I'm taking my car over dickson soon and i have one quick query.

My car used to be an automatic but the auto blew up last year so i took the opportunity to convert it to a manual. I did the conversion at home in my garage myself (as far as i know i did it properly because it's now a year later with no problems). Will i have to get this conversion engineered?

Also on this topic do the guys at dickson have any problems with hicas lock bars?

Cheers guys.

Simon

I don't think you need to engineer it since the car you have was also produced as a manual. Maybe go ask an engineer to be certain. If all you did was bolt standard manual gear without needing any custom work in then I doubt it.

Would the guys a dickson even look twice at a hicas lock bar? :)

I don think the manual is a problem. (As long as its from the same model car)

Aka r32 manual box put into your auto r32. Or what ever car its is. (same with ford etc)

This is becuase the car has been rated to this gearbox.

If you dont tell them i dont think they will even pick it up!

Give it a shot... i think you will be fine. But depends on the inspector.

A mate got his VL calias turbo through with a screamer, the guy let him through on the grouds he was a fan of screamers. It was also stupidly loud and a little low. Just depends who you get. You should be right though.
