I have an avc-r installed and have made up a plate to go over the ash try hole but i wish to have someone fit it profionally into the hole so it sits flush with the rest of the dash.

Has anyone ever done this in an R32 in Adelaide? If so where.

yes but I have been pulled over a few times and no1 has every mentioned it. one day I guess.

I would out it on speed display and say its to help me watch my speed.

yep, just take the ashtray out and use a sharp knife to cut some material away so you can slip in the unit from behind the shroud (slip it in from the driverside. I superglued some metal brackets behind the shroud to support it so it doesn't fall.

I am sure there are better ways to do it.

In case I ever get rid of it I can always put the ashtray back in place

isnt the unit wider than the ash tray/ so there for if u put the tray back in it would look shiet

the unit goes in from behind so some of it is actually covered on the side.

Maybe I should check to see the ashtray actually fits normally - it was a while back since I did this.

That looks smick! So how does it "mount" on the surround for the ashtray? Did you use double sided tape or make a custom bracket?

It might be a case of buying yourself a second hand sunvisor and experimenting with it. I haven't had a good look into it as yet but I will be in the next couple of months.
