Couple of my mates have 6 between the two of them on 600hp monster in build too !!! They are extremly reliable over 250k k's and still going stong and most WRX/sti parts are BOLT-IN options for upgrades and how many FULLYSICK WRX drivers upgrade ther STI suspension cause "it's not low enough".

Hey mate,

Ive just PM'd you with some details.

I used to own one, and by far the best car ive ever driven. EVER.

Cheers

champ!

PM replied mate :)

There were some good articles in the earlier zoom magazines, as the editor at the time had one. I will try and find them when I get home in a couple of days and scan them up for you.

that would be great thanks bud!

damn. honestly i was actually hoping NOT to get such positive feedback on these cars so i could have an excuse to continue searching for an r32 gtst instead :P but i've heard enough its definately gonna be an rs!! plus i don't think these days i'd be able to get a decent r32 for anything under 10Gs anyway..

just looking for some unbiased opinion on this car, which is why i haven't bothered going on subaru forums.

anyone here ever owned one or currently drives one? i'd just like to know how reliable they are etc..

to past owners - why have you sold yours? got sick of it? too much of a headache? switched to rwd? upgraded?

any help is much appreciated.

thanks :P

brought a GTiR cause i couldnt find one. sold the GTiR to buy a RS.. couldnt find one. brought a GTR.. now over AWDs.

they are pretty tight car. basicaly a wrx without the stupid fully hektic burnout image. gearboxes are weak but can swap with the MY98 onwards box aslong as its a GC series and the same rear diff ratio. the water to air cooler is ok. but benifits from a FMIC Air to Air. with a form of water spray.

so for around 10k i rather get a RS wagon than a GTiR or a stagea RS auto S1.

they are a great car and ive driven a few. smooth with wrx rumble.. :)

www.libertyrs.org good bunch of blokes.

keep in mind all this info is off my head from years back. :P

if i dig up anymore info ill let u knw

thanks

mark.

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
