Just a WARNING for everyone...

Two friends and I just got back from buying the Engine and Gearbox.

The story about who owns the car, what it's history is and where it came from CHANGED multiple times within a few hours while we were there.

I would say the car is DEFINATLY STOLEN AT SOME STAGE (not saying these guys did) because the vin numbers ect. have been grinded off and the car has been quickly resprayed with pressure pack's multiple times.

Their story first was that they bought it from a guy across Melbourne then the story changed to they imported it from Japan them self's and that it was stolen and recovered within Japan, therefore unable to be complied.

THEY said on multiple occasions that it had NEVER EVER been registered or even complied in Australia. THE car had CLEARLY been complied because it had Side Intrusion bars fitted as well as a Fuel filler neck added AND HAD A NEW AUSTRALIAN VIN NUMBER STAMPED INTO THE TOP OF THE STRUT TOWER which was then ground off...

I've had 2 Skylines complied and striped multiple RB25's from R33's so I knew exactly what i was looking at.

Further more we had AGREED what EXACTLY WAS INCLUDED with the engine via PM's then again agreed outside their garage WHAT EXACTLY would been included once we removed the engine ect.

AS SOON AS they had OUR money in their hands they changed the agreement and wouldn't hand over the computer or airflow meter ect. Then just disappeared on us once they had us outside there Garage. They are now asking for MORE MONEY for those items.

FURTHER MORE the turbo was completely FU#KED and i would STRONLY recommend NO one buys it, as well as the shell of the car clearly having a VERY HARD life with the front end being welded BACK ON and some sections being REPLACED with steel plate. Also LODGED in the catalytic converter was the exhaust side of a previous turbo...

These guys were straight out dodgy characters and should not be trusted. AND for everyone's interest we DID get the POLICE involved.

Please take my warning, Cheers Everyone

So you actually seen this car some where around Oakleigh or Clayton right?

I believe this car is indeed stolen and when i went to have a look at it, it looked very sus to me as well.

I've actually seen this car twice now, first seen it some where around Preston and today seen the same car three months later at some ones house in East Keilor. The first time I've seen it, there these two little kids, they seemed like they were 17-18 year old kids (two of them), barely legal enough to drive a car let alone drift it..... when i contacted them to pick the parts up, they arranged a meeting at a train station since they weren't willing to meet at the location of where the car was parked at. When i got to the train station, they tell me the car is at their grand mothers house, in her garage.. I was willing to go, so i followed them to their supposed "grandmothers" house which was located in Preston or there abouts. We arrive to the house, but at a first glance i could tell no one was living in this residency, it was a abandoned old house with a garage at the back and the car was located there in a miserable condition.. Inside the garage, there were some couches and PAINT CANS, with graffiti over the walls..

I went to check out another part from another different login today, and what do i see? The same car in a front yard in East Keilor with a different face claiming to have ownership of this car.

So the car travels from Oakleigh to Preston and now ends up on East Keilor... THIS CAR IS 100% STOLEN and all these guys know each other.

The guy who is currently keeping the car goes by the login name of " SXC_R33 " on this very forum and he is continuing to sell this cars parts.

I hope these punks get busted with a permanet criminal record..

MR BARBARIAN . yes ok the car is at my house but i paid for it from taso 84 and i dont know the history of that car cause all i needed was parts to repair another car or mine. taso 84 stated that is was not stolen and i dont know him from a bar of soap till i meet him to pick up the car. The reason i am selling the bits is to recover some money back from the parts i do not need.

But you have no right to put me in fault for anything its funni how ppl talk when they are online and never say it to your face??. i paid for something. if its stolen i would not leave it at my house would i. But anyway that is not me i dont deal with stolen stuff so everyone who things different cause of mr barbarian please dont cause i have been on here long enuf.

This smells far too fishy to me.

Both threads are locked.

If there are 3 separate people who don't know each other, and all giving the same story out.

I'm inclined to believe them in this instance.

Selling goods from stolen cars will not be tolerated on SAU regardless of if "i purchases it legally".

I simply dont give a shit for dodgy reasons

Cheers.

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
