Thanks for lowering my heart rate a bit, only had it for a week, and I have to start a gearbox swap on my Jeep. When I drained it there was only a very faint smell of antifreeze, like it had a bottle of premix put in then topped up with tap water.

Doing a cooling system flush after finding this crap Ive got no crap in the oil and its not over heating so hopefully just poorly maintained and not a head gasket. Its got the same sort of texture as mud and its brown...

Took her out for the first half decent drive with it, to get acquainted and such. Very happy with it. I did find it a big laggy for an NA so Im thinking Im going to have to put a kit in the gearbox. The guy I got it of said it was a Four wheel, turns out its rear wheel.

Ahh you know, figured it weighed in pretty similar to a V6 Holden and the Straight 6 Cherokee it wouldnt be too bad. And as for time it would be day before and NZ doesnt have many flat roads. Is more of a long term possibility then needing to go to an event next week. I still have to rebuild and sell my Cherokee and move to a more car friendly place before I consider it.

Out of interest do the 25X-Four and the RS-Four have the same brakes?

On a semi related note has anyone towed anything relativity heavy with their Stag? Thinking maybe rally car sized.

I learnt the hard way in how valuable an oil cooler is the other day in my Jeep. Going over a big set of hills, just started blowing smoke. Didnt loose any function in the box to begin with. Now it doesnt have 4th and reverse is almost gone. It did something similar to yours about a year back, thought it was a computer problem, swapped it out and didnt have a problem until the gearbox blew its load everywhere.

Just got her today. Needs a little clean up and some new wheels.

Ive got a '94 Cherokee XJ thats been seeing a bit of mud over the last couple of years. Just got my first Stagea to replace it for going up the snow and weekend driving duty. Blew the gearbox in it about a month ago and havnt used it since. Just got sick of having to put so much money into it and only use it 4 or 5 times a year.
