Hello fellow Sklyine and import car enthusiats.

Of late it has been brought o my attention that the WA forum has taken a turn for the worse. I will now quote two of the 20+ PM's I've received complaining about the slide our forums have taken.

G'day Troy,

what's with all the fighting on SAU lately?

Seems to me that since a few people joined during the last few months, the whole WA section has degraded into a big slag match area.

It's so boring to read; in fact I .... and a couple of other people I know of ... can't even be bothered reading it as much now because lately it's been filled with the same drivel.

You don't have to take any notice of this PM .. I'm just releasing some pent-up frustration and I'm sorry it was to you

Cheers

and

whoring

Its really starting to put me off to...

I know we are all to blame but since i talk to (name witheld) a fair bit i constantly tell him to tone it down but im talkin to a brick wall!

As soon as he starts going everyone else joins in

If you have a look at most forums as im sure u know there isnt any foreign talk on most of them......a little...

Just thought id say cause im not the only one who hesitates in posting because its so clogged full of shit!

cheers

These came from two different forum members who have been here quite awhile now and they have both contibuted greatly to it.

I've also had complaints about over moderating, but the moderating has only increased recently due threads going off-topic, slanging matches starting (which has been identified as one of the reasons are put off), whoring to name the main issues. Please keep the whoring to the whore thread. The last week has been very good in this respect. As for slanging match we had our worst incident of this during the last week. Below is a copy of the forum rules which you all accepted when you signed up. If we can stick as close to possible to these the majority of people using the forum will be happy and there should very little moderating to be done.

Thankyou for you time.

Troy

The warning doesn't seem to be working.

another complaint from a long time member.

whats the story...

Mate,

Just thought i'd stick my hand up about the "odd" goings on in the forum.

It is shit to read now.. but i can't tell you Y. The whoring has a lot to do with it i guess.. but i dunno...doesn't feel comfortable.

I think the Mirc is a good idea. If we can get that happening then ppl can talk all they want...although why they haven't heard of a phone i do not know...

As for the moderating..the thing that makes me laugh, is nearly everytime you say something to "lay down the law"

(which has to be done)

there is a post in a little voice just after it from PVA echoing what you said

mods see those rules above start enforcing them. when u do mod a post pm the person and in the post do the following

mod: (why u moderated the post)

    • Have you done the Ignition Sync Wizard in the AEM software?
    • Find out what RPM it was idling at with the IACV unplugged. It's very weird that the rpm didn't change at all, and then it stalled. When it stalls is it nearly like a switch off, like you've turned the engine off? Or is it more stutters and sputters and coughs to death over a few seconds? Or does the RPM just slowly keep going down and down? Have you done a test of trying to start it with the AFM unplugged? Does it still die?     If you Follow Josh's advice on using Nistune to check the voltages (which is a perfect method!) if you see anything out of wack voltage wise, THEN get the multimeter out and read the voltage directly at the sensor. If the two vary, then you're now looking for a wiring issue vs a sensor issue. So be aware, what the ECU sees, may not be what the sensor is actually saying too...
    • You very likely need to get it on a dyno and tune it. My assumption is, you've got an RB25DET tune in it, which has a different manifold, different injectors, and different cams as a minimum. What O2 sensor are you running?   When you say it runs extremely rich from idle all the way to redline, is this just free revving it you see that?
    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
