings to other cars, properly. eg...YOU modify something on YOUR ride,...G-TECH can provide some info on improvements YOU"VE made...(on that basis alone they can make a great 'tuning' assistance tool) Good, fun little units, that are driven by a cigarette lighter...(the one I borrowed anyway!..a long time ago!) If you can get and older one cheap...get it!...you won't lose anything...they look pretty cool too. If memory serves, they have heaps of additional 'timing/performance' functions, based on math and internally preset formula.

Noise From Inside My Right Door.
superspit replied to Awesome's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
yep...common issue,...get some rat-bait, put it on the driver's side floor well, leave your car doors closed. Should be gone in about 6 hours. They love chewing on power-window cabling... -
haha..I'm lovin my V more and more!!!!

I'm sure that at least half the forum readers will understand/agree with you.....the other half won't and couldn't give a flying f**k....they'd be the ones lookin for more f**king stickers for their ride, and draggin' on public roads!..LOL! I just 'happened' to come across this thread....and I'm really quite confused about what we're all actually talkin about. I PROUDLY love the Nissan Skyline series..all of them..from the 60's to the new gen.......but I'm at a point in my life where I want handling, styling and a little class for around 35k....but without the 'hoon' badge. So I bought this....and I think it's perfect..for me anyway, and really, what else matters? I drove similarly priced Euros and Australian cars, and couldn't find anything else that made me smile as much.

Hi Kari, this is a fantastic story, and very well detailed.... Thankyou for sharing this info with us, and am glad that you are ok. Also glad to see your great praise for our V cars, involving the accident aspect. Please feel free to give us any more info you might have, including repair quality, any other issues, and what the reaction of the f*****g c*** who blindly turned in front of you was. (after the hit)...how old was he/she...what were they driving. Geeesh..I am a sticky nose! Cheers! -

Question For Skyline V35 Track Owners
superspit replied to rs73's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Hi... I too have the 'track' version.....(6M, Brembo, 18") Remember how I rebuilt my 'fuel flap actuator'?..(which is still working great!)...well it gave me the chance to rip apart the boot area, and I was quite frankly amazed at my spare tyre!....it's faaaaarkin huge!....or at least I think it is....I'd be quite pissed orrrf if it didn't clear the Bemb's.!!! It's brand new (never used), and is the standard 'pressed metal' design, and appears only a little thinner than my actual wheels.!!!...(my 18" front tyres are smaller than my rears, as is normal)....car is at the painters, can't remember the stats. (225/45/18 front.....245/45/18 rear Potenza G3's)...sumthin like that. Staggered and directional tyres are a bit of a pain.....no more full tyre rotations!! I get my car back this weekend, and I look forward to seeing how well the sparey fits....and the actual size of it. Oh!...btw..I HATE POTENZA'S...THEY CAN FAAAARK OFF!.....Can't wait till they've worn out and I can FARK THEM ORRRRF! My Nankangs piss all over those pieces of utter sheeeat, over-priced, slippery NOISEY crrraaaap! Oh my...I do feel better now! Cheers! -
Active Headrest / Srs In Practise?
superspit replied to superspit's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
this is great info guys!!.....thankyou! Hopefully none of us will test our SRS unit's in practice. -
Heeey!..Thankyou! That's a great write up!..enjoyed reading that, and it did actually make me feel a little better, and more informed of this 'issue' of driveline...(or non-issue rather). I saw Tony at TGS today,..once I get it back from the spray painter's we're taking it on the freeway, where I found the higher RPM issue/sounds...then we'll put around (slowly) and figure out the pulsing noise in first gear take off. It could be all normal...there might be something amiss...we'll see.

Active Headrest / Srs In Practise?

goin down on ya NS!!!! Mate, this is great, and exactly what I wanted, and in terms that even a knob like me can understand! Thankyou for putting in so much effort!..I do appreciate it!..(see first sentence!!)..lol! Cheers! ps...does the airbag 'check light' indicator mean that all of these systems are checked/initialized when we start our cars? If there is a fault anywhere within this complex system, will we know?..(before we have crash!) -
Clutch is a brand new item.....flywheel is brand new too....the clutch (in itself) works wondefully!...no complaints. Resting a foot on a clutch, the way I do, will not cause damage, (I don't 'ride' the clutch)....(please, let's move away from this aspect). I just can't fit my big foot onto that footrest; also the clutch actuator lever is bent at right angles, and in a way that impedes my foot fitting onto the footrest. Anyway, I will dismiss that as a problem, as all these componenets are new...(haven't had the chance to glaze!)..I'll review that again in the future, when I work this initial noise out.... (the reason that I mentioned 'foot on clutch'/'hand-on gear stick' was to establish and convey to you all this noise/vibration/oscillation that is proportional to engine rpm (as in prior post(s))...please don't take that as being the issue, but rather as the explanation.) I simply don't understand your last sentence there Stephen....everything is above board, simply looking for some support and maybe helping people who may in future find this issue....I'm lucky that I have warranty....(maybe I've missed a legality or something mate?) Cheers....really appreciating this renewed feed-back!

wow!....for someone who was struggling with my explanantion, you've managed to respond wonderfully!!! This is exactly the type of response I was looking for........in that, at least, I'm not alone. It's just that it feels rather cheap, imho, not like a 35K car.....my other lines were rougher, but not like this, not in the clutch/gearbox, by way of feel. Maybe it is the combination of the (naturally unbalanced) V6 format, and the Getrag?....I hope I can get it smoothed out, just a little. (again, I am quite fussy with this kind of shit). Thanks again!

good point...I didn't ask about the actual mounts...they didn't mention anything there. Thruster and spigot bearings are brand new...so too the fly wheel..(which is a more complex unit than I've ever seen). Thrust bearing is good... Mounts....geeee...I'll have to check that. Car went in for a front and rear bumper re-spray......so i get her back on Friday. (Ultrafine BW) I'm not taking her straight back to Frank (the seller), I'm going to Tony at TGS, (also a 24/7 warranty registered dealer) give him the car to use for a couple of days (as a daily driver, learn the car, if I can put it that way) I'll get him to look more specifically at mounts......mmmm...never thought of that. Thanks man!.... (i'll keep taking suggestions of that calibre!!)
