i've just had a monster tacho with shift light installed in my 33 and the revs on the monster are about 100-200 below that of the standard tacho...

is this because the standard one is wrong, the monster is wrong or because one of the wires is too long or somethin, because i thought that the exact same signal would b sent from both tachos so i dont know why/how they can b different

and i did snip the brown wire, or which ever one it says to for a 6 cyclinder...

any help????

interesting, about 8 replies and no one has a useful fkn thing to say

i got the tacho cos i wanted it, u got a problem with that..deal with it! i read the manual, calibration involves cuttin 1 wire to suit a 6 cylinder, and its done right cos it would b way off if done wrong, not 100-200rpm....any more brilliant comments/questions?

hehehehe jet!

my s-afc is a few rpm off from my tach also, the safc gets the signal from the ecu and is digital, so i am assuming its more accurate than the tach

    • Thanks MBS206, i got that PDF but got abit overhelm with all the connections and tracing of wires. I wasn't expecting to plug the dash harness anywhere. i was just going to use my electronics jumper wires to plug into the right pins like ECU power, ecu ground, ignition trigger etc... I do have a few ratchet straps locking it down tight. Fire extinguisher ready and only a small amount of fuel at a time, enough to submerge the pump.
    • Thanks GTSBoy, i will do abit more digging. I am missing a blue relay near the ECU connector... so i will chase that up in the next few days as well
