bodge
I have just installed a montster tacho into my R33 GTST but, l have one problem. Were do i get the RPM signal from. l have downloaded the Ecu diagram and it states that pin 7 is the RPM signal. When i traced it back to the Ecu there was no pin7 to allow me to tap into to get the signal. Does anyone know were else l can get a RPM signal. l have also tried getting the the signal from the coil packs but, that too didn't seem to work. CMS Drifter
double check which pin you are trying to tap into. I have checked my file and pin 7 is correct. It should work. If you need a diagram email me [email protected] Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/19046-monster-tacho/#findComment-402061 Share on other sites
TasGTR
Just piggy back it off the wire for the tacho in your dash. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/19046-monster-tacho/#findComment-402840 Share on other sites
bodge
Thanks for the reply gents. It looks like l may have to tap into the RPM signal behind the dash, hope its not a ball buster of a job. This may be a stupid question but, could l get a RPM signal from the crank angle senser? CMS Drifter
prrobly not. the rpm signal behind the dash would be identical to that found at your computer Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/19046-monster-tacho/#findComment-405050 Share on other sites
Craved
would the extra drain on the circuit affect the readings when done this way? i've got an MT installed yet the 2 tacho dont coincide all the time eg.. idle revs = MT higher 1K to 2.5K = equal revs above that = origal tacho higher Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/19046-monster-tacho/#findComment-450437 Share on other sites
Bleach1
its always a good idea to try and tap into a sensor as close to the ecu as possible im told. Somehting to do with accuracy id say. Was told by and auto elec once. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/19046-monster-tacho/#findComment-450468 Share on other sites
