blown head gasket perhaps or what i done to my old motor same story was driving then all of a sudden sounded like a massivley cammed V8 and white smoke everywhere and overheating after that i had to look at the way the engine was treated serviced every 5,000K's and looked after untill i had the shits one night and done skidz on the limmiter for a night explains why it let go a couple of days later when i pulled the engine apart i found 2 shattered pistons and a blown headgasket due to oil passing through the rings and too much compression in the cyl DO A COMPRESSION TEST!!
-
That's great thanks The reason I ask is because I've heard rumors that you need a big clearance for forged pistons because the expand heaps Obivously this isn't true
-
That would be great thanks :-)

Great thread dude I've just read the whole thing and I have one question about the CP pistons you put in, are they a high silicone content do you know?, and what were the piston to bore tolerance as I have shattered 2 pistons in my 25 and looking to put CP's in to replace the OEM was going the same size as you

Hi So I have an s2 r33 which has just carked the engine due to what I'm not sure but I will endevor to find out why and let you all know So she is blowing heaps of blue smoke and when I got it home the temp was off the chart so I'm guessing the turbo shat an oil seal and pumped oil into a cylinder which caused hydrolic lock and that would explain why it wouldn't crank over When I tried to start it, it turned about half a revolution and locked and do e so about 6 times I finally got it going to get it home (about 1klm away) and buy the time I got it home the temp was off the chart so I'm assuming the oil blew the head gasket causing the overheating problem. Any feedback or suggestions would be helpful I have pulled the turbo intake pipes off and found heaps of oil on and around the compressor fins and a lot of shaft play This is as far as I have gotten so far but I will keep you all posted on the engine removal and will show plenty of pics if I can work out how to upload them from my phone Again any feedback and suggestions for rebuild parts would be much appreciated

Hey mate is the front bar still intact and in good nick? -
Ok cheers, the car is a daily at the moment but is getting put onto a drift track and I have noticed that it is scrubing tyres out because of the camber I think I will go for the bush kit for now cheers

What would be the best way to adjust camber then?
-
Sorry guys but there is still no answer on why the external cartridge are no good I am considering getting them because they have camber adjust or is that just a waste if time??? Any advise would be good
