Thermostatic Cooler Kits, Single/dual Filter Relocation Kits

Recommended Posts

Hey Dude,

Can the thermostat be used with other oil filter kits like the HKS R Type filter. It comes with the relocater kit and a core but no thermostat. Can this thermostat fit in with the dimensions of the other kit?

Thanks

Brendan

Hi N1GTR,

Had a look at the space left in the engine bay...not much.

Can you please post pictures and dimensions of single and dual filter setups. I'd like to see if I can fit either in what space I have before I commit.

Thanks and regards.

Hi

I dont have sizes for the filters, just have a look at the pic and then have a look at the size of your current filter as all the filters will be about the same size

You have a GTR? Then id suggest putting it either under the car, or in the space where the battery normally is on most cars(i know R33's have them in the boot)

So far no one who's bought one has taken pics and sent them to me, id do it for mine but my motor is in bits being rebuilt

 Steve

just to confirm, if i get just the thermostat and core, it will all fit in and work.. i.e I dont want to relocate the filter.

Hi Suspense,

If you get those parts and dont want to relocate the filter, you wont be able to fit them as the filter has no where to be located on the lines. Have a look at the very last pic attached on post one, and it should be quite easy to understand what i mean

:D

Hi Steve-o, mate i'll grab a filter relocation kit with a cooler and thermostat, you know what i want mate. Virtually everything i need to relocate filter then to cooler via thermostat then back to motor.

No worries Adam

Ill PM you the different configurations you can choose from :D

Hello Guys

I am the supplier for the thermostats here, i am having long delays with theses items from every supplier in Aus.

the cheapest replacment i have found was to be earls which want 167+gst each thermostat. which is far from a joke, i have around 8 coming in the next 2-3 weeks max, they were ment to be here sooner but have been delayed

i know is will make many ppl angry who have already ordered and paid and have been waiting for a while now i am very sorry for the delay and im doing everythign in my power to speed things up

Also if ANYONE can find a better priced Inline oil thermostat for under $120 each please contact me ASAP i will make it worth your while if you can find me 5 items here in AUS NOW which i can get my hands on to please these awaiting customers

you can contact me or steve via pm if you need any more info or help.

once again i am very sorry for the unexpected and uncontrolable delays

Do u have like any time frame when these kits are gonig to turn up? can u confirm when they left and when they should arrive even though its on sea freight surrely someone knows whats going on

hi N1 GTR

you have said that the kit comes with everything needed but how much length do you get with the hose?

do you get a box of pre-made pipes of varying lengths?

or does it come with one role of hose and fittings to be put on to your descression?

i ask because id like the whole kit but i think ill only be getting the relocation kit due to funds and would like to know how much length i would get. id like to be able to mount the filter flat near the battery in a r32 so it needs a fair bit of length in the pipes as other kits i have seen only come with about 30cm of pipes. id then like to mount the oil cooler and thermostat (purchased later) in front of the right hand wheel, basicly short lines from where the filter is to the cooler.

thanks for any help

damien

Mate I need the oil cooler kit my mechanic cant finish my car and has been waiting already 2 weeks for it

cant you send the kit off then the thermostat later when it arrives

Not happy at all ive had no confirmation or anything that my payment has been received either slack as

Please read above, there has been an unexpected delay due to a shortage of supplies.

    • I thought that might be the case, thats what I'll start saving for. Thanks for the info
    • Ps i found the below forum and it seems to be the same scenario Im dealing with. Going to check my ECU coolant temp wire tomorrow    From NICOclub forum: s1 RB25det flooding at start up Thu Apr 11, 2013 7:23 am I am completely lost on this. Car ran perfectly fine when I parked it at the end of the year. I took the engine out and painted the engine bay, and put a fuel cell with an inline walbro 255 instead of the in tank unit I had last year. After reinstalling everything, the engine floods when the fuel pump primes. if i pull the fuel pump fuse it'll start, and as soon as I put the fuse back in it starts running ridiculously rich. I checked the tps voltage, and its fine. Cleaned the maf as it had some dust from sitting on a shelf all winter, fuel pressure is correct while running, but wont fire until there is less than 5psi in the lines. The fuel lines are run correctly. I have found a few threads with the same problem but no actual explanation of what fixed it, the threads just ended. Any help would be appreciated. I found the problem though. There was a break in one of the ecu coolant temp sensor wires. Once it was repaired it fired right up with no problems. I would have never thought a non working coolant temp sensor would have caused such an issue.
    • Hi sorry late reply I didnt get a chance to take any pics (my mechanics on the other side of the city) but the plugs were fouled from being too rich. I noticed the MAF wasn't genuine, so I replaced it with a genuine green label unit. I also swapped in a different ignitor, but the issue remains. I've narrowed it down a bit now: - If I unplug and reconnect the fuel lines and install fresh spark plugs, the car starts right up and runs perfectly. Took it around the block with no issues - As soon as I shut it off and try to restart, it won't start again - Fuel pressure while cranking is steady around 40 psi, injectors have good spray, return line is clear, and the FPR vacuum is working. It just seems like it's getting flooded after the first start I unplugged coolant sensors to see if its related to ECU flooding but that didnt make a difference. Im thinking its related to this because this issue only started happening after fixing coolant leaks and replacing the bottom part of the stock manifolds coolant pipe. My mechanic took off the inlet to get to get to do these repairs. My mechanics actually just an old mate who's retired now so ill be taking it to a different mechanic who i know has exp with RBs to see if they find anything. If you have any ideas please send em lll give it a try. Ive tried other things like swapping the injectors, fuel rail, different fuel pressure regs, different ignitor, spark plugs, comp test and MAF but the same issue persists.
