What's the biggest tyre size a 9 inch rim can take? I currently have 235's (45 profile) and they're too small, i'm getting wider ones. Is 255 the 'correct' size or can i go bigger? How will these choices affect handling/ride quality?

Thanks

255/40s would be the common correct size, the side walls still look flat aswell on a 9 inch rim.

wouldnt go bigger maybe 265s but $$ gets up there.

+1 i run 9 inch and use 255/40. 255 is wide enough plently of grip.

What tyre brand you thinking off?

Thanks for the advice. I'll def upgrade to 255's (i think i'll hang on to 45 profile...suspension jarrs the f**k outta me) in that case. If that's the 'correct' size then all's good. Also good to hear 265 can be done (GRIP!)

Cheers as

255 isnt too wide. I like the look of the fatter wheels behind and the grip it has to offer. I would like 265 even better but the money for it is insannee!! haha...

seen some skylines running 285.. now thats FAT and heavy on the wallet =(

Also.. r338boy what suspension are you running? Im running hipermax D on the stiffest setting and profile of 40 isnt to bad in regards to the jar factor
