Hey im considering getting custom made piping say 2.5inch ..and buying a cannon muffler for my r33 gts

i dont know which would be best brand to go for..

i like Apexi N1 muffler but they are like $400..anyone seen them cheaper and from where

also X-Force mufflers i'll get 3-4inch tip and they arent to pricy

but with the x-force mufflers...are they any good..hows the sound they produce??

UPDATE

ok ive tried searching a million times and ive emailed heaps of different websites to see if they sell Apexi N1 mufflers on their own and every place has stopped production on them and selling them...

i cant seem to buy any apexi n1 or hks super dragger muffler just on its own with a 2.5inch inlet

i dont know any other brands besides MAGNA FLOW & X-Force but i heard to keep away as they drone heaps....anyone know what i should do.....im only after buying a muffler as i'll get custom piping done if the current exhaust system im looking at falls through..

im looking for a cannon similar to the one below attached

thanks

Dad has an Xforce muff.

He has one on his R32 Rb25DET VVL.

When we first started the engine and before all the settled carbon and shit build up in the engine left the engine, it made it sound like a bog block V8 WRX.. gosh it was freakon sexy!

The mufflers are quite loud and does create a fair bit of resonance and droneing. Some people get off on it, others take the muff off. What ever floats your boat really..

Its quite wanky and rice burner-ish. Its chromed, sticks out a fair bit (2 door R32) and has X-FORCE embedded within the top of so as you can see it from space..

Drove his car.. after 20min of driving, i was going CRAZY! it resonates and drones throughout all RPM.

btw.. it came with the car.. dads trying to swap me his muff for my NISMO one.. HA!.. (told him ill trade him my muff and stock suspention for his HSD coilovers.. not going too sucessfull)..

So theres your answer.. see if it floats your boat..

    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
