howdy, i recently installed a turbosmart eboost, but i cant seem to boost over 7psi, the guage runs three adjustable set points, which i have set at 1-7psi 2-10psi 3-13psi, i run the eboost soildnoid straight of the trubos wastegate, so there shouldnt been any factory boost cut out stoping it should there, any suggestions.

Make sure you have the solenoid hooked up correctly. Port 3 of the solenoid is manifold pressure, port 2 is actuator reference and port3 is vent. There are three setting boost setting - SP1, gate pressure and sensitivity. Set SP1 to you desired boost level then adjust the gate pressure until it just starts to overshoot your desired boost level and set the sensitivity so that boost dosn't drop off higer in the rev range.

That said I have had alot of trouble setting these boost controllers and dont really have much respect for them.

cheers, il have another go at it, yer its a bit bloody tecnical for first timers like me self, gate pressure, sensitivity, heaps of stuff to mess with, but il keep at it, even when i reset it all and set sp1 at 10psi, still couldnt get over 7psi, checked the hook p three times now all looks right but will check once more just in case.

The values you put in are a little miss leading as they are not in boost pressure. It may be Duty Cycle but I'm not really sure. So if you set SP1 to 10 it wont necessaryily give you 10psi. Try setting it 20 then 30 etc etc until you get the desired boost level and then you will proably find that you will have to increase the sensitivity to stop it bleeding off in the top end.

Does anybody know if there is any kind of feedback control as in closed loop operation PI or PID loops, or is dumb as shit? Has anybody check the duty cycle on the solenoid to determine if it changes up and down or only up or does it change at all from the set DC.

ok just went for a spin out on the old knob high way messing around with set point one i tryed seting it at 20 with a gate pressure of 20, and then 30 with a gate pressure 30, done a few 1st and 2nd gear rolling take offs, evry time i booted it, it would still only get up to around 7.2 was the highest, but every time i changed gears, and flanted it again i would get a sudden boost spike to around 9 some times 10 but would drop straight away to 7 or lower. had the sensitvity high as well.

dam thing would all ways crunch a little into 4th and 5th and back into 4th, at revs its ok around town driving or cruzzen.

Check the over boost isn't set at like 8psi.

    • Nah, don't bother doing any actual measurements on the car. Just go ask the inter-f**king-net.
    • I currently have 18 x 9 +30 on the front with 18 x 10.5 +38 on the rear. Absolutely regretted it. Ended up putting 15 mm spacers on front and 25 mm spacers on the rear. Not to mention the rears were like a mm from hitting the coilovers. Definitely would go more aggressive then what you were originally planning. Keep in mind my guards are rolled and cars fair low so you might possibly need to roll guards depending how aggressive you go and how low the car is. Im not an expert but the 18 x 8.5 +25 18x9.5 +30 Sounds like it would sit much better.
    • Hey guys, sorry i have been researching for a few months and absolutely cannot wrap my head around this. I am about to order some rims to fit my R34 Gtt with coilovers My original plan was to order Rota grid R in 18x8.5 +30 235 40 R18 Fronts 18x9.5 +35 255 35 r18 rears But then the thought in my head said this isnt aggressive enough. I want the most concave spokes i can get without too much of poke and scrubbing   So my thoughts now is  18x8.5 +25 18x9.5 +30   My question is will this be the most aggressive i could get it without any guard rolling and does the type of rim style affect the offset / size.   Thanks everyone.
    • Lower parts are there. On passenger seat, bright yellow bit is the release mount. On drivers, bright yellow bit is the lower buckle for the other side. My bet is lowers are tucked out of the way as much as possible for visuals.
    • I'm guessing its a 4 point harness, 3 of the 4 belts are visible. I'm guessing the hidden belt is tucked down between the seat and door.
