so i have this new problem thats was intermitten but now seems consistant anywas its having truble reving past 5000 rpm under load (like 3rd and 4th) and it sometimes has a small back fire, and pop but other then that it seems to be running fine... any ideas?

thanks

there will be many people on here that can solve this problem however jsut to get the ball rolling, possibly your AFM (air flow metre) folwing and therefore the ecu is 'retarding' the way it drives. also possibly your spark plugs are old or coils are not up to sctach, that would probably explain the missfire, here is just some ideas...get the plugs changed over, check the terminals on the AFM and make sure coils are all working fine.

hame

since it is an R32 and not R33, it is not rich and retart.

your problem will most likely bee spark plug or coil pack related.

easy fix.

6 new spark plugs - $24

Roll of good quality Electrical tape - $5

Gap the spark plugs to 0.8mm and put them in (search this forum for the part number of the spark plugs to use)

tape up the coil packs which are already out to get to the spark plugs (search this forum for detailed instructions)

done.

2 hours and $30

(it may take you less time)

Hey thx i'll check them anyways the plugs are farly new and i already checked for a boost leek and nothing.... is ther a way i can check the coils?

if it only happens under load, then you could only really check them on a dyno.

Just tape them up as per instructions in many other threads..

Here is one I bothered to type it all up in

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
