  1. I had an etm twin scroll single gate manifold and it worked fine with a Garrett t04z but when I changed to a precision it wouldn't control boost. I welded it up and went with welding the gate off the turbine housing. Problem solved and 500rpm less lag.
  2. Catch can. Cam breather tank and dump breather tank. -12 for sump -10 for cams
  3. What about what size oil restrictors for non neo 25 head with NO vct? It's not on the chart?
  4. How much should it cost for a machine shop to open up the oil return galleries in the block? I thought you could just drill them out with a long 10mm bit but that is backyard spec. What am I missing for over $250
  5. At what power or rev limit Is it advisable to go with .200" gudgeon pins?
  6. Thanks lads. Yep not interested in a stroker. It's not a road car. And $ are a factor.
  7. Sounds tuff Scott. Did you do angular groove mains and 26 bearings? And did you use upgraded gudgeon pins or L19 fasteners?
  8. Thanks lads, I'm talking short block only though.
  9. Yep up wards of 800hp shops start stating bracing and billet caps. Grout filling after that.
  10. Hey guys, Wondering if any of you that have built or had built an RB short block would mind posting your estimated build cost. I am in the process of getting quotes and they range from 5k to 15k This is short block only. Peak rpm 8000 Power 700hp Professional job with quality parts. Any input is appreciated. Don't mind the look of the spool short block on their website at $6600 thoughts?
  11. It's all good mate I spoke to my machinist and he said rb26 or 30 gasket. welding the block isn't required.
  12. Did you keep vct mate? Is that why or another reason? I am not keeping vct.
  13. Thanks mate. I was going to use an rb30 head gasket (the one pictured is the old rb25) Did you open up your galleries?
  14. Thanks angry RB, do you know what method he used? Welding to cast iron can be tricky.
  15. See pics. Do most guys weld some more steel here for a good seal or consensus is it isn't needed? I have heard both but can't find any comments on sau about it? I have a good fabricator that I reckon can do it then obviously just get the block decked. Thoughts?
