  1. yeah had the same problem on my old s13 silvia kept blowing the pipe off that was attached to the turbo before it went into the intercooler. Turned out to be a faulty hose clamp replaced that and it fixed it.
  2. It'll be interesting to see what the new Nissan Altima's go like and how reliable they will be.
  3. car still needs A/C system and windscreen washer jets fixed. Quoted $1200 to retro fit new R134A compressor and regas system and I was Quoted $500 to pull dash apart and fix suspect switch. Overall the car is running beautifully at the moment im just not so keen to keep using it as a daily. Will probably have to wait till tax time to fix the above problems.
  4. Up for sale is my Nissan skyline BNR32 GTR. I have completed a lot of work and maintenance on this car since I took ownership and I have been pushing to get the car back to standard with some tasteful and legal modifications. She is an incredibly clean example for a 20 year old car. Nismo dash and accessories, GTR floor mats, Aftermarket Amp and head deck, Apexi Power FC, K and N flat panel filter, 3 Inch mandrel Bent exhaust from dump pipes, Brake master cylinder brace, Strut braces front and rear, Coil over suspension and white line sway bars with adjustable castor arms. Ok so here goes in the last 12 months I have: - Machined front brakes and replaced front pads - Replaced water hoses - Replace Timing belt and seals and bearings -Replaced water pump - Removed transfer case and replaced gasket - Renew radiator assembly (standard one with clutch fan) - Replaced G sensor - New wiper blades - Cut rust out of Front Guards and repainted - Replaced all 4 tyres - Serviced every 6 months or 5000 klms. Ok now for the things that still need fixing: - Water jets do not work properly. (Quoted $500 to pull dash apart and replace suspected switch) - A/C needs retro fitting with a R134A compressor as they no longer use R12 refrigerant. (Quoted $1200 to replace compressor and including labour ) I had the car dyno tuned just over 12 months ago with 320.8 BHP at all four wheels on standard boost. I am asking for 17-18k Negotiable. I bought this car simply for weekends and cruising however now that I have switched jobs I can no longer afford to keep her and I have had to use her for daily driving, having said that i will not give her away for nothing. Serious offers only!!! Call Jack on 0409 217803 for an inspection.
  5. I got these second hand turbos when i bought my car early this year and was just wondering if you guys on the forum could help me identify them. The numbers i got off the identification tags next to the oil feed line are YK 6008J GT2540-46T 446179 - 17 Im guessing these are not standard turbo's but would they be any good on a near standard RB26 Engine? Front of turbo housing's have HKS on them and the numbers 094. Hope this helps.
  6. fixed the G sensor, lights have gone out in dash finally! . Turns out i was responsible for breaking a G sensor I was expecting a huge repair bill but $670 isnt too bad i think.
  7. Bought this car in February 2012 after returning back from overseas work commitments. I spent over 2 months trying to find a decent platform for a car but realized that finding a decent one is pretty hard considering even the late model R32 GTR's will be turning 20 years old very soon. I have always wanted one ever since i was kid after I saw there domination in both GRP A touring car racing in Australia and overseas. I didnt want a HI PO skyline or a purpose built track car ( I have a datsun 1200 coupe for that) but something that i could use for a nice weekend cruiser that would be quick enough to keep other cars honest but also be nice enough to drive around smoothly. I didnt want to drive around a defect magnet either so i went for something subtle and standard looking. I finally settled on this particular example because it was very straight and mechanically seemed very good. It still had a half page list of stuff to do when I bought it but i managed to knock off a considerable amount off the original asking price, sure enough i picked it up and took it home and begun work. The guy couldn't tell me much about the car or what had been done to it. So I had a detailed look and worked out that this was what it had, Suspension and Brakes: - BC Coilovers - Front and rear white line adjustable sway bars - Nolathane bushes throughout - Adjustable control arms and tie rods. - Front and rear strut braces - Brake master cylinder brace. - Standard brake calipers and rotors setup. Driveline and wheels: - Standard diffs and gearbox. - 19 X 10 inch deep dish white ALLSTAR mags. Engine: - Apexi power computer with hand controller - Standard airbox setup with K and N filter - Tomei poncams (unsure of profile) - Engine internals unknown. - Turbocharger's, Intercooler, inlet manifold and fuel system all appear standard. (Keyword appear) - 3 inch exhaust mandrel bent with Hi flow Cat from behind dump pipes, dump pipes are still standard at this stage. The repair list was this: - ABS 4WD LIGHT staying on. - Water hoses need replacement under inlet manifold - aluminium radiator had no shroud on it so clutch fan cooling was redundant. - front brakes needed attention - drivers side door trim needed re-gluing - A/C needs regas or repair - Transfer case gasket leaking - Full service and all fluids needed replacing due to the car sitting still for so long. - Front guards had a very small amount of rust in them bottom of the sill. - Wheel spacers needed removing and 19X10 inch wheels needed to be replaced for something a bit smaller and she needed a wheel alignment. - needed rego and insurance

Radiator setup is no longer like this i removed the aluminium radiator and placed a brand new factory one in its place and shroud so now the fan actually helps cool the engine down not just blow air everywhere.

Picked this clean example up februrary 2012 after returning from overseas. Out of all the R32 GTR's i viewed this one was by far the cleanest however it did have a few faults so i got a fair amount knocked off the original asking price. Ive spent the entire year fixing her up and theres only a few things left to finish. I always wanted a 32 GTR when i was a kid and am stoked i now have one.
  10. thanks very much guys really appreciate all the help and advice. I ve had a look at a few good posts on G sensor and other related electronic wizardry. I will keep updated as too how i go
  11. ok so my mechanic has informed me that the reason my 4wd/ abs light wont go off is the error code 16 (lateral g sensor) needs attention. After talking to him it needs replacement as the capictators are burned out. Im not an electrician as you might be able to tell cos i have no idea what he is talking about. I'll ring around wreckers and import places but Id dare say this will be a challenge to source one. Anyway I am after a replacement one in good condition preferably. Price: Send me a pm or call me on 0430 470413 jack im happy to negotiate Please forgive me for my first post as i am new to the forum.
