  1. nice ride mate, looks hot and the T51R whistle is pure porn! good luck with it
  2. buying locally from a work shop etc will cost you $1200+ buying from an online shop (ie Nengun) or through a SAU group buy, they are under $1K delievered.....
  3. You said you were running the new motor in? Is it modified much? Car looks hot mate, nice package you got there
  4. OK well I will use myself as an example, my car is fitted with non-permit and illegal mods yet I got paid out when my car was written off.... No mods to blame, purely driver error... Its quite simple, if we cant PROVE that the 'illegal' mod was the reason for the claim, then it should be paid out. Using your brake query as an example, proving that by not upgrading them caused you to hit someone is VERY HARD to prove, so most likely pay you out if all mods on the car were noted. Its a very touchy issue, but atleast an insurer like Shannons wont write off the claim straight away like your regular insurers who hate to deal with imports, may....
  5. its not up to an insurance company to tell you if your mods are illegal, thats up to the owner of the vehicle to decide etc etc. Working for Shannons, I can tell you that we will list all your mods on the policy and do state in our policy wording that we will cover all legal modifications. If you have illegal modifications fitted to your car, and your have an accident/make a claim, as long as the 'illegal' modification was not the direct cause or reason for the claim, then you will be paid out etc etc. We have many highly modified imports with us, including a few from SAU too
  6. Working for Shannons, I can tell you that here we will cover all mods listed on your policy. If some of those mods are not engineered, or illegal, and you have an accident/make a claim, then as long as the 'illegal' mod was not the direct and responsible cause for the claim, then we will pay out. Believe me, we have some HEAVILY MODIFIED turbo imports with us....
  7. took 3wks to get my wheels, which initially was sposed to only take 4 days. never got any calls to say there was a delay, had to call them EVERY TIME. got given wrong lock nuts, now i need 4 new studs. customer service, they have none..... u get what u pay for i guess, i am very happy with the wheels but thought that dealing with a local company would have been easier than dealing with over east, now i regret it....

  16. Interesting, I actually HAVE a policy with Shannons, and not only this but I WORK for Shannons too..... We provide coverage for driver training courses designed to improve your skills and that are under guidance of trained proffessional intructors. It must also not be a CAMS affiliated event. IF you have the 'Club Racing' benefit noted on your schedule, then you will have coverage 'in any race, pacemaking, reliability trial, speed or hill climbing test' but only if its CAMS approved AND 'on a racetrack or testing ground or land immediately adjacent to a racetrack or testing ground if such an event is carried out under the license from the CAMS body' SO please check your schedule to see that 'Club Racing' is noted if you want track coverage, otherwise it will only be covered for driver training purposes....
  17. Its actually on page 34 of the PDS.... You obviously have the 'Club Racing' benefit shown in your schedule to cover you for such events?
